Disclaimer: I highly value bass in any music, this is just a meme. Also, in most cases, people won't care about bass. Some don't even fucking know the difference with a guitar. Of course there are great, legendary players in metal.
This is what i love about the metal community. Where it's so open and accepting that a youtuber can just find himself on stage with one of the biggest bands in the scene, having no clue what the hell he's doing, and everyone just going with it and having a good time lol
A youtuber with a widespread fan-base, who has quite a lot of ins in the industry and thus is in frequent contact with a lot of bands. Not just any youtuber. A well-established professional band doesn't let just "a youtuber" perform with them. The ones that do, do so with a bit of planning on the backend that the audience is rarely ever told of.
I remember when rappers would bring people on stage to sing along, but alot of them would be white people, who can't rap along because the words used, so now you just don't see it anymore.
I fucking love imagining the pantomime of him being like "look, Nik, it's ok. It's just like a big ol' guitar. It can't hurt you. You like guitar, right? Don't you wanna play the big guitar in front of all these people? Come on bud, you can do it!"
I guess the moral of this story is, in the future, you should just learn the bass parts of every hit song by whoever's playing at any show you attend? Or just get drunk and wing it.
Funny thing. I was at this show. I was in the pit this whole song losing my mind and I’m a huge fan. Didn’t even notice anything of this happening until two days after the show. 😂😂😂
It was awesome seeing you live, and thanks for talking to me and my buddies after the show too, you're a super chill guy and I will always support you and your content! Thank you for all that you do for the Metal scene. I'M SO PUMPED FOR NEW TERMINA STUFF IN THE FUTURE >:D
This is why I love the metal community. Especially the live setting. It so welcoming. Even on my cringiest moments on stage, the crowd carries you forward. It's all love! Everyone wants a good time
My man, performing live with no idea of what’s going on requires serious courage… And a bit of that liquor too. You killed it there my man, despite not knowing what’s going on! Keep rocking my dude 🤘
I've been playing live shows for a few months ths now. The BIGGEST thing I've learned, no one cares. If you fuck up, most won't know or even realize it. There might be one or 2 people but they are there to have a good time, so again, they don't care. I mess up from time to time myself, and I just play it off and come back in where ever I can, as quick as I can. You did great brother! Looks like one hell of a show. I can't wait to play venues and shows like this one day.
I played bass for another band on stage one night wasn't my bass but i knew all there songs far as listening not playing. my monitors weren't working so I follow kick drum like you did and i got complements on my playing and i was making it up as i went cause live you cant tell what song they were playing unless you were infront of pa which we were behind it
Dude ur lucky. I sang second heartbeat with avenged 10 years ago and i didnt have anything like in ear or monitors and it was an outdoor stage so i what i was hearing was nothingness and drum cymbals lol. Yea my singing sucked
This is just awesome, this is it, this is how metal community works. Once I was pushed on the stage during one grindcore band set, vocalist puted his stinky wrestling mask on my head and just gives me the mike, for a minute or two I was boss on the stage:)
This reminds me of my friends bands farewell show when they got me on stage for the screaming part at the end but I had no idea of 75% of the lyrics but I went for it anyway 😂
*It was fun*
😂😂😂
🤣
Epic man
Dude what a fun video!! i laughed trough the entire 6 min video. this things ive did it and its so much fun!! cheers from ARGENTINA!!
Nick, The Bassist for Parkway Drive didn't even know the first thing about playing bass when he first played with the band. you're good, bro
"No one cared, no one heard"
Every metal bass player's life.
except Cliff Burton, Steve Digorgio, and Les Claypool...
you just need good hearing and tuned ears

I just assumed it wasn’t plugged in

Ooh shit! My comment literally is just like yours 😂 lmao I thought It posted twice 😂😂
You will never forget that experience, lol. We need more drunk Nik playing bass.
I was in pit for that whole song and I didn't even see you were on stage until I saw Tuck was crowd surfing without his bass
😂😂😂 bro I was in the pit, same shit but I didn’t even know at any poing this occurred
I was in the pit too and I never noticed nik until the end lmao
pit people don't even look at the show , they look at the flying arms and who's gonna hit em and who u're going to fall onto :D
Moral of the story: Sometimes, you just have to say "fuck it" and take that leap of faith.
real life Nik Nocturnal is a total vibe
I fucking love imagining the pantomime of him being like "look, Nik, it's ok. It's just like a big ol' guitar. It can't hurt you. You like guitar, right? Don't you wanna play the big guitar in front of all these people? Come on bud, you can do it!"
Are we not gonna mention the irony in Nik of all people playing bass
Lmfao I’m only just now coming across this video, but you’re absolutely right. The sweetest irony.
Wow, tipsy Nik is a whole different person, he even knows that bass is the superior string based instrument👀
Woah woah woah woah woah...
wooooah there bud we've talked better before
I don't know what you're talking about there ngl...
nah like nik said. "no one heard and on one cared" XD
I guess the moral of this story is, in the future, you should just learn the bass parts of every hit song by whoever's playing at any show you attend? Or just get drunk and wing it.
Was awesome seeing you up there homie 🤘🔥
This was so epic fam. Everyone loves you dude 😂
Nik will never live down holding a bass
Nik playing bass live 😂 how perfect
Tipsy Nik is my spirit animal
peer pressure and liquid courage strikes again!
At least, it was to do some good. Not the ''I can take him on!'' angry vibe.
I absolutely love that Tuck is trying to teach you the song right before you’re supposed to play it live 😂
Funny thing. I was at this show. I was in the pit this whole song losing my mind and I’m a huge fan. Didn’t even notice anything of this happening until two days after the show. 😂😂😂
Drunk Nik playing bass on stage.. never knew I needed that, but now I know I did. 😂 Sabian - the Liquid Courage Man aka Kakashi Sensei
Plot twist the bass was unplugged
I met Lochie on tuesday probably the best Alpha Wolf show of my life. They deserve to headline soooo bad.
It was awesome seeing you live, and thanks for talking to me and my buddies after the show too, you're a super chill guy and I will always support you and your content! Thank you for all that you do for the Metal scene. I'M SO PUMPED FOR NEW TERMINA STUFF IN THE FUTURE >:D
fit for a king are so fucking good live, so cool that you got this experience
All that was missing - was saying “hi” before the bit 😂
ONE OF US ONE OF US ONE OF US
What a legendary moment!!
This is why I love the metal community. Especially the live setting. It so welcoming. Even on my cringiest moments on stage, the crowd carries you forward. It's all love! Everyone wants a good time
That’s AWESOME!! I saw them on that tour with my 18 and my 14 year old and I will go see FFAK everytime I get the opportunity!!!
having nik jump on the bass, not knowing the song, yet no one noticed he fucked up is making metal bassist real nervous right now lol
It was sick live man popped hard when you came out!
So what you're saying is... Sabian got you drunk on purpose & the whole thing was a setup 😂
My man, performing live with no idea of what’s going on requires serious courage… And a bit of that liquor too.
You killed it there my man, despite not knowing what’s going on! Keep rocking my dude 🤘
You could say Nik is the liquor
@@The_knife_master6661 yeah man!
Even though you had no clue wtf was going on and tipsy as fuck you were fun to watch nik
Dude, be honored. Even if you didn't know the part they believed in your skills and thought you could pick it up on the fly
We just recently saw Fit for a king as opener in concert and liked them better than the band we were there for 😊
Same happened for me when they were supporting Alpha Wolf in Aus.

Dude your channel is amazing lately. I’m so inspired by what you’re doing man. That looked like so much fun. Big props dude. Wish I saw that

I love this! FFAK is awesome for getting Nik up there. I want to see drunk Nik playing with more bands 👀 🤘🏾!
This is me in my dreams. I don’t know wtf I’m doing
I was looking for this comment. This sounds like every nightmare I ever had before playing a show
Absolutely fantastic!
One of my dreams is to sing on stage with any of my favorite bands. I'm not a formality trained vocalist but I would give anything to do it
I met Sabian at a show in Kentucky last year, had a 5 minutes talk about his guitars, he’s a dope dude.
Saw the show in Montreal, hoped Nic would pop up !
Big ups for nik
Dude... This is the worst nightmare for everyone and you owned it! Heck yes!
best concert ive ever been to, between getting one of sabian's picks and a clean ass video of nik's "playing", and the whole vibe, it was SO good
It's been confirmed Nik is the liquor (iykyk)
Saw them in mn a couple weeks ago. Killer set but was surprised they chose god of fire instead of breaking the mirror 😭
You’re surprised they went with a single from their newest album?
Saw Fit For a King at the Uptown in KC last year, they play pretty great live. would've been cool to see you their too
Bro is living an actual rockstar life
So sick !!! You’ve been playing guitar and they ask you to hop on bass 😂
Nik really just out here as a main character
Honestly this is awesome
Fit For A King (Northlane, Alpha Wolf)
FFAK is my favorite core band, and this made me like them even more!!
Haha I was at that show!! So happy to see you ☺️
Its okay you said it was just "copy, paste," I'm crying laughing
That's so wholesome.
“I have no clue what the fuckin part was” merch when?
Was there in the flesh. Witnessed the slapping ofda bass
man, you're a legend, what can I say haha
you're a lucky guy! this is epic!
This is too good 😂🤟
I was quite shocked to see Nik in his burgundy sweater suddenly appear... I took a double take like, "Was that HIM?" lol
They seem like cool dudes!
Seeing this live was nuts
Dude ur lucky. I sang second heartbeat with avenged 10 years ago and i didnt have anything like in ear or monitors and it was an outdoor stage so i what i was hearing was nothingness and drum cymbals lol. Yea my singing sucked
As a grey head, I love seeing the live improv still alive.
This is just awesome, this is it, this is how metal community works. Once I was pushed on the stage during one grindcore band set, vocalist puted his stinky wrestling mask on my head and just gives me the mike, for a minute or two I was boss on the stage:)
That was awesome lmao. I’m so mad I missed this stream.
I was drunk as fuck at that show and only found out after the show that Nik was even there
Everything about this was great 🤣
I love that in the Linkin Park video Nik makes fun of the bass only to play it here.
This is what happens when you get wholesome dudes who love the Lord!
I wanna see you play The River Live with Wage War!
This is the benefit of playing bass. Even if you don't know what you're doing, no one hears it anyway
Welcome to the bass gang
This reminds me of my friends bands farewell show when they got me on stage for the screaming part at the end but I had no idea of 75% of the lyrics but I went for it anyway 😂
Braaaahhhh!!! That’s awesome makes me wanna start a band again.
Haha that’s amazing!!! I’m glad you had fun!
I dont think anyone cared about you not knowing the part. It's not usual for a damn giant to play bass randomly at a concert. Holy hell Nik is tall.
“I have never even played a bass before.”
This is coming from a guy who played bass for Cole Rolland’s cover of Every Time We Touch lol
Legendary my man
alright you inspired me, next time my friends in bands spontaneously ask me to sing on stage with them, i'll just go for it
As crush the turtle would say : "Righteous! Righteous!"
Lol
Okay..
This is Gold.
About time you started doing stuff in the real world
Tuck is such a damn troll lol. He’s very a cool dude though.
I got to see them perform the day after at their Montréal show and it was fucking amazing! I wish I could’ve seen you play bass, though.
This is a hilarious story
3:51 bro what, that guy just mario-piped
Wow! I love them, and I love you as well!
"i'm sure it's 0" HAHAHAHAHAHA
The Art of Peer Pressure from an Australian. Fucken nice work Sab
Shit like that is the most fun sometimes 😂
Hell yeah man, cool shit!
overthinking at it's finest , he went there and it was fine :D
You’ve become the very thing you’ve sworn to destroy
