    I've been on many teams for several different sports and the worst teams I was ever on all wanted to party and make jokes when we lost. They never understood that a loss should be a sobering moment where you recognize your flaws and immediately begin preparing for the next game/race/match/whatever with self discipline and focus. Sadly, many people never figure that simple fact out.

    • @TheSoggiest
      @TheSoggiest 4 роки тому

      Many people don't give a flying fuck. Its a sport for most not a career and chances are will never be a career. So to take a "fun" sport so seriously is a waste of your life. Lossing does suck and isn't fun but why let that keep you from living a fun life. I could never stand those that prioritized a sport over life. Especially at a young age. I did sports and I wasn't told I couldn't have fun because I lost inevitably it made the sport more fucking fun to play. You can put the loss behind you and go live a fucking life. You weren't put on this earth to play with balls. If you think you were then go find a nice guy and fondle his ball sack.

    The MLB is full of talented guys who all out-worked and outlasted their competition to get there. At that point, the difference between winning and losing is which teams have a winning mentality/environment and which ones don't. You'd think at that level it would be a given that they all have it, but they don't.

    This was the one aspect of baseball where Billy Beane was still a dinosaur. Even the very best baseball teams are going to lose 60+ times a year. They don’t need to be dancing around and acting a fool after the game but they don’t have to sit around in absolute silence, either. I mean if you lose 13-2, do you want to ritually flog yourself for half an hour? Hell no, throw that game in the trash, put it behind you, and make sure you’re ready to get after it again tomorrow.

    • @JarrodFrates
