Thanks again for the support! Yeah I was replacing 13 doors, and the closers when I got the idea to use the arms off the automatic door closers. It's one of the things about building a rat rod you can use so many different things to create car parts. I've got a steering wheel that I made out of a single groove pulley, My console is made out of a retired missile part, I hope I can utilize a part that I got out of a C-130 jet engine for my air intake. Thanks again Robert.
Thanks Bill I appreciate your comment. I have the top off the car right now making repairs. When I put the top back on I will do a more detailed video on how I built the mechanism.
I'm planning on Whacking the top off of my '72 f100 . So I will eventually need a top Your video is most helpful. Lots of good clear shots of how the folding mechanism was put together.
Thanks I replaced about 15 frames and doors and I was looking at the closer arms I thought how well they pivot and slid inside of each other l could Make them work out for a convertible top mechanism so very cool appreciate your comment
This Rat Rod is to cool, I will be back here in the morning to watch the rest of the video and more, have to go to the neighbors now to have a wine (Vino) lol
I love that Rag Top, there is some good engineering in the mechanism, i also watch the video on repairing the side and door, i saw it on the home page but couldn't find it in the videos to comment on, but it was really good, catch you on the next one
it was great timing, I was replacing some Norton door closers at the time when I was making that mechanism. so it worked out awesome. Thanks for watching! 😁👍

Very-Very Cool Robert👍 You’ve put a ton of thought and Engineering into that top! Thanks for showing the details👍Your welds look very sweet… welding is not a strong skill of mine! …. It’s on my bucket list to practice more and get better… Thanks!
Yeah Kev sometimes in my video I'll mention that I look at everything to see if I can turn it into a car part .so when I'm at work nothing is safe around me. 🥴
Absolutely brilliant repurposing the door closers. 👍👍👍
