Wow is she beautiful. Loved their love story but hated how they handled it’s conclusion. Just as they make it she’s put to sleep for two seasons & awakened for just a brief reunion with the epic love of her life. The whole show was driven by their relationship, given what went before it was almost treated as an afterthought in the finale. That annoyed me.
This was because of the break up between nian. It’s was hard for them

I think Damon fell in love with true Elena without comparassion to Katherine. He can accept Elena at any side, human or vampire but Stefan couldn't accept her as a vampire, he was afraid that Elena will be 'bad'. He loves Katherine that's why he keeps her picture for years but he can never admit his feelings for such bad person and after everything she has done
Stefan sees Katherine in Elena, Elena is just better version of Katherine fir him.
I'm Sure if the writers show good side of Katherine he will fall in love with her again
