  • Hi friend! First of all, I reached 1,000 subscribers this week. It blows my mind! Thank you so so much for subscribing, watching, and all the lovely comments. You guys are amazing. 💖
In this video I'm making a traditional Finnish Christmas ornament, have brunch with my mum and sister, and visit the Helsinki Christmas Market.
The ornament is called himmeli, and if you have watched my videos before, you'll have seen one hanging by my living room window. I really like the geometric shape of it. They are surprisingly easy to make, I really recommend trying it out if you like crafting and diys. You can find loads of tutorials online, here are a couple of links:

Hope you enjoyed the video, and let me know if you decide to give himmeli-making a go! 😊

This was so relaxing to watch, I have never heard of a himmeli before. Helsinki looks lovely. When I was young my best friend's Mum was Finnish, she married an English man and lived in England for many years but returned to Finland a few years ago.

Thank you. I had forgotten how to make himmeli, used to make them as a child.

What a lovely ornament! You make it look fairly easy, but I suspect it would be a very different story if I were to try. 😂 Helsinki looks beautiful. I thought you would have snow by now. We did have some snow in southern Ontario, Canada, but it melted. Bad weather moving in tonight. Keep well.

In Ukraine we have exactly the same tradition! I live in Sweden now and it’s interesting that the decoration is Finnish despite the Swedish name!

Hello from the US! I noticed them in your window in a video I recently watched and wondered what it was. It's so interesting looking! Thanks for including links to make the himmeli!
