Hi Matt, yes the beak, cere, feet are all airbrushed, but I keep the videos short and entertaining so they not boring. like you are literally seeing an 8-10 hours of work in a few minutes.
Hey Breton.... I carve all my own bodies, the blue foam you see is a high density construction foam. they come in big blocks and I buy them from construction suppliers in town.
Are your grooming wires just different gauge wire straightened for the purpose? Do you do much pinning to hold the wings in place? Looks like you applied a paste to the inside of the skin as you were sewing. Standard hide paste like you would use on a deer? Thanks. I admire your work
I love those little "Sparrow Hawks" and this one is awesome
Great Mount!
Great piece of work. Did you have to paint the legs or anything else?

Do you make the bodies or purchase them?
Can you tell me from what company you get them and what is the material used to make them?

What eye size did you use? And where did you get the eyes? Thanks!
9mm dark brown. Very common eye you can buy them from any taxidermy supplier.
@@ArtofTaxidermy great thank you for the reply! Any tips on determining what wire size for birds?
What do you soak the bird in to preserve the feathers??????
Matthew mc soap and borax. The skin is just wet after rinsing. I edit out the boring parts of the process.
Could you make your gentleman more slowly?
You can slow down the video with UA-cam settings, if that's what you need.
