I don't understand one thing, monopoly is when you have POWER to sell your product in order to destroy your opponents.
While apple is overprices, sometimes worse company without ANY power over Samsung, Xiomi, Google and etc. So there is no monopoly, goverment doesn't support apple.
In the meantime why would you restrict some company expand in their own way, that called dictatorship, when you are working not on market, but in insterest on people/group of people, whos main idea is not to sell (and upgrade eventially) your product, but contoll minds over the people

(They cost a lot of money Ofcourse). Which is fine. But then a new android comes out and you want to try it? Then you feel like nah, I have to Stick with iPhone. so I haven’t wasted money on the AirPods and watch that you then wouldn’t be able to use if I switch. So then you never feel able to switch. You get stuck with apple and it makes the market no longer competitive because you feel like you have no choice.

It's about Apple refusing to add encryption, and high quality files for those who are not using an iPhone.
The problem is that Apple makes every single one of their things proprietary and doesn't follow standards that would benefit the entire tech industry. Look at the lightning port, Apple wanted to own the entire concept of charging a battery. Third party manufacturers making lightning port accessories would literally have to pay Apple for the ability to use the lightning port. That's why there's not much lightning port accessories and consumers are forced to buy first party Apple ones.

But the xbox controller does work with the ps5 with an adapter, and pc without one. Apple locks that function out.
Also a controller costs $40, a smartwatch, and headphones are over $1000.

airpods also has bluetooth and works with android, just like a controller would for a console. Its actually exactly the same. Playstation controller works for xbox, but has a core feature cut off (track pad), just like with airpods and easy connection, noise canceling ect.

He's simply stating that Apple discourages users from using anything else but apple products due to the many impediments and walls they put in place that stop third party developers from integrating their own products, thus making it a monopoly
i think the problem here is, if you buy some sony buds or samsung buds or any type of bluetooth headset it works with every single phone, same with other things... so why should apple be the only one to not do the same thing?

When you dont undestand basic principals of business, dont give your ridiculous opinions on it. Clearly this guy does not understand what a monopoly means. The whole point is that when you have a company that is a monopoly, you ultimately defeat most if not all of the competition. Even if the other products were better they would not be able to compete due to the monopoly position that Apple holds in the US. This hurts the developement of the industry.
It can also create safety concerns, for example when you have a monopoly position in an industry you dont have to have the best tech, resulting in worse safety, taking into consideration the fact that pretty much every person in the US owns a phone its a major security threat, this combined with apps like TikTok that openly gather information to their own usage (whatever it may be) for other countries in this case China its a threat to the public and can lead to consequences in the future. There is many other problems too regarding apple that i wont be touching on but you can find info easily trough a simple google search.
Obviously xQc has the brain capacity of a squirrel so the only thing he focuses on is the "point" that apple made it so its theirs exclusively. That was not the point of the video however.

@@baph0met monopoly doesnt need to apply completely in the tech industry, most of the time its the case that a specific program, or software, or hardware is restricted to use in one way that results in a monopoly. In the discussed scenario, it is fair to say that apple is monopolizing its market to be usable only within its own devices. Imagine buying an apple car that functions only with iphones and thus loosing your phone means you cant drive your car. thats just not fair the the masses.

X missing the whole point that the issue is because Apple blocks external products being used with their devices. Their is no accessibility for third party products to certain features without breaking the terms of service via jail-breaking. Android devices, computers and the majority of all tech can be used across multiple devices as the only block is whether you allow the device whereas apple products actively made software to disallow anything that isn't their proprietary software.

Using an emulator isn't illegal, not in any capacity. Even making your own ROMs is likely legal, although the distribution of them isn't.

The same thing has been happening with consoles for years, and no one is saying anything about it. If I buy an Xbox Series X and buy some Xbox games, accessories, controllers, etc., they are not going to work with a PS5 or any other console, even though stuff like games and controllers could be easily used on different consoles, at least digitally, because compatibility is the issue with physical copies of games from console to console. Fixing the compatibility issue should be easy to do because, say, if you buy a game on your Xbox account, it will also be on your PlayStation account, or at least something like that. Console companies are doing the exact same thing that Apple is doing, yet no one is talking about it.

So you buy an iPhone, you HAVE to buy an apple watch if you wanted to buy a smart watch. What company is going to make smart watches when apple, with the largest phone share, will not allow it to work, or work properly with their phones.. You want SMS messaging to work normally, you have to have your friends and family on phones because apple refuses to use modern messaging protocols that they did not make
