Yes, it's about time the S1KR gets some love from more people. I absolutely love my '23. BTMOTO tuned and it feels as good as my old '14R1. I traded my '21 Street Triple RS on it and have never regretted it. The Street Triple was fun but I missed the power of a 1000 and I wanted to stay with the comfort and steetability of a naked bike. Look forward to seeing what you do with yours.
The 165 HP for your bike's engine announced by BMW is only an indication. MOTORRAD, a big German motorcycle magazine, put a stock S1000XR on a dyno and measured 170 HP.
Seems Calimoto did a real good job (I watch also his Videos). Have the same bike since middle this year and I'm really impressed. Enjoy. Best regards from Germany.
Love mine, did like the m too but did decide against cos of the insurance costs. Very nimble with forged wheels, sucks in thunderstorms, then it's like riding a sledge. Demanding bike, perma sore lower back since about 2 years but hell it's fun in the twisties causing perma grin in the helmet too. Enjoy 😁 👍
You definitely need the titanium exhaust on this bike. Loved it when I heard it for the first time. Problem is it will idle hunt when cold, so that’s why you need the tune. Maybe a different airfilter and velocity stacks and it can make 178 wheel horsepower.
Thanks for posting this quick review. I own a 2022 since November 2021 and I am novice track rider (9 days) the last two seasons….I think this bike offers a unique balance of solid performance, casual usability, and great technology…. Excited to see what you do with it. Would be cool to run with you one day where you are a CR! Subscribed! Saludos de Cleveland, OH. Mauricio
the nakeds are always more fun, I had the tuono but because of the fairings, and wind protection, you have NO IDEA how fast you are going, it feels slow...but on actual naked bikes, the wind rush makes it exhilarating and fun to ride, the riding sensation is better.
2:35 whilst I'd be dubious taking Dyno HP numbers at face value it's true, this bike being the same engine as the XR obviously, on a dyno comparing claimed vs claimed, ducati claim 160 bhp for their 1200S DVT and the XR claims 160 on the gen 1.0, on the same dyno the XR put down 151 to the tyre, the Ducati only put out 134 to the tyre. Huge difference for same claimed figures... And it's not just 1 dyno, i've seen very similar numbers on a few different dynos when compared to other bikes.
Although the R is a great naked bike (and possibly more fun to ride in certain situations), I still think the XR is the ultimate sweet spot (if I had to choose just 1). I’m in NYC, and it’s pretty cold here… The XR allows me to ride pretty much all year in relative comfort. The 1000R would leave me with a runny nose under my helmet during this time of year). Thanks for posting. (And most thanks for posting about your XR experiences). ✌️😎
Depends, yes it is heavier, but I do better with it at lower speeds because the wider bars and riding position give me better control and I can crawl with the rear brake without having to set my foot down. It also allows for tighter turns, so in my case I actually prefer it for slow speed maneuvers.
@@CubanRider well, i rode the current xr with narrower bars than your xr and it was certainly not easy to handle in slow speed maneuvers. add to that the high center of gravity and i personally wasn't comfortable with it.
Ergonomics a bit more aggressive, smoother but more powerful, longer gearing, more substantial feeling but still quite light. Definitely not as flickage. Two very different bikes but both very good.
Had one since 2021 when they came out fantastic bikes enjoy 👍

Lol.
I find this funny, I just traded in my 22 765 RS in for a S1000XR M Sport.
Loving the XR... but I do miss the Triple
Still have my 16, and still love it

Can't argue with that. You chose wisely for yourself. ❤❤

That's some awesome power, very close to a stock M1000R.
You'll get a big s1000r following now CR 🙂 I'm keen to know how you get on, on the track, lower, lighter, has to be faster.....

Thanks Mauricio, I'm really excited to get it on track myself.

Can you compare and rate it against your previous speed triple and outline what you think is better / worse ? Thanks
Compared to 1250 which motor you like best. I m asking cause between 1200 and 1000, I felt that the former was more powerful.
We following the same path, hope to put payment down on my R next week. Going to be full race bike after 1st service.
My man. Looking forward to see what you do.
Miss Bill from Calimoto Where's he gone. I know he was having a bit of a life change or something from his last reel or something I seen.
Enjoy!
Did you try the Newest MT10?.

the xr is noticeably heavier though. it felt very top-heavy and somewhat difficult to handle in low-speed situations.

Hey Cuban, do you have the bike also equipped with BTmoto?
He says it’s not tuned yet in this video….but soon ?
enjoy it brother.........
Gonna be a great year
👊✊
😮😮nice
Why did you not uograde to a newer XR? But a naked?
He said he’s keeping XR trade in value $7500, in this video
How is it compare to 890 Duke R?

@@CubanRider thanks it seems like the right next step, compared to the Super Duke or Tuono…
Nice!
Can't wait to get the two together!!!
Soon enough 🤙
I pay $3100 a year for my 2023 s1000r in the us. Went up $2000 a year from my Harley. It’s crazy.
That's high for sure. I'm in the 40+ category now, so they give me a break.
@@CubanRider yea I’m 34 I don’t understand why. I have a perfect driving record and took the Chp safety course
@@traviskuhn9110 might have to do a bit of insurance buying man, that's a bunch.
haha 56 bucks a month? what planet do u live on lol. ur also older so rates are down more i think but if ur 20 than, yeah
