- EF mounted lenses are a popular choice for those working across different camera platforms, but how do the added functions of the 18-80 Servo-zoom cope with adapting to non-Canon cameras?

Why don’t you please discuss whether the CANON® COMPACT SERVO 70-200mm lens is fully compatible w/ the BLACKMAGIC URSA MINI 4.6K & PRO CINE CAMERAS? This would definitely interest us all.
Thank you
Hello, have a good time...
I have a Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K pro
and a Canon CN-E18-80mm T4.4 L IS KAS S lens
But the lens is not connected to the camera
Please tell me what conversion you used to connect this lens to the Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K pro? thank you
Hello, I'm considering buying the EVA1 + 18-80mm. Will the record button and one-touch AF on the additional hand grip communicate with the camera? Thanks in advance.
Yes, one shot AF and record button all working fine with Eva 1! This is a great combo, maybe the best shot&gun (i'll say even shot&fun) of the moment if you want to create cinematic & an easy style shooting. EVA 1/ Canon 18-80mm/ ZACUTTO GraticalX VIEWFINDER i was using recently this combo in solo operator, for a 2 months shooting in some extremes situations ( wind, sand, salt watter, sun). Adding the viewfinder or an Atomos Ninja ( to take full profit from raw and prores from the big sensor almost 6k which Eva 1 offer) is also a comfort on the field, the Eva 1 monitor being just good to control the menus. Now, as you see I feel very enthusiastic about this combo, hope you got it.
@@artFurtuna thanks for your reply man! Great to hear your experience with it. I actually went with the C200 in the end (mainly for AF option and 10 stop NDs - the NDs are great but haven't even used AF yet!). I couldn't afford the lens at the time, but planning to get it once work starts again!
@@artFurtuna Hi! I own an EVA 1 and was wondering if the Image Stabilization on this lens worked with your EVA 1?
....so please i want to know if there is any way i can fix it on the camera either with convertor or if its not possible to use too. Thanks very
waiting to hear from you or anyone who is ready to hhelp
Does anyone know if servo handle can trigger start/stop recording on the EVA1?
Can you do a video with this lens on the Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2? I really want to order this lens for my camera.
Interesting. Did you continue development. Is this available to order. Can it be controlled with a Sony RCP?
I have cn-e 18-80 & blackmagic ursa mini pro g2, on bm forums community says that all works fine, but autofocus works veryyy slow, so maybe u can tell more about this combination, maybe needs to correct some settings, or wait updates. Thanx!
Does this camera's AF/Apeture control work with the Red Komodo X?
Does anyone know whether or not this lens needs power to operate the iris? When it was powered on my fs7 it was fine but on my xdcam I can’t get it powered and it won’t operate
I'm struggling to find anything online that says this works absolutely fine with the URSA G2. Any ideas?
the record button on the servo zoom grip does not work when connected to a FS7. Did you not come across this?
Would love to see this on a Gh5S .... give us a video on it!!
Hello Sir thanks very much for this video and please am new into this whole camera things and now I have a lens I bought from a friend (canon TV zoom lens v10x16) but my camera too is DSLR canon 77D
Usefull presentation, thank you! Please, need an adapter in L between the 18-80mm lens and the remote cable from the zoom controller (as the cable is tortured when we leave the camera on flat, always need to get out the cable from the lens before leaving down the camera ). After testing with differents combos, I find it working the best with the Evs 1 and I shoot a doc with this combo. Could you make a technical review of this combo? Will be great for documentary run&gun shooters...
I am having trouble finding an affordable (under $150) lens support for this lens. Any suggestions?
You could use this smallrig one?

You didn't say if the record button from the grip now work through the Metabones to the
Sony's. Does it?
Good point, I should have mentioned that. Apologies.
It does, the camera actually sees it as an assignable button so it can be set to record or any other function if you'd prefer.
Carl
Hi, could you tell me where I can find the option to customize my rec button on the fs7 ? I can't find it in the different menus so I'm a little bit confused :-)
Thanks !
Good news !
Does anyone know if the Image Stabilization on this lens works on the Panasonic EVA1?
Yes, it works great with EVA1 !
Are you planning on testing the GH5 and Canon 18-85mm with speedbooster combo now that metabones has released the new firmware? Think that will be a really sweet combination ;)
Didn't consider adding the GH5 to this, but us it would work well!
Carl
Does it work with the rf adapter?
Does work this lense via adapter at a PMW-F5 or at a Venice ..??
It wont cover the full frame sensor of the Venice
But you can use it on the F5 with this metabones adapter: www.proav.co.uk/canon-ef-to-sony-fz-t-cine-smart-adapter
Carl
thanks :)
I mean, who cares? It’s T4.4....
Yes but is light and shot&gun great combo with a double iso camera like varicam.. Paired with a prime 35 or 50mm is maybe all you need for a solo operator shooting
@ProAV TV think we need more info on the FS7 and Canon 18-80. Lens speed, how to power the servo?
Lens speed is adjustable with a dial on the lens.
Servo is powered through the metabones.
Carl
Why are your videos a little pink?
Because Canon's colour science is shite. It makes most people look like they have high blood pressure.
@@Stanleykubrick2
Let me just state the obvious... That didn't make sense.
awesome video
Thanks
Carl
thanks again
No problem
Carl
Talks a lot but does not say much. Let's see the zoom speed control on the FS7. Is it variable or does it have 'locked' speeds like the Sony 18-110? I have the Sony 18-110 on my FS7. The zoom control is awful. It's like shifting gears on the zoom speed changes. No smooth ramps at all.
There is a zoom speed dial on the bottom of the lens
Carl
Ok.. so the rocker is just an on/off switch like the Varizoom zoom remote then? There is no variable speed as you press down on the rocker with more or less pressure?
@@wwsvs progressive ramping ok, the zoom speed depend on the pressure
