You gotta land it clean or it sits in the back of your mind that makes you do it again. This is the mentality of a perfectionist.
Landing with a hand doesn't count as landing. Its like a soccer ball hitting someone other than the goalie's hand before going in the net. I think thats one of the few things universally agreed upon in skating: hand landing is not landing...i think they let it slide sometimes in vert but im not into vert skating like that

How many times they can dust themselves off and give it their best after failure after failure is really inspirational.
