so the vulcano skill 5 on fire... the lava stones are projectiles? I notice when there is no projectile hate we see many numbers, but when u use it on projectile domes, i also see few ticks dmg, which means is just the vulcano itself doing dmg, while the vulcano lava stones are getting blocked? Sheesh, that seems a bit frustrating lol
Volcano does not count as a projectile, but what you are experiencing is how buggy volcano is with ground placement. It's most noticeable in certain raid encounters where placing volcano on the ground prevents it from hitting properly. But it's not due to projectile destruction. None of the spear 5 skills are coded as projectiles. Volcano is like a smaller meteor shower while water/air/earth 5 are like wave skills (similar to CoR on rev).
Interesting positioning there. I'm amazed nobody picked you off. But good parses though. Think it's time I put away support and went back to DPS again. Edit to add: I think it's bullshit that warrior was topping the meters so much when you literally can't go more glass than you have on your build. I mean it's a step in the right direction on Anet's part but not far enough in my opinion.
Yeah my positioning was awful, mostly due to just chilling away from comms and reset just being very laggy. If I ran this with my guild this would be a lot cleaner. With how catalyst works, the stats don't need to be entirely glassy to squeeze the maximum damage, but you can certainly do full berserker for some extra squeeze. Warrior will defo get some nerfs though

Their justification for the armor and HP disparity was that warrior had to really go melee yet compare the difference between an Ele and Warrior in Berserker is! Hell I'll be generous, let's compare Marauder. Sure it's been tough on Warrior mains but it's been far worse on Ele mains and * don't care what they say about Cele Cata and all that. We've steadily had the cannon removed with little compensation. Strictly from a comped zerg perspective that is. Furthermore support has been gutted too. I've been an Ele main since 2012 and it's by far the most abusive relationship I've had. Yet I still love the class. Anyway, nice compilation man, I'm keen to get my hands dirty again.
@@marschantescorcio1778 Warrior spear is big meta right now, even spellbreaker is big damage because you can reset the burst for 2 of them at a time to make up for the missing damage from adrenaline. Berserker sucks due to it being a projectile. The big meta spears are warrior, renegade, and guard.
Doesn't really look like the damage/spikes is there tbh but I'd like to be proven wrong. It needs to hit much harder to justify not using staff because you will easily be top 3 dps with 1/3 of the effort you are pulling here with actual spikes. And staff has better utilities. Water spear dash is no burning retreat. On staff you get mag aura, super speed, cleanse, heals, air5 earth4 for disgusting CC, blast, chill and lots of non reflectable attacks. Also spear 3 skills are very mid and imo very lazy design. The entire spear definitely needs more work.
There's definitely a lack of burst on spear compared to staff. While on staff you can burst with air 2->water 2, the burst on spear is buried behind air 5. In openfield, staff is better because the combo is up more often, but in coordinated groups spear will have much more value. The cc on spear is also way more than on staff: air 5 and earth 4 are your only controls on staff, whereas water 4, air 4, air 5, and earth 3+5 give you much more leverage. I prefer volcano way more than meteor shower; it's more controlled and doesn't force you to sit channeling it. This lets you start layering other damage fields like glyph of storms and air 2 into your combo. Its similar to staff weaver where you layer fire/earth 3 +fire 2 +meteor shower at the cost of damage from catalyst, but spear lets you play this style without having to play weaver. Near 7:40 is when you see less pad and more pump. Having a stack of warriors in a 40 man also puts a struggling on the long ramp for elementalist in general; there's only so many bodies to hit.
It’s worse pump than power mirage and similar/worse numbers to power reaper with no group util. Worse dps and down cont than spear core warrior and also has 0 soak potential compared to them. You have to play off stack or you get one shot, and it doesn’t make up for the lack of util/soak/strip/raw damage. It’s bottom tier compared to the current meta dps options.
My only real gripes with the weapon are the canceled etches like you said in the description and the fucking delay on volcano actually ticking kills me inside sometimes lol. Good stuff Raman. Ele gamers rise up.🔥🌊🌩🪨
I didn't know ele got perma stealth when equiping spear ;p Nice work tho, one of the better vid on ele spear that I've seen. It has potential, but staff (especially in those circumstances) would of smashed it. Not to discredit the work ya doing...it's the weapon not how ya using it
laughable damage, super squishy. you are never targeted which I cannot understand how as that never happens to me. spear is just bad. it would need extreme significant buffs to be viable. but even then the design of spear is just bad for anything but a standing still boss in pve
