Following your journey has reignited my desire to continue my own journey as an author. For years I would have imaginative bursts, whether a character, or scene, or plot / subplot…I have notes and story starters all over the place! I have checked out Brandon Sanderson’s writing courses online, and my wife even surprised me with the Mistborn trilogy. I read fiction, science fiction, and fantasy-notably Tolkien’s Hobbit / LotR and RA Salvatore’s Dark Elf Trilogy. I enjoy your daily updates, Father!
I have a 16-17 page worldbuilding document for one of my projects but I got so overwhelmed by the details that I had to let it sit for a bit, and then in that 1-2 month time frame the idea completely changed. Now I think I'm going to have to throw out what I've done and start over. This is maybe the 7th? time the story has changed and I've had to rework it since I started a little over a year ago and I still don't have a complete draft because of that 😭 While it's frustrating, I think the constant changing is just part of the process. I'm finding that starting the writing for fantasy or scifi is a lot harder than it seems because the worldbuilding informs the storytelling more than with some other genres. I think if you have to take more time with the worldbuilding phase before you get to writing phase it's okay, and there's no need to rush yourself if you're still figuring things out, especially since you have the added element of needing to incorporate historical research. If the worldbuilding is solid and fleshed out beforehand, even if takes a lot of time to get to that point, I think the actual story will be a bit easier to write because you'll have a clearer idea of what the foundation is
You are my primary source of inspiration. You're pushing forward, and I'm sure you'll make a great fantasy novel that I will buy to read. I am currently studying theology to become a pastor, but I am deeply afraid that my church may get angry with me for writing fantasy. I have sometimes thought of dropping out of college to get rid of that fear, since I will not stop nor yield. Which is why I feel encouraged watching your videos and seeing your progress.
It's unfortunate that fantasy literature faces stigma in certain Christian circles. I've experienced my share of criticism within my own church over the years, often stemming from fear and misunderstanding. It's frustrating, especially when you know how much storytelling and fantasy mean to so many people. You demonstrate admirable character by following your moral compass and holding true to your values. Never let go of what you believe is right and good, despite the fear of displeasing some. If you don't mind me asking, which denomination are you part of?

Thanks for reading my comments!
hate to do this, but Lír is pronounced more like "Lur" 🙂(picky or what...?)
Thanks! As I said, I need an Irish language coach 😂
Leer, because "í" is a long vowel.
