Thats so interesting. Imagining a young frail looking kid suddenly channel a saint like Padre Pio and make quick work of a demon in a wrestling match, what a scene that would be haha! The bilocation could be fun to play around with as well. This could tie in with the idea that Tim is teaching children in the monestary with those figurines of his. Maybe this new kid is one of his pupils? Maybe even Tim underestimates him then sees the power of his prayers (seeing him heal someone comes to mind) and then is like "wait a minute this kids got magic like me, I should look out for him."

What a cool concept! I love the team of characters you are building, and I've never read a magic system quite like yours. Have you ever watched The Secret of Kells? Although very different, it does have a few similarities to your story in terms of setting and magic--it's a very beautiful animated movie by a small Irish studio, Cartoon Saloon, about an Irish monastery trying to survive against an impending Viking attack. The story follows the young nephew of the Abbott who longs to learn the secrets of illustrating manuscripts, his friendship with a fairy, and the role of beauty in the fight against darkness. Highly recommend!

Oh, it seems sooo good! I like the team-up stories, and the idea of the fragile boy and his unique gift is great! It would be interesting when he meets the charasteristics of some future saints.

I'm still super excited about this part of the book. Still a bit daunting to write all these different characters without any prior experience, but I'll give it a try!

I love the idea of Tim and Elara becoming part of a larger team. Look into the trope of the Five Man Band. Tim sounds like he could be a leader, with Fortivus being his foil (think Zuko and Han Solo in contrast to Aang/Luke Skywalker). Elara can act as the powerhouse while her younger sister can be the brains and Tim's brother is basically the team wild card, acting as the emotional center of the team.

Cool idea, very relatable today. Have you read up on our old Brehon laws, applicable around that time? It should allow your characters to feel more modern without being anachronistic.

Love the idea of Christian’s and pagans working together, perhaps unwillingly at first with lots of distrust. Perhaps the pagans feel their magic weakening as Christianity expands through the land. You could also show the sad effects of that upon the tuatha de danaan, as their culture and power wanes. Send the group through a fey land on their quest.
