Priests shouldn't write fantasy novels?!? Shouldn't imitate our Creator God by imagining new worlds, and new characters?!? Please never let those comments discourage you. As a fantasy enthusiast, I must admit I'm biased, but I firmly believe in the importance of Christians (both priests and otherwise :) ) writing fantasy, it's such a beautiful expression of a creative God's image in us. Perhaps it isn't 'blatant' ministry--but author S.D. Smith has a beautiful analogy about how a beautiful tree next to a clear river does not need to have John 3:16 carved onto it in order to be glorifying to God. He says, in the same way, a good and beautiful story does not have to quote the Gospel in order to bring God glory.
