That is why, to me, these older ones are the best. 2008 - 2012. People miss the fact that these mashups are as good as the music he has to work with. A lot of GenXers & below prefer the later ones because that's the music they put at the top of the charts. They're not for me.

The constant Viva La Vida and Disturbia background music was a brilliant choice. This is absolutely beautiful because of how melodic and slow it is and the build ups of the background music every once in a while are great. One of my favorite mashups ever

I’m 28 now, I was 14/15 when these songs came out. Summer before freshman year was the best and worst summer of my life. My parents relationship was a dumpster fire. We were getting kicked out of our house and my dad had to find a cheap rental that would approve his application. My sisters and I had this old radio/cd player… one that is supposed to mounted up under the kitchen cabinets (I wonder if anyone else remembered when it was cool to have a radio in the kitchen) but we took it and put it in our room. Hot 100.5 was our radio station that played all the hits. We listened to music for hours and hours. We sang along, danced, talked… colored with gel pens. Played with our hair and makeup. Music really does heal the soul

I get overcome by emotion when I listen to this. These songs were what I listened to when I was 16 and still trying to figure out the kind of person I wanted to be. I'm 22 now. Over the past 6 years, I've faced tragedies, said goodbyes, welcomed new faces, accomplished goals. This song reminds me of all the memories that I've locked away and scarcely revisit. Gosh, what a crazy ride life has been so far.

My father passed away the summer of ‘08 and music literally got me through it. I would have really bad insomnia and just be up watching MTV. Music is so healing, and the mash up of 2007-2009 are by far my favorites. The end of a good decade.
