I was actually thinking about replacing band saw baldes with different stuff like piano strings, fishing wire etc, to see how well (if at all) can they cut soft wood, so running into this series was a godsend, because it made me realize that I'm not the only one who loves insanely impractical solutions and creating things that can potentially kill people! loved the video!
Thanks for finally letting us know what happened with Dan and Mitch 🤙 Great episode, and great job continuing to grow this channel I’ve loved for many years 🫡
If it's able to cut something even a little bit it's a win in my book. It's safe to say you can use paper and cardboard if you absolutely need to cut something but can't afford to replace the blade. It won't be a pretty cut but a cuts a cut. It's a good thing you're testing different materials. By making these videos your helping those who can't afford to replace a blade until payday. For your next video you should get a sheet of kevlar and laminate it with epoxy resin. Keep up the good work and keep helping people make good financial decisions. I love all of your faces and your big brain energy. If you're reading this I hope you and those you love are having an awesome day. You should honestly start selling custom saw blades and let people pick from a predetermined assortment of different materials. Or. You could surprise the people who buy merchandise with a saw blade made of a material of your choice. It would be a great idea for those who finance your channel. Buy merchandise and get a random saw blade as a gift. 😁
I expected the cardboard to do some damage, but the sheets of paper at the start on their own did well for how thin they are! I'm more impressed than anything
If you guys use a tablesaw or another saw that has way more RPM. You can cut wood with thin paper. You just have to make sure the paper spins really fast 😁.
All blades make a kerf, a cut that is wider than the rest of the blade. The teeth either bend to the side alternating or carbide teeth are the widest point, that could help. Or use the epoxy and paper but sprinkle sand into the epoxy blade area. Like the videos. As a wrote this you did it! Sweet
Glued sand paper and that plastic stuff you used to box up the saw in the glass blade video would also be good videos. Idk if you made them already and I haven’t seen yet but if not they would be good.
You should put measurement marks down the radius of the blade so you can see how much of the saw blade is shaved away compared to how deep into the wood you cut
You should do a video with different fibres in resin. I think you did fibreglass, the obvious next step would be carbon fibre if you haven't already done that. But other fibres would be interesting to compare. Things like cotton, wool, human hair, spider's silk, silk, even copper wire or guitar strings (nylon and steel)! I'm sure there are many other options for multiple videos as well.
You guys should do the skateboard wheel again but with a harder wheel. Also try taking the jet off before the wheel breaks to see if the wheel holds that shape
the resin is not evenly distributed bc in the resin and paper the edges were torn and separated but when you used it the bad parts got removed and the good parts were shown
random request.... could you guys make a full sized sword out of glass pls? or obsidian? i mean, i assume glass is cheaper... i'm really weirdly curious about how much a tampered glass katana would weigh... i wanna know this number so i can compare it with different types of hard materials (titanium, modern armor steel, stuff).
Anything can cut anything if you can figure out a way to store the energy required. In this case, it spins really fast and a lot of energy is stored that way.
Suggestion: with the current test we've used stuff like fibreglass, glass, wood, and in this video cardboard. I think we should use some really hard unbendable stuff that can cut really nicely and isn't fragile.
I got an idea for another sawblade video Sawblades are usually made of steel with carbide teeth, sooooooooo why dont you try making a sawblade out of different grade metal, like try making a aluminum sawblade for example and see how well that fairs
The centres of your discs just keep failing. They really need some kind of larger diameter boss to mount them. If only you had access to some way of making one.

I like cardboards
I LIKE TRAINS!
I like turtles
i like chain saw
I like robots
I like wood
I'm honestly impressed how well the straight paper did.
Honestly, it's impressive how well all these blades work given that you're using a saw from Chicago Electric

Thanks for finally letting us know what happened with Dan and Mitch 🤙
Great episode, and great job continuing to grow this channel I’ve loved for many years 🫡
you know we watch these videos for you just as much as the sawblades. Your humour just clicks!
you should make a saw blade using Nile Red’s bulletproof wood - if that worked it’d be a very funny sequel to your first video

Make An Obsidian Glass Blade obsidian is very sharp
You will do it it’s a good idea
Will you not do it?!?!?!
If so I will seek vengeance by annoying with commenting on every single video asking for it
Do it
Baaaaa
That polished surface is pretty cool. You might be onto something.
I expected the cardboard to do some damage, but the sheets of paper at the start on their own did well for how thin they are! I'm more impressed than anything
Laughed all the way through this video, thank you.
I just won the individual category of our local Santa parade by pushing a wheelbarrow in it.
Should have tried to cut wood with it.
More effective than I expected. I love watching these videos. I am guessing that you are using the 24 hour slow dry resin.
If you guys use a tablesaw or another saw that has way more RPM. You can cut wood with thin paper. You just have to make sure the paper spins really fast 😁.
Exactly. The centrifugal force really helps the paper remain straight and ”stiff”.
Carpbork
Love the honestly at the preface
Why do i suddenly get the idea of a saw blade made out of a "carpet" of cat hair embedded in resin...
Try making a carbon fiber blade, it would be cool to compare with the fiber glass.
Cf is way way too fragile, it would immediately be ripped apart.
;-;
"When life give you lemons. Make life take the lemons back."
Huh
you missed a chance to make the golden play button into a saw blade

You forgot mold release
at this point you just need to make a resin sawblade
M o N k E
I came here to watch someone hit the griddy while someone makes a cardboard saw blade. Peak entertainment.
CAN MY HAND CUT WOOD??
Glued sand paper and that plastic stuff you used to box up the saw in the glass blade video would also be good videos. Idk if you made them already and I haven’t seen yet but if not they would be good.

imagine getting a paper cut with the paper sawblade
When life gives you lemons, you make them into a saw blade.

Try aluminum foil
Or a 3d printed saw blade
My left ear really enjoyed 1:21-1:28
That finish on the one piece you did get through was beautiful. A bit of buffing and waxing and it would look glorious.
You guys should do the skateboard wheel again but with a harder wheel. Also try taking the jet off before the wheel breaks to see if the wheel holds that shape
The best way to start a Saturday with one of your videos and your beautiful
this freaking legend is first, hats off.
The fact that the paper did anything but rip apart is disgusting
3d printed blades with different materials
Now that’s one serious paper cut
the resin is not evenly distributed bc in the resin and paper the edges were torn and separated but when you used it the bad parts got removed and the good parts were shown
I miss the days with that guy who licks things. They really put a lot of work into their videos. :)
Yeah, me too. What happened to those guys?
My left ear loved this video! ☺️👂
Ahh, I understand now
Whistle
You should make a sawblade out of rubber
Ideas for saw blades:
Money
Plaster
Plastic
Drywall
Concert
Yeah that’s it
How about a miter saw powered polisher? It might be cool to make like an end table where the whole top was finished all black and shiny
Ah the Waterjet Channel
Where else can I see ads for companies selling Waterjets?
You should try glue down laminate for countertops. Another thing would 12”x12” vinyl floor tile.
You should try aluminum for a next video
Should talk to Nigel (NileRed) and get a chunk of his densified wood to try
Bro is finding the cheapest material out of which sawblades can be made cuz he likes money and doesn't wanna lose money buying sawblades
How much card could a cardboard board, if a cardboard could board cards?
I love this He is using wood to cut wood, so meta
roll the cardboard through a small pile of the carbide grit instead of pouring it
I'm not locked in here with resin, resin's locked in here with me. 🙂
Did you try out pykrete 😉?
Video idea: prince Rupert’s drop vs water jet
now use the paper sawblade to cut a pair of scissors.
random request.... could you guys make a full sized sword out of glass pls? or obsidian? i mean, i assume glass is cheaper...
i'm really weirdly curious about how much a tampered glass katana would weigh... i wanna know this number so i can compare it with different types of hard materials (titanium, modern armor steel, stuff).
On a normal saw blade, the teeth are wider than the main circular body. This prevents the vast majority of the friction and burning you experience.
Carbon Fiber with Twill weave, 22.5 degree separation between 4 layers. try that!
Try regular sandpaper to cut wood :)
Turn sawdust into sawblade, infinite loop 😎
I wonder how sharp and effective a obsidian saw blade would be. but just be careful if you actually do it, obsidian can be very brittle and very sharp
We at The Saw Blade Society are watching you closely. Verrrry closely.
You like money? I like money! We should hang out.
Idea: make a saw blade out of clay
Josh hucherson whistle LOL THATS MY 2ND FAVORITE SONG XD
You should try to make a brick one or even maybe like old timey bricks where it’s straw in clay
make a stone blade, a glass blade, a tape blade
Anything can cut anything if you can figure out a way to store the energy required. In this case, it spins really fast and a lot of energy is stored that way.
I think if you were to coat the cardboard in resin, vacuum out the air, then let pressure back in, and then let it dry, you would have better luck...
Next sawblade material paper
Make one of obsidian
Pls
It’s one of sharpest materials in the world
You should definitely do it
Obsidians cool
And you tried a bunch of other glasses why not obsidian glass
Can you make a sawblade out of hardened steel
Ultimate paper cut..
How about tin foil in layers, cheers from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺 👍
okay but, stick with me here, what about a dinner plate?
The paper was good for being fragile so I give it a A- 1:01
You should water cool your waterjet cut saw blade while it cuts.
No way this guy just put the vsauce music
Saw blades ideas:
- Sandpaper
- Denim
- Wood
- Aluminum foil
- tin cans
- a lumber's shirt
- bismuth

Can we get a saw blade made out of some sort of fabric like material
dude you're going to get miner's lung
Me just thinking of the paper cuts from the paper saw
do a saw blade made of elmers glue
We need a lick test approval
Can you cut wood with vinyl?
Suggestion: with the current test we've used stuff like fibreglass, glass, wood, and in this video cardboard. I think we should use some really hard unbendable stuff that can cut really nicely and isn't fragile.
Such as metal?
@@SuperIdol-x7zno I don't think metal will work
Flint would be an interesting modernisation of old technology.
bet next material will be plastic or alternatives to it
1:14 ungodly papercut 💀
Try makeing some saw blades that are differant thickness of metal I think that would be really interesting
bro discovered sand paper
You should try aluminum foil
can you blow my whistle baby whistle baby let me know
idk
You don't know why you don't know why you woke up you don't know why you're leaving stop commenting if you don't have nothing beautiful to say
I got an idea for another sawblade video
Sawblades are usually made of steel with carbide teeth, sooooooooo why dont you try making a sawblade out of different grade metal, like try making a aluminum sawblade for example and see how well that fairs
Maybe try using even more layers paper?.
