  • In this video we have a fresh juvenile female Prairie falcon that was a road killed found in Mid September. If this bird would have survived and lived in the prairie till about November, the Buffy colour of the breast feathers would have sun bleached and turned white. we are using the real skull on this bird since the owner requested. The sjull had extensive damage to it due to the road impact and it was all rebuilt with epoxy sculpt. Hope you enjoy the show.

Hi, thanks for the video, I love that you are such a perfectionist 🥰. I'm stuck with the feet, some people inject them some people don't, what do you do? And also how did you preserve your skull so you were able to use it? I like this idea more than carving one. I also like the way you used a kind of foam in yours, this looks much easier than using clay. Your methods obviously work, you can see that in the results. Thanks in advance ☺

      Thanks Annika
My heads are all moulded and casted.
I do inject the feet that’s why they stay plumped. All foam bodies are custom hand carved.

    I have a beginner question , please,
After you remove inside and salt, what do you do? Is there a waiting period before you can stuff and mount ? Your work is amazing. Thank you

you dont salt bird skins. you wash them , borax them and then mount them in the same day... or you can soak them in Borax Alum solution for 6 hrs and then mount.. once you take out of the solution you have pretty much about 8 hrs to mount it, larger birds, more time, smaller birds less time.
