I had the misfortune of renting one of these a couple years ago when my gen coupe got tapped. The thing was basically brand new, 2020 with only 21k miles. Somehow during my 20 mile commute to work, it decided it didn’t want to have oil pressure anymore and the motor shut off completely. This was while traveling 50mph up hill through a construction zone with a semi behind me. It then refused to start and had to be towed away (hopefully to the crusher). The fact that anybody would pay $41k to OWN one of these, or any modern crossover “Jeep” is unfathomable to me, and will never make sense.
You can find a new Mercedes Benz GLA or GLB for that price. Normally I wouldn’t suggest Mercedes because of reliability concerns, but compared to a Stellantis era Jeep product? The Mercedes is more reliable.
This thing will be on a buy-here-pay-here lot in 2 years for $14,995 with 5 black ice fresheners trying to cover the scent of menthols and a "pitbull mom" sticker on the back glass.
I rode in a 2021 Compass, and I thought the seats and ride was comfortable. The whole vehicle had a very solid feel to it. Only thing I did not like, was the transmission and how it behaved. I'm glad they changed that in these newer models.
@@inherentlyflawed LMAO a car from 1983 isn't going to feel as structurally solid as a vehicle today. The Jeep actually feels more solid than my 03 Saturn L200 or even my friends 2010 Grand Cherokee.
No shit the adaptive cruise control didnt work well you were on route 17 😂. I lived in jersey all my life and never used cruise control because traffic be so unpredictable
I have a 2023 Compass “4x4” it’s my daily car that I use to go to work. It’s currently sitting at the dealership getting the differential replaced for the second time with 22 thousand miles…
My wife had a Compass latitude for a rental. She didn’t like it that much but liked it better than a Mazda CX-40. It felt sturdy for its size but not as planted as a Bronco Sport.
I will say, local dealers near me have these listed $10k+ below sticker price. So while the MSRP is ridiculous, I feel most people RARELY pay that amount.
I rented one of these for a week last summer for my trip to coastal Maine. I thought it was pretty decent car but the powertrain was a bit jerky. $41k goes a long way at Honda, Toyota, and Subaru though. Resale value on these is terrible too. If you really want a Compass, buy one used from one of the rental car companies.
As a native New Jerseyan you have my sympathies for being on the GSP. 1 of 2 roads in NJ I truly despise. Also, there is no adaptive cruise on earth that can handle NJ traffic.
$41,000 for a flipping COMPASS!!!!??? Oh hellllll nawwww - these things started at $16k-$20k in 2007 and they’ve just gotten CRAPPIER!! Stellantis needs to be nationalized ASAP 😂😂😂
Some people just have to have that Jeep logo. Jeep is a luxury brand now, selling the image of go-anywhere do-anything. The problem is that these are not luxury vehicles and are not compelling if you look at just about any other compact crossover. I like this one's body kit but I would never buy one and especially not at that price. It's an old and somewhat mediocre Fiat platform. Like German cars, lease it and get rid of it before the warranty expires.
Imagine having $41k either cash on hand or borrowing power, and instead of buying a nice pre owned Escalade, f150 or highlander, and instead buying this junk
That’s crazy money for that vehicle.

41k nightmare + headache.

41 Grand for a Compass. How do those people sleep at night, seriously
I want to these people. Lol...
This product and this price is a GREAT EXAMPLE of why Stellantis is having its continuing meltdown.
I thought “$41k for a Cherokee is crazy” …and then I saw that it was a Compass. Even worse.
You can find a new Mercedes Benz GLA or GLB for that price.

41k for such a small crossover is absurd
This thing will be on a buy-here-pay-here lot in 2 years for $14,995 with 5 black ice fresheners trying to cover the scent of menthols and a "pitbull mom" sticker on the back glass.
I feel like this trim level should be $35,000 max. $41,000 is absolutely excessive. 💯
Even that's too much
41k for a compass?! LMFAO can't wait to see these still on lots in a couple years.
Stellantis has lost their damn minds. No wonder they are struggling to sell products and having to idle their plants
You get a POS vehicle from the industry's least reliable company.
Every time I get a rental car I cross my fingers hoping I’m not stuck with a FCA product..
The meh Lemon from Jeep.
Tossed👌out before lunch on a Friday mayonnaise.
I sell jeeps in the uk and the two compass's we get are a 1.5 (130bhp) 2wd self charging hybrid, and a 1.5 (240bhp) plug in hybrid 4xe
that just sounds horrendous

You need to drive something that’s actually been made well then, if those things impress you try a Honda civic from 1983

I believe Regular Car Reviews stated that this vehicle is you're looking for a Cherokee...but on a budget.

FIRST, do you take car requests since you borrow some cars from dealerships?
Not bad for $21,000. Oh wait...

Especially Honda's adaptive cruise, speaking from personal experience
Yeah. The GSP is rough.
@@zaremol2779 everyone talks about Nissan and Infiniti, but Honda drivers are sneaky bad in NJ.
@@theBatmanGoeth2 I was talking about how jerky the adaptive cruise system is in Hondas, it's no match for the typical NJ driving habits
You can get a rav4 or CRV for less money. This price is absolute insanity. Stellantis learned nothing from the Hornet.
41k and still no 360 camera. What a joke. Already an overpriced pos
Awful SUV, then there's the price. You see the problem Stellantis has.
That’s wild pricing😅
Not even for 31k the design is so old now it came out in 2017
And jeep isnt known for there quality
The Chevy trax of jeeps
Going to guess they have some cash on the hood
41k for a compass is crazy
Unless you’re buying a manual transmission wrangler don’t buy a jeep . RAV4 or cr-v will last twice as long as this.

Just put the nail in the stellantis coffin already
sounds like a stellantis gamble to me...
41k!!! for THIS
I guess its no-car over this Mopar 😮💨
The more sad part is just that how unreliable this shit is really, you aren't even getting a long lasting product
That’s too much money and not even worth it.
You’d be better off with a used Lexus NX instead.
For thatttttt?
Imagine having $41k either cash on hand or borrowing power, and instead of buying a nice pre owned Escalade, f150 or highlander, and instead buying this junk
I'm done buying used cars. I bought my Subaru Outback for $31k and it was far from fully loaded. $41k can get a nice Subaru or Honda or Mazda.
$40 thousand ????
Yeah...and I'm a mopar guy
41k ☠️
