Your home canned broth looks fine, that's just fat in the top. Perfectly normal. It does look like you had some siphoning so when you do it next time watch out for that. The best channel that follows all the rules of canning is Sutton Daze. Her name is leisa and she is a no bull type of girl lol she is a good teacher.

@@thewadsquad siphoning is where the liquid inside the jar come out during the canning process. It can be because you over filled the jars, it can be because the temperature changed to quickly either when you 1st heated it or when you opened the pressure canner. Really look at Sutton daze she will walk you through all of it.
It’s almost crocktober Kim! I take the whole month of October and exclusively do all my great crockpot recipes. It’s a great time! So I’m looking forward to more soup recipes I can make in my crockpot 😊

Yes the kids have off of school for the day and we’ve got all we need ♥️🌀 I’ll keep you guys updated. Thankfully we’re not in the direct path so we won’t get the worst of it. Praying everyone stays as safe as possible ❤

Your guardian Angel was working overtime to protect you from all that!! Especially considering how far it all went. And I was thinking $300.00 to replace that piece of glass. That’s great that it’s not astronomical. I bet it happens a lot actually. Cold fridge and hot pots etc etc. And Alex had perfect timing to come home and help. Go buy a lottery ticket lucky girl! Oh, and I don’t even need any outside influences to scare me, I scare the crap out of myself all the time. It’s pathetic. Like laying in bed, what’s that big black shape over there….oh it’s MY hand. Such an idiot. But my heart rate is still in the 120s. Pathetic I tell you.

The glass was so cold and then it went to hot and it caused it to shatter.

Omg about 3 years ago the same thing happened to me while cleaning my fridge drawers. I was so shocked and upset. I still haven’t had it replaced because the fridge style isn’t being made any longer. Hopefully you get yours replaced!
Oh maaaan!!!! That’s the worst when they discontinue fridges!!! Ours was very affordable to order thankfully!!!

There was no shock to the glass is what I'm worried about... Why did it shatter?! Scary! With you in short, bare feet etc...
Those people on social media displaying the perfect life literally do that for a living and probably get tons of help with their kids. Most of us don’t have the time to prioritize food prepping because we work outside the home, get no help with the kids and like you, we prioritize our kiddos ❤️🫶🏻 you’re doing a great job at being a mom and that’s your most important role right now. They won’t remember the prepped food. They’ll remember you volunteering at school events and showing up to their games.

I think your broth looks fine. I would say to store the jars with no rings. That way you dont end up with a false seal. If you're doing a full block of cheese I would recommend using your food processor. It does the whole thing so fast!
I’m not trying to be critical but I wonder if the homemade broth should be refrigerated?

I think the bone broth jar should have been filled to 1 inch below the rim. It looks like normal bone broth. If the seal is closed & no funky stuff growing around the seal, you should be fine. If you open the jar, it smells off, looks off, toss it. But if it looks fine, smells fine, & seal was tight with no funk, go for it.
i found a minimal pantry works better for me, I can't go through it quick enough, so now I tend to buy what I need only, maybe 1 extra if it's on offer if you know what I mean. FOr your cans maybe you can make a raised plank with a plinth on the front would look like a flat Z or N just a bit of board and 2 slats or plints of bits of wood, sturdier than that plastic concoction ;-) well done on tidying. Safety glass will shatter under pressure, hot to cold or cold to hot, like Pyrex and if it has a scratch, under tremors or pressure. I used to work in a concert hall and used to collect beer glass the more the merries right? nope the times someone got hurt from having a stack of glasses near their face....i was more shocked at you guys with no shoes on and glass everywhere, glad you get it in soon

The cereal in lil bags no one likes. Make some kind of cereal bar. Peanut butter and honey will help anything taste great lol. Hate that about the glass. Watching you I thought hmmm, I should do that. Then I saw the glass and said nope. I'll just clean it while it's in the fridge. Lol 😂

Hope you’re all staying safe and just thought I might add that you can put water in jars and can it for emergency water.
I love those costco green beans because they're individually flash frozen and the bag has a zip lock so you can grab as many as you need. We just boil them with a little water in a skillet for 5 minutes, drain the water off and add butter garlic and onion and cook them up. So yummy and fresh tasting
I love Cauliflower !! 💐 tenderstem Broccoli, but not the big one 😐 Asparagus 😋, hate cooked peppers 😣 not into apples or oranges, love soft fruit, strawberries not Raspberries, peaches and nectarines, favourite is Passion fruit, I don't like dark chocolate, love milk chocolate. Fave soup of the moment home made lemon chicken soup with Orzo.... 💐❤

The glass!! That happened to me one time when I was helping my sister in law clean her fridge! I never even considered cold glass and hot water leading to explosive glass!

Your broth looks great. Take the ring off so if they bust you can see. If the ring is on they can bust (causing botulism) and re seal because the ring is holding them down. ❤❤❤
If the jars are sealed, you should be fine, but you did leave a lot of space lol

Like three weeks ago my brother brought his first house so cool right well anyway that piece that shelf out of the fridgeraider. My Job was cleaning kitchen pool house, pretty much they remove the popcorn from their ceiling. It was a mess.
Well anyway that same piece you were cleaning I had a really hard time with trying to remove the glass well I couldn’t do it.
I took that thing outside sprayed it with bleach several times and kept spraying it with the water hose.
After like the third spray down, it became a lot more cleaner . I was happy so was my sister in law.
Im so glad I couldn’t remove the glass my sister in law prolly would have freaked out.

I love the idea of the busy mom meal plan! I’m not a big chopper so I buy the pre chopped veggies in the freezer section so I can have the same flavors and all I have to do is cut the bag open and dump them in!

We find putting fruit in mason jars in the fridge our berries will last at least two weeks. 🎉 I would never have believed it if I didn’t try it myself. Could you please tell me what kind of large mason jars you are using for your flour in the pantry. I switched to plastic from glass but was told it lets in some air so I want to go back to glass.
My chicken broth looks just like that. I think you did great! If it’s sealed eat it! It’s so good! Just fill them a little more next time. 🙂
Your canned broth looks ok, but you do need to take the rings off of the jars for storage.
MEAL PLANNING IDEA: I’ve been using the Passionate Penny Pincher recipe boxes, and they are fabulous!
They give you the recipes AND grocery list for the week, and just make it so super easy. There are several boxes (crockpot meals, low calorie meals, freezer meals, etc). You should check it out! 🙂

I know the feeling you had when the glass shattered....I had a roast in the crock pot and I started walking toward it to check on it..all of a sudden the glass lid just shattered and glass went all over me,kitchen,breakfast room and floor....never saw so much glass from just a lid...I contacted Crockpot about it not to complain but to let them know something wrong....they sent me a new Crockpot ...My little nephew had just come thru the kitchen all I could think is what if it hit him....whT IF IT HIT MY EYES...ok I stop...lol
I think the glass shattered from the change in temps. Cold frig -cold glass. Then prob warm/hot water. I had pyrex dish do that once. Hot dish sat on cold counter and it went everywhere including all the food in it! Glad you were able to replace it.
For the cheese grater, wet the suction cup before sucking to counter top. I have the same one and had same prob moving around. Now it stays fine!! ❤❤❤❤❤

I would like to make a suggestion. Move the snacks to the clear containers on the right and those things that are ingredients into the white basics. It may prevent the kids from digging through your pantry or a snack drawer like you have upstairs
Kimmmm! I’m glad you are okay. I saw it in the preview and you even warned us it was coming but I still jumped 10 ft. I once put my elbow through my 8’ square patio table glass top trying to take the umbrella out of it. Not fun at all. My husband was shop vacuuming glass out of the grass. 😫😩

The main thing is that you're not hurt, Kim. I also have experience with broken glass. The most impressive one was when I was about nine. I wore glasses and during gymnastics class I took a soccer ball right in the face at close range. I'm still alive and I lmao when I imagine my face back then. "Breaking" memories... 🤣😂🤣😂🤣🙏🏻❤️🤗
It’s hard to eat healthy. I recently found out that even Tylenol has fillers in it. I learned about someone who had their Tylenol confiscated at customs because it is not allowed in Scotland. Thank you for all the great content.

My dad and I broke a sheet of tempered glass in his garage by accident when I was a kid and for years after, anytime we cleaned the garage we found another piece lol. It haunted us for a while!

Your broth looks fine. If you processed it for 90 minutes and followed directions form a reputable source you're fine. If you're really worried, reheat it (when you cook it) to boiling for 10 minutes and any botulism will be killed.
