They had no need to give Crump 3 different themes. Just deciding to do that shows that these devs loved this game.
Oh- absolutely. Between this, some cutscenes being even better now, the added expression to a lot of characters, the new music in general, and even some new content, including the scrapped whack boss battle, it goes to show how much love was put into this remake, which makes the 30 fps decision all the stranger.
@@Mojo1356 I genuinely think the 30 FPS thing was a hardware limitation. I know everyone’s gonna say “But it’s a remastered GameCube game!”, but that’s not 100% true. The new lighting and graphics engines utilized are very obvious, and I think that plays a big part in why they had to cap the frame rate (I’d assume 60 wasn’t stable). Besides, I played the game and I felt no difference in difficulty (however I am very casual a gamer so keep that in mind).
@@mreverything7056 I think what happened is that they might have increased the number of frames to pull off actions to compensate whereas BIS DX did not compensate for the same problem.
@@mreverything7056 are you sure? I thought Origami King, which should be using the same engine as this remake, ran at a mostly consistent 60 fps.
@@Mojo1356 Tbh man I have no clue. I’m just trying to rationalize it to the best of my ability. I’m ASSUMING there’s a performance reason, I just couldn’t tell you for sure what it is. I do feel the same about why origami king pulled it off but this remake doesn’t, but at the very least it doesn’t affect the gameplay to a degree that I could consistently notice.
Biggest musical glowup in video game history.
Honestly, this might be my favorite of his 3 new battle themes. They're all great and perfectly suited to their contexts, but I just ADORE how this one fades between the two styles of his later battle themes.
Buh! Buh! Buh huh huh! Oh, man, have I been waiting for this to come out! And I HAAAAAAAAATE waiting!
That new breakdown part they added at 1:05 goes so hard! And I love that they used that little synth instrument from the Unsettling Area battle theme from Origami King for it; it has a really fun quirky energy to it that fits Lord Crump (and Magnus) really well!
You guys crying yet? Yeah??
Sorry, but this thing's not armed with tissues!
Magnus von Grapple has that effect on people: Total, weeping TERROR!
This is one of the songs I can imagine canonically playing in the battle. Magnus probably has built-in speakers that absolutely blast this song.
There's speakers on the sides of the stage so these tracks canonically play during battle
And for 2.0, Crump definitely super-upgraded the speakers for his perfect rave-trouncing session.
Easily my favorite boss theme of this game. I just love how over the top, goofy and obnoxious this remix is. Close second is the Shadow Sirens Battle theme.
It’ll never happen, but imagine this theme orchestrated live…. Getting chills just thinking about it
1:07 The Color Splash bloop instrument clashes perfectly with the other instruments here
bloop
I
I like the opening of the original better for how it sounds more dynamic. Otherwise, this is better since it has more going on and doesn’t have such a short loop.
0:29 this part is good af tho! gave me goosebumps
We going back to the moon with this one!!
Uh, no. That’s a different variation of this theme.
Uuuh, this is the Chapter 2 one
Always found the original version kinda eh, so this is a huge glow up in every way imo
Right when the boss fight starts, Mario’s partner will remark that something “doesn’t seem right” about Magnus Von Grapple.
What are they talking about? Its defense point? The fact that it can fire off its fists? Or something else entirely?
I always assumed it was the 3d-ness of it for some reason
Goombella questions its design sensibilities, specifically the color.
The color, Goombella says something is off about the color decision
More like the fact she's finds it absurd that the 2D materials can composite itself into a 3D form that has matter inside when it didn't originally
it looks a bid... odd...
This goes so hard!
this theme is amazing to me tbh in that it conveys, through music alone, that lord crump may be a goofy bastard that's hard to take seriously and very quirky, but still ABSOLUTELY a threat that shouldn't be taken lightly
Nah, Crump absolutely knows what he's doing and has *_ALWAYS_* been one step ahead in every plan he was personally involved with; he is definitely one of those "talented and knows it" kinds of bad guy... he just happens to sound like *_a complete and utter goofball_* whenever he opens his mouth. 😂
Good god they went hard with this
1:04 - 1:19 has no right to go this hard
As a Paper Mario game, they in fact have every right to go this hard.
@@tristang7982you have a point, origami king and the TTYD remake are some of my favourite osts in all of gaming
Boys get the x-naut costumes out, it’s Crumpin’ time
The Lord Crump remixes seem to take some cues from Brobot L-Type from SPM!
Buh buh ha ha ha ha! Great ready for a technological thrashing, with metal fists on the house!
GOOOOOOOOOOO MAGNUUUUUS VON GRAPPLEEEEEEEE!
Metal fists to spare, so you better beware!
Yeah that's right! Be scared! 'cause you'll snap and crackle.
Buh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh!
Technological thrashing like you've never seen!
1:04 This screams “I’M JUST GETTING STARTED!!!”
0:50 ........ _Bruh_
Bruh! Huh! Bruh huh huh!
If it wouldn’t be too much work, could you extend Crump’s other too boss themes please?
Becoming crunchy...!
At this point, make Lord Crump the main antagonist!
A) More Themes (3? > 1)
B) More Character Development and Interactions (With Mario, Bowser, etc)
C) More Relatable and Funny
D) In My Opinion, Better Design
You see Grodus so little that it seems like he isn't even the leader of the X-Nauts. Other than Intermissions as Princess Peach, Grodus is only present and plays a massive impact on the story during the Palace of Shadow.
I've also seen posts about fans wanting to visit the X-Nauts post-game. I think this would benefit Grodus and allow him to have more interactions with Mario. And it further makes characters like Lord Crump even better!
the entire point of his character is that he's a terrible underling
I want a version of this but add the robot beat from the og song
i never knew what i was missing out on when i played this game, only ever playing origami king, this and TOK are number one.
Why didn’t they use this for MVG 2?
"Let's get to work!"
If they changed the sqeuaky instrument in the new loop part, id be fine with it.
DON'T BLASPHEME AGAINST THE COLOR SPLASH BLOOPS
0:50
Damn.
