Man oh man, I’m happy to see you back on that bike, brother! Got my 2016 XR after watching your vids, and took a YCRS course with it at NJMP. Looking forward to another class before taking it to the track… You may (or may not) know this, but everyone mentions you and your XR. (Even out here on the East Coast). Sad to see you’re going to sell your Legendary XR. 😞 Much luv from NYC. Ride safe. ✌️😎 P.S. Hope you get the MXR - That would be even more legendary. Take care.
Is it based on the perspective, or is the handlebar not 100% straight? Please keep the XR. I also have the S1000R and had the XR before. Biggest mistake to sell the XR 😢
I have a 2nd gen XR. Which I traded my 1200gs for. Yes the GS is a touch more comfortable, but I’ve done long distance touring on my XR. Did a 7700km trip from Canada to Mexico and back in 12 days. It was great.
Three words for ya man, Chatt-A-Nooga. It puts you right in the middle of all the great riding in East Tn/West NC and North Georgia... But you already know!
I am a new R1250GS owner and it's a fantastic bike. It does so many things well and checks a lot of boxes. Wind protection, power, amazing brakes and suspension, surprisingly nimble in the curves, comfortable for all day long riding, ability to go off-road if needed, and much more. Yes, it's heavy, but the extra weight from an XR doesn't feel significant with the low COG.
I've only ridden one, never owned one, but a lot of what you mention resonates with me and is what I experienced myself. I really enjoy the character and sound of the engine.
Great to hear your thoughts and what might happen in the future. If BMW were switched on they would loan you an m1000xr, seeing someone ripping it up on track with one of those would sell loads for them....or even offering you a really good deal. A few recent M models have been eating their main bearings, so they need to repair their reputation.
Cuban your an ambassador for the XR, BMW should hook you up with the new XR M. Also it looks like your bars are slightly cocked to the right as you go straight. Could be a camera angle. Keep it up! Love your vids!
Thanks man, and yes, the bars were a bit crooked. I ended up getting new forks and was still in the process of adjusting them, basically my very first ride with the bike.
If you sell both, I think you will come pretty close to a standard m1000xr. You don’t need the carbon package or the wheels, they don’t hold temperature like the magnesium wheels. And as standard you have every option accept the alarm, bar end mirrors, laptimer, high windshield and the preparation for the navigation. But really, I hate to see this s1000xr leave.
I sold my 2016 XR for a new 1250GS in 2021 - I love the GS and will definitely be keeping it (don't let anyone tell you it doesn't rail), BUT I def miss the XR too. I'm thinking of adding the M1000XR back to the stable to get a screamer back into my life.
I’m curious to see if Acosta changes his aggression if he has a couple spills. How exciting to watch that kid!! I hope Aleix Espargaro finds his rhythm again on the newer Aprilia. Headed to the dragon this weekend! Would be great to meet you one day. I vote relocation around the TN/NC state line…
@@CubanRider a saw a comment from a local that said it started this week. Not too sure. You think it will be more safe repaved or more likely to give false confidence so ppl override their abilities?
You would not like the GS, I think. My XR has 90k kms and i decided to add a 2009 K1300GT to the stable, found one with only 23k kms on the clock. The GT is the bad weather, winter and passenger carrier bike and the XR stays. (Also, the K1300GT is a inline four bike, 165 HP, 148 Nm)
Sounds like you have the same dilemma that I am going through. I currently have a Tuono V4 and a KTM 790 adventure s for commuting. But I want to get something like an XR1000 or a Multistrada take both roles. So many choices!
I'll take an XR over a Tuono any day, but I'm extremely biased and a big fan of this bike. I'd love something like a 790 Adventure myself to explore some trails, but whatever I get needs to have passenger accommodation, so the GS might do the trick.
GS is a massive compromise in every direction. not as good as middle weight ADV bikes in the dirt and not sporty enough for the twisties. Don't see the point of them at all
The Mrs doesn't love the XR, but that's partly my fault because I haven't done any seat upgrades to see if she likes it better. The really liked the Multistrada with a top case, but I don't think I'm ready to go Ducati 😉
you're the XR guy! don't get rid of it!!
The only XR guy I can find that's worth watching
I will also miss that XR. Love the trackdays man, still watching them occasionally til this day!

This bike is the real warrior!!!!
No doubt, it's so damn good and versatile.

Awesome! Great to see the XR back again! 😎 The GS is pretty cool though NGL, will miss the XR though :(

It'll be close enough to those areas for sure 😉

I was at the race too. Truly amazing.

Yeah I know, I'm actually more afraid of the M/RR engines than the R/XRs. It's a bit of a gamble these days.
Great year for GP. Really liking the wsbk series as well. Jumping on the XR today for some love.

Hello Cuban the best Bike. I am Happy to return on this bike
💪
Is it me, Do the handle bars look not straight?
Good eye. I swapped the forks and handlebar, I still need to align it properly but I was itching to take it out. 😋
Came for the XR , staying for the XR !!!!! Finally an XR video again 😎🫵🏼
cuban rider enduro time ufff, love it. antes tendremos que grabar un episodio con las xr. saludos mi querido cr.
Keep the xr!🙏 really like ur content 👊
That bike was very comfy riding!!!😀❤️🤙🏽
Right! Sure, it's heavier and not as flickable, but it's really enjoyable to ride quickly.
btw, are your bars bent, or top yoke out of alignment ?? looks crooked to me ?

that'd be a phenomenal combo owning both!
@@CubanRider That's the plan! The recent videos dropping on youtube are making me salivate. The MXR looks like a real beast.
Can you tell me which windshield extender you got?!
Came stock but mra makes them

Enjoy! Last week before they start paving? I'll probably make it out there around Sep-Oct.

Love your vid's bro but gotta say 100 in Texas is when I hit my stride😂

Lots of km, nice! Plenty of great choices these days, that's for sure 👍

@CubanRider The suspension on the 790 S isn't good enough for a passenger. I've taken my gf a couple times and it's awful. Way too soft.
I need to start watching MotoGP!😅. So glad to see you on the XR❤
I sold my 1250gs and went back to the XR also my partner finds the XR more comfortable being a pillion?

I’ve also done the multi strada 1200s seat was more comfortable than the XR but I think the XR is a better choice 👍🏻
Welcome back!
Sells bike
Top 10 anime betrayals
Only forgiven if the M1000XR is bought🤣
Man I was disappointed to see Marquez wreck. He is going to struggle after 2 races with no points.
turn one always eats the v4's
I know, it sucks but now we know he's got the bike to fight the top contenders.
@@CubanRider The new concessions aren’t enough to help Honda at this point.
I have a 2020 XR and for whatever reason I also want to get a 1st gen XR.
The Gen 1 is a lot more "lively" without losing any of the sophistication
switch to the m1000xr
Obviously as others said you're the XR guy, don't get rid of it, but if you do, get a 1290 GT 🤣
I can tell you are in Texas, long straights 😅
Relocate?? Do tell!!! Maybe a permanent fixture of the dragon now that would be epic!!!
Dude, I know. It might not be local local, but it'll try to keep it within 2-3 hours away.
I doubt I will ever sell my Gen1 XR......Gen2 doesn't do it for me at all.
Come to the Central Coast of California!
I wish! Our $300k home in TX would cost $1M+ out there 😬
True that!
I'll trade you a very nice 2016 GSXS 1000F 2600 miles for it! You'd make my day!
