I don't know which one is catchier or better, 2009 or 2010. They're both flawless mashups. I'm honestly speechless at the amount of effort it must be to put this together, not only by the end of the year, but to cut the right lyrics out and video editing so that it looks cohesive. Astonishing.

I personally think that 2009 and 2010 was an EXCELENT year for mainstream music. It was filled with so many unique artists and had many different genres. I hope music can be like this again.

I miss music like this, fun, uplifting, and an escape from personal issues. The more modern songs containing drugs, sex, and global issues ( although global issue songs contain good reason) does not help 13-25yr old individuals recover from depression and anxiety at all. plus added to the stress of the pandemic pushed a lot of people to escape to drugs and sex which can result in ruining their own school careers and lives as a result. In the class of 2019 ( my class ) i personally know 4 people who have children(not judging but I don’t understand why they wouldn’t want a college education first), 15 that are drug dealers, and 30 that are sex workers at 20 years old (not judging but that lifestyle has extreme risks and I don’t want anyone to get hurt), and so far 7 have killed themselves. it’s heartbreaking to see a quarter of my class is falling apart so soon after graduation and I’m certain the music everyone listens to today is a major contributing factor.

No. More likely you were young when you heard this music and you didn't notice all the drug references or your music knowledge was incredibly superficial and so you only heard the most family-friendly chart topping pop hits. Music has always been dirty and contained more mature themes. There is no difference between 2010 music and 2021 music in terms of the maturity of themes. You were just naive and ignorant to it.
