Hi Simon, you got this! You’re an inspiration! Really appreciate the vlogs and details you go into in your videos. I’ll be doing my first IM in Texas, hope to see you there!
Great video. I like the goal of sub 1:18 for the run. As an amateur I would also try and leave as much in the tank as possible for the run as it seemed to be the area where you could make up the most places. The pro races are definitely different now and there is a huge need to stick with the pack on the bike in order to give yourself any chance. Have a great race and I will definitely be following.
Hi Simon, best of luck for the race. I was wondering, how do you feel when you are perfectly using your lats when swimming. Because I never really feel that I am using them. After swimming I "Most" of the time I have a big ass pump in my chest. My pecs feel HUGE. But that tells me I am doing something wrong. Even though I am swimming 1'40min/100m pretty easy. 1'30/35 would be going fast. Sprints are going like a 1'16. Anyways, I am drifting off. My question is how to feel you are using the lats corretly. Thanks in advance and best of luck 👊🏻👊🏻
Thank you! It’s about using everything. Chest shoulders triceps biceps lats. It’s a weird feeling but when you do feel your lats, that means you’re doing it right. It takes time to get that feeling
If you know you are going to have a cold water swim, a week out before race turn the water to full blast cold for 3-4 minutes at end of shower to mentally adapt. No matter cold water swims are a shocker 🥶
Great video I do have to disagree about the stroke rate and distance per stroke for open water swimming in a group of 80 people It’s completely different than pool, swimming the water in open water group swim like there will be an at ocean side is will be very agitated And more difficult to get a grip on the water on like in Pool Swimmer denis where are you have less people, bully lines, and overflow channels to keep the water calm The higher, the stroke the better off to a point For example, a Stroke rate of 60 strokes per minute if you miss one Straw because of hitting another person or not be able to catch solid water, it’s going to impact the swim significantly more than if you’re an 80 or 90 stroke rate per minute Take a look at Lucy Charles, the best swimmer in triathlon. Her Stroke rate is 90+ per minute
Go Simon!! Rooting for you!
Can’t wait to watch you out there! Have fun!!

Good Luck! I’ve enjoyed finding your channel recently!
What size front chainring do you run for your 1x? And do you run 1x exclusively?
Thank you!!!
I run 50t exclusively for the past year now yes
And 10-33 cassette
If there’s a really hilly course, I would go 10-36 cassette
Nice video. Good luck.
Thank you very much!

You going to beat Lionel Sanders???? Or is he going to catch you on the bike?
Ahahahahaha
My goal is to hold him off as long as possible 😆
If that means to the finish and never see him, that would be a dream come true 👍
