Thank you for these videos! You make it so easy to understand and I keep going back and re-watching especially this one to try to get the rectangle right. I have found that working on these rugs is a great stress reliever.
This is exactly what I was looking for. I love simplicity. So many videos were suggesting to get clamps for this, pins for that, a board for whatever, etc. I just knew I didn't need all of that and finally found your excellent, no muss, no fuss method. Thank you so much for your excellent video with the step-by-step instructions. Simplicity still survives and your end result is just gorgeous.
Wow... I was searching for a rectangular rug DIY and am I thrilled to have found you. I have been wanting to make a bedside rug runner and I love this ❤.So I am going to try my hand at this. Your instructions are very clear and your work is very neat. Thank you very much indeed for sharing. 💕💕💕
That was the most clear and understandable demonstration of this weave technique I have ever seen. Flipping it over makes so much more sense to me than trying to navigate a turn. Thank you!
Thank you so much for your excellent video tutorial! You made the complicated seem easy! Other videos were so confusing. I enjoy your soothing voice and calm manner., It looks like I can do this - and it looks very relaxing, too! Thank you once again!
Finally finished mine - great directions. You;re right, it's difficult to start he first 2 rows, but then much easier. Not bad outcome for the first try. Pretty happy with my outcome (wish I could show but can't, it seems). Thank you!
Oh my goodness, that rug is SO PRETTY!!! I would totally love to have one at home, as well as be able to give one to a loved one as a gift. I definitely need to give this a try! Thank Sharon for filming and uploading this!
thank you for showing me how to do this, I have made a slight change in materials though. I have been using Plarn instead of rags... and it makes a sturdy mat, I am making cushions for my hard wooden chairs. I will be covering them in material and making velcro ties to hold them in place. It does take over 100 plastic bags however to make a decent seat cushion, I don't make "strips" out of the pieces , but instead make one loop with each bag, and chain them together as I go... works really well for me.
Totally awesome, I have some of the needles like that but didn't know what to do with them. I bought them with a bunch of sewing things so I left it there and figured I would eventually know what their for. You make this seem so easy. I can't wait to do one. Grandma always had these in her house. I loved them.
I have a few jelly rolls (2.5 inch pre cut fabric strips) that I bought on sale. I plan on using them for a rug. I like the video it give ne the how-to.
I can't find your FB page~ only other youtube videos. Loved this tutorial~ I'm working on mine as I speak~ on my 3 row lol but looking good! TY for putting it out there, one of the easiest I've found!!
Hello, great tutorial. I just finished an oval one 30x40 inches made with flannel sheets. But I love this size and have the perfect spot for a narrow one. Thank you so much.
Maravilhoso trabalho! Didática perfeita! Já assisti dezenas de vídeos, mas nenhum como o seu, fácil de entender e executar. Parabéns! Obrigada por compartilhar! 💥💥
I'm in the US and the link just throws me back to Facebook, I can't connect to the eBay link. Is there another way to get to it, or is there no international sales? You're a great instructor btw BEST VIDEOS I've seen and heard. Thanks and please keep them coming.
Am trying to decide on how many stitches for my initial chain and number of rows and wonder, will there be shrinkage of the final product upon washing and machine drying? Will be using well worn cotton sheet strips. I made a practice rug from my old well-worn gaberdine slacks and was shocked to find it shrunk upon washing! I so enjoyed making it as your instructions were perfect. Thanks!
Great tutorial! I did notice, though, that you started with 12 and ended with 10 lol. I made a round one with sheets and there were so many strings coming off. How did you prevent that from happening? Thanks!
How does it work if you do it a bit tighter? So its not so "loopy" for lack of a better word..... Or is this not recommended? Thank you for your guidance .
WONDERFUL video, thank you SO much, you make it simple & clear, thanks again. I am a rug braider but want to try this method of toothbrush braiding and have enjoyed your video.....can't wait to watch others of yours and look at your E-Bay kit options. Thank you...... thank you.... for making the time to make these videeos!!!!
On your Facebook page you have a half circle toothbrush rug and I was hoping you had a tutorial on it. I really want to make one or two of them. Or maybe a pattern of it. Pleas help me.
Thank u so much,u are a great teacher ful of patience,God bless you for educating so many people , do we have to increase stitches?I have subscribed your channel but u do not send any notification 👍👍👍👍God bless n keep my request 🙏🙏🙏❤️
@@alanwhitehead9756 I have tried both was but still have the fraying. Is there a way to clean it up so it doesn’t look so bad? I don’t mind personally, but I know some do.
I absolutely love your videos and your accent is so lovely. I have a question I want to start one of these rugs what is the best width for the fabric? I have some beautiful peach and creams I want to use. They are jelly rolls from a fabric store and amazon. I think they are about 3 inches in width. Is that too wide?
Hi Kendra, It was because the old toothbrushes were made of wood with a hole in the end. They would cut off the bristles and sharpen the end and use it as a needle to make the rugs. Thanks Sharon.
How to do it with old towels, I tried doing but it didn’t turn out very neat, Also some chain I missed and it became little like slanting inside from one side. Any way we can correct it.
The one I am using is wooden but yes they used to take the bristles of the end and sharpen into a point and the old toothbrushes had a hole in the handle so you could use them to thread the material
Thank you for explaining this craft so well. I have my material ready and am going to try my hand at rug making.

Very clear and simple!
Well explained, I've never tried this but it seems to me you would struggle less if you had some kind of frame to hold your work.
Very good explanation! Now I understand !!👍☺

Thanks Annu. You only have to increase if your next hole is a little big. Sharon.
Thanks for a great explanation!
I love your videos. Thank you so much. Can you tell me if using sheets how do you keep them from fraying so much?
Hi Janet, Thanks. Some sheets fray more than others. It helps if you cut them with scissors rather than tearing. Sharon.
@@alanwhitehead9756 I have tried both was but still have the fraying. Is there a way to clean it up so it doesn’t look so bad? I don’t mind personally, but I know some do.

Hi Kendra, It was because the old toothbrushes were made of wood with a hole in the end. They would cut off the bristles and sharpen the
end and use it as a needle to make the rugs. Thanks Sharon.
Será que dá certo com o fio de malha ?
Im fine cant wait
Can you send me a link of where to buy a needle that has an eye big enough to put the material through. Thanks

How many yards would be needed for a square foot ?
is it called a toothbrush because the needle you use is a toothbrush handle?
The one I am using is wooden but yes they used to take the bristles of the end and sharpen into a point and the old toothbrushes had a hole in the handle so you could use them to thread the material
