TheSomeoneXD Don't forget building outrageous ridiculously expensive machines that no consumer would ever use and on the other hand building some janky ass shit (like his own cpu heatsink that sucked balls). Linus and his motley crew are slowly becoming the Top Gear of computer(chip) based tech.
Linus got me thru high school, college and now grad school. Whenever life got tough I just watched some of his reviews and dreamed of building my ideal machine and that made it all better. He has a great style, he's very meticulous, he goes into great detail, I'm really happy for all of his success.
I love his channel. His attention to detail, his scrutiny and professionalism while still being relatable has been fantastic for me to get an idea on tech and then make my own decision. Plus, as a father of an almost 2 year old, I know how tired he must be, and how little time for himself he has, yet he still releases great content regularly. He's funny too.
Yea, poor Linus :(. He is doing something whats not payed very well, or not payed at all. He have like "thousand" PC`s with all the best gear, and a lot of other staff thats worth a lot of money. And earning a lot from youtube videos. Poor him :(
When i saw Linus for the first time he started out as my "gateway drug" to the tech side of youtube and pretty much inspired me to make a beast gaming pc and ditch console gaming forever. I also learned a great deal about technology from his main channel and tech quickie. I guess if it wasn't for linus i would probably be sitting rn playing cod on the ps4 not giving a shite about technology.
+Doughnut Digger watching ncix and linus tech tips in the morning while sipping coffee has become a daily routine for me. it wouldn't feel right not watching them.
While watching this, I had a blast from the past: I remember me on a hot summer afternoon, sitting on the rocking sofa in my parent's garden, reading a magazine about pcs and tech stuff. It was mid 90's. I remember an article about the next big thing that was about to come: AGP. And I remember the review of a graphic card, where someone stated that it was "monstrous" for it to have something like 32 Megs of RAM. Good old times...
Truly an inspiration. The tech world can be brutal. I've learned just about everything by how not to do something give or take a few lucky acts of the universe. I've just recently ran across this video and I've watched your various content NCIXcom, LinusTechTips, Techquickie. On an education stand point going through the process of a "How To" of a small home setup from the modem, switch, router your new PC to your own small server with a affordable NAS, maybe throw in some virtualization (configuration) with the software, programs and or skills needed. I know you have touched on all these areas at some point of your video creation just having it all in a series would be awesome (As a how to for your home setup). I've learned a lot from UA-cam alone. People like you make UA-cam a fun and educational place. Hats off to you Linus.
TigerDirect was the inspiration for NCIX's channel! No one can match up to Logan's sense of humour though. He doesn't work for TigerDirect anymore but he's still hilarious.
Love your content Linus, I know you will never read this, but you made me interest myself in technology, and now im studying computer engineering thanks to you. You have no idea how much I appreciate that. Changed my life.
Your channel is what helped me understand something I loved since I was very young: computers. Your channel helped me find other great channels that were tech related. Your channel got me into the field of IT. The initiative to make great tech content on youtube from you and others very much started with your content. There is a wealth out there because you helped burst the bubble and show a career like this could be possible. Thank you Linus and the rest of your crew.
Thanks Linus! I gave up building my first computer 15 years ago! Thanks to your channel and at age 30 I'm now going for the gusto. I have the case and the motherboard, with plenty parts to go.
Nice video, thank you for sharing and giving back. I agree with you on collaboration, there needs to be more of it, the world is wide enough for a lot of different points of view. CBS wouldn't be the same without NBC and ABC, as an example (American TV networks, but you probably know that)
Myno Craft Wish I knew of them before I got my pair of Corsair Vengeance (cheapest available at the time)... I also found some Avexir ones but they aren't available to me... q.q
I've learned so much watching tech channels, and Linus was one of my first, I really appreciate what they've done, and now i'm studying computer engineering because i love this, building pc, studying technology and hardware, all i can say is at the moment is thank you, for being this guy who does it for love and not to be a star throwing garbage or lies at us viewers.
Am addicted to planning pc builds! (Ive only done one but has been upgraded many times) I spend hours “researching” the hottest new tech and, the longtime tried and true products. I have trust issues, am always afraid the fat cats behind the hypnotizing ads and commercials have brain washed me into including some hyped up and otherwise superfluous features into my build, this is why I rely on people like linus (and others) to give me an honest and to the point perspective from someone who uses, and appreciates tech as much as I do. Linus is by far my favorite reviewer because his enthusiasm is clearly genuine, he is articulate, and most importantly does not come across as “fanboyish”. not that there is anything wrong with being loyal to a product just isn’t relevant in a review. Outstanding work Linus keep it up!
This is a great video, Ive been a die hard fan for the last two years or so and have loved seeing your channel/company grow, Id be really interested to see another video like this in the next year or so, something like "How its grown since 2014"
You're a great guy keep going with ur dream i wish i could do the same i really love techs and gaming pc and stuffs but here in italy everything kinda sux. Keep going man realize our common dream for everyone who cant. :)
How iI discovered Linustechtips was when I turned my HP Z400 workstation into a gaming machine and I was wondering if a core I7 would have been better than my xeon e3035. I saw linus's video about xeon and I7 which on is the best? and got hocked by linustechtips and ncix (has fast has possible) video. Great content, very accurate and well produce. Keep the pc knowlege going Linus :)
These questions were very well constructed and arranged. Linus is an amazing speaker, but just the flow of the questions from one to another makes it even better.
Linus your continued success is due entirely to the quality of your content. Its 2018 now and you are on the top of the tech content pyramid for good reason, Keep up the excelent work!
Thanks Linus for sharing your personal history with us. Been a subscriber for a little while, I was always wondering on how you got started. Your video's are down right real and you always make us laugh with your jokes. Keep up the great work.
youtube without you, it will be much poor...I have watched many of your videos since NCIX. I'm a graphics designer and you helped me to build my workstation pc! Thanks :)
TheSvenVids Hmm...actually I build it about 3 years ago, A cooler master haf and is an sabertooth x58 with a i7 970 hexa core with 12 Mb cashe with a liquid cooler 24 Gb of ram 1600 Mhz, Gtx 590 3Gb with 1024 cuda cores. a m4 ssd 512 Gb, 4Tb hard-drive. 3 Dell monitors etc... well, I use photoshop mostly for simple things, I usually use after effects for intros and video editing :) cheers!
Linus was the reason why I went back to building my own PC. I have been using PC since the early 90s but back them, the PC were a damn mess when it came to building your own. It was more like build and pray during the process. Because of that, I revert back to buying prebuilt PC. Years later, I realized that PC building was alot different and I felt discouraged to go back doing it but Linus pretty much rekindled my interest again. I got to thank him for doing that.
Learnt alot from your videos, been watching since you first started. I learnt how to build my own computers thanks to your videos over the years.... will still be watching in 2019 with full support.
Glad, I found this channel. Your interview format is great. Thank you for starting a channel that show cases how people got their start and continue to grow themselves.
I like how most youtubers say that youtube doesnt pay so well, and yet linus did on a superfun episode with the robot ants racing bet using 4 Titan Blacks wich were just lying there in a box. I know that those titan blacks are sponsered but still its pretty funny if you think about it.
Tacodude11NL ? nvidia isnt a sponsor lol. he asks for them and they give him the cards. linustechtips.com/main/topic/75969-support-linus-tech-tips-our-affiliates-and-sponsors/
+Tacodude11NL UA-cam does pay well because UA-cam allows him to have so many views and sponsors just give him free products and has many sponsors that pay well.
Absolutely awesome. I subscribe to this ND a bunch of other tech channels and I have seen and hear your name soooo many time! Really a legitimate pro channel with tons of respect from everyone. Just great job all around.
Hey, man! Nice video! But can you please drop the background music during your interviews. It's kind of distracting us viewers from focusing fully on the interview.
I don't know how you were so focused on the music. I honestly never noticed the music until I saw your comment. Maybe he could just turn it down a bit so people who do notice it and see it as a distraction, won't.
ive also learnt so much from him, even before his channel not famous and dont even have company.only started with his one friend.,one key i like from his video because it is short and full of information, and spontananous
I have to say Linus, you have a GREAT presence for these videos!! Some people are great behind the camera. and others less so. Your passion for the products and your general excitement carry over well. It makes me excited to watch videos about products I wouldn't be able to afford for years to come, or for products that I wouldn't ever buy.
Out of all the youtube i watched and watch. all the channels linustechtips and his subechannels are in my opinion one of the best places to go for tech info and help.
Wow! I like Linus and I love Frozen. I have watched Frozen several times now and I'm addicted to it. And knowing that Linus likes Frozen too, makes me feel like I'm on the right track for my life. *share* *sorry for some exaggeration*
James Denton how u gonna say something is shit, what u mean to say is u think its shit, but whats really meant is you dont like that movie because shit, if its humans is brown. also i think il hungry.
I stumbled on your channel during the early days and stayed with you since Love the content and information. Thank you so much. I just had to post my comment
I would love a more up to date 1-2-1 interview with this guy. He's extremely intelligent and has both his feet firmly planted on the ground. I hear he's thinking about writing a book.
This is one of the greatest tech channels the I have been watching every time I get a free chance in my busy day. Thank you and your staff. for all the content that you guy's and gal's upload. Even the stuff that has nothing to do with tech head, has keep me and my group of nerds talking about what you or one of the staff did. :) Great Water Cooler talk. Oh you totally blew our minds when you filmed at Cedar the supper computer. That was so awesome.
he already does. he has a warehouse that scraps computers for parts and sells the parts. you sell parts and pc's at the warehouse. the warehouse then scraps the pc's and parts to sell the parts and make better pc's to sell. Linus has a few videos on his channel showing it.
i'd be lost without this guy. i've learned so much from his channel
Same
tonyfalca I can relate, i think if it wasn't for his channel I would be such a pc enthusiast
tonyfalca same
tonyfalca Same!

Linus got me thru high school, college and now grad school. Whenever life got tough I just watched some of his reviews and dreamed of building my ideal machine and that made it all better. He has a great style, he's very meticulous, he goes into great detail, I'm really happy for all of his success.
QuantumBraced Yeah socks and sandals are great style
jd6133 LOL
+QuantumBraced wait. you've been watching him for at least 6 years?
Right on bro
Very much the same my girlfriend for 6 months broke up with me and now if I feel sad I ho into pc builds and upgrading my own
and now he is on the way to have a bigger company than ncix :
Faraonqa good luck he own a media group not a retailer
well looking at the crap he has on hand he might as wel be
ncix would be worth hundreds of millions
huan gia he still owns a company
LMG is not bigger than NCIX.
Agreed 100%.

Babazaneti he's beeing sponsored by many companies, he hasnt got any problems with money, only with time

Linus is an icon right now, i have learned a lot from that dude.

+Kanaan Nichols I was thinking the exact same thing! lol
+Kanaan Nichols I don't find it distracting, I find Linus distracting. Like I'll literally drop everything for Linus.

IKR! I love TigerDirect! I ordered all of my components from them (and Newegg).
Those memory lights are distracting.
Watching this in 2017 and its still amazing. Good guy Linus
Love your content Linus, I know you will never read this, but you made me interest myself in technology, and now im studying computer engineering thanks to you. You have no idea how much I appreciate that. Changed my life.

those LED's are driving me nuts, where can i get them?
If you're talking about the RAM, they're Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracers.
Entos Avia I have a set myself, If you download the utility for them you can change their colors, I LOVE THEM.
Myno Craft Wish I knew of them before I got my pair of Corsair Vengeance (cheapest available at the time)... I also found some Avexir ones but they aren't available to me... q.q

The quality of your work keeps me interested and coming back every day.
Am addicted to planning pc builds! (Ive only done one but has been upgraded many times) I spend hours “researching” the hottest new tech and, the longtime tried and true products.

Funny how he pretty much told the future at 13:20
Freddiew has really expanded beyond UA-cam.
Linus is such a great guy. I've followed him since the ncix tech tips channel to nowadays and he still it's just a regular humble dude.

I love how honest Linus is. He didn't try to sell any "oh i couldnt bear to leave this community.." crap.
for some reason i mis-read the title as "how i became lesbian"
um.. ._.

I would love a more up to date 1-2-1 interview with this guy. He's extremely intelligent and has both his feet firmly planted on the ground. I hear he's thinking about writing a book.
I haven't watched frozen
I haven't and never will
It's fairly decent but totally overrated and over-hyped.
5 years later and LTT is a multi-million dollar company.
Yeah and ncix is closed
Yup and he lost a little bit of hair and still wears Sandals and socks.
I summon you, Kuriboh!
He and Paul are the reasons why I learned so much about computer hardware.
+LinusTechTips Have you ever thought of opening a store to sell the surplus you have, make profit and to promote your channel?
he already has a shirt store
Ian Visser mmm, I remember a few TECH tubers recently having a garage sale on excess stock they had been sent.
he already does. he has a warehouse that scraps computers for parts and sells the parts. you sell parts and pc's at the warehouse. the warehouse then scraps the pc's and parts to sell the parts and make better pc's to sell. Linus has a few videos on his channel showing it.
Bandit Leader no, that's not his shop. It's a non profit in his area
Probably the most honest pinformation given about youtube. startups and colabos. Many others best around the Bush and are very vague.
