I thought about that after I returned to Texas and was making the video. I have upcoming events in Florida and Tennessee, I'll put together a video showing details! Great request, thank you for taking the time to comment!
Bussing like inputs together has changed my life for the better when I'm working corporate events. Out of curiosity, when you are sending out record/broadcast feeds, are you sending the mic buses to a matrix out to video world, or are they receiving their own post-fade bus (without the mic bus processing)? I tend to do the latter - I EQ for the room on the buses (correcting for problem frequencies in the space/common feedback frequencies), and EQ for the mics themselves (whether it be due to the mic itself or physical placement) on the input channels. I find that results in a more natural sound in the records, and I can restrict all my hacking and chopping I'm doing to make the room sound good to the room itself.
I send each channel to a ‘like bus’ I.e. lavs, but I also send each channel to a Record Bus. Minimal processing on individual channels to get the exact result you mentioned. A clean record feed. Thanks!
Thank you for posting. Could you show us how to route the groupings on the iPad? Cheers!

On the faders on the app, what is the small white/black box under the right hand side of the pan control?
I believe you are noticing the Automix feature… Thursday’s video!
