Sadie's Christmas Surprise Pony (!!!)

  • Christmas surprise pony! Sadie and her Christmas pony, Maximus (and yes, we figured out that we had the Sophia the First name wrong - that horse is actually "Minimus" - oops!).
    Sadie was feeling particularly special since he's not a big nickerer, but nickered to her on first sight.
    On a side note, the kid does know how to lead a pony properly, but someone suggested that she lead from the bow side which she did and that she go the other direction when she got to the ring which she didn't, and knowing the pony and how nice he is, we all let it go for the moment.

    I've been riding for 9 years and just got my horse last year. I cried so hard when I found out they sold the love of my life pony. My heart horse really. And then after 2 weeks of crying everyday my parents took me to the barn to say good bye and I cried the way there and I went to her stall in tears and there she was white as ever with a big red bow and a sign that said "they sold her to you my dear" and I fell to the ground I was crying so hard..... it was the best day in my life. She just got cancer but she's beating it. I can ride her tomorrow but I can only walk because it's on one of her legs anyways I just wanted to tell my story

      Meh, I am in LOVE with my barn’s flea bitten white Shire+Welsh Pony, he’s just like my own. I remember when he was just 9 years old and was poisoned along with so many other animals. He was the only survivor. I don’t know what I would do without him, all I know is that rescues can be much greater than bought. For my first horse I want a horse from a slaughterhouse. About to be killed for dog food. Think about how much happier they would be. How many horses and so many other animals could be save. Just. By. Rescuing.

    I've done horseback for about 2 years and I loved every bit of it, the joy I always felt when I arrived at the stadium has never left me. I've always wanted a horse, but being an army brat never granted me that chance. Not to mention how much it'll cost to keep the horse happy and healthy, but I think it'll be worth every cent. In the end I'm always happy to watch kids get surprised on Christmas or on their birthday with a horse.

    I love how everyone whinges about leading on the wrong side.
    Why does it matter? There is not a set rule, its just tradition. That little
    girl is not a soldier. That little girl does not carry a sword. So she can lead
    on whatever side she wishes. Its the same with tacking up. I tack up from both
    sides. I mount from both sides. I lead from both sides. It doesn’t matter. As
    long as the horse goes from A to B in a controlled manner, it doesn’t matter.
    Beautiful horse, you have a stunner there and he will make that little girl
    very happy.

    • @l.wolfbrother1734
      @l.wolfbrother1734 6 років тому +1

    Everyone in the comments are acting like this girl is spoiled for getting a horse at a young age. I mean, come on guys, lets be real. If you got a horse when you were little you would be excited! And you wouldn't want other people thinking your a spoiled brat. Heck, I plan on getting my kids horses when they are old enough to ride. If you are gonna learn to take care of it and ride it and someone can do it in the mean time, then I see no reason why a kid can't get a horse. Right now it's basically her mom's because she's doing all the work for it until the girl can. So stop crying in your pillows and making these worthless comments and go do something about getting a horse. For example: Get a job! Unless you aren't old enough in which case... wait. xD ♥♥♥

    This is adorable, I love it and it makes me so sad to see all these jealous comments calling this sweet girl spoiled. Im sure her parents pushed her to resume most of the responsibilities of caring for a horse and riding one so that when she grew older she would take care of it on her own. Theres nothing wrong with getting a horse at this age if anything it teaches the child about responsibility

    Why are people saying she is too young to care for a horse??? Be happy the girl got her dream horse. Anyone who says "she probably pets it and lets her parents do all the work", has never seen a girl bonded to her horse.I got my first pony at 2 y/o. Couldn't do much, she was mostly a lead line pony, but i did help out. She got a new home a year later, it was too hot so she was given to a farm farther north. When i got my second pony, my mom took me to the "store", where a trailer was waiting. A friend had a pair of grade ponies, half siblings, my mom asked which one i liked, i said the little chestnut mare. She was 4, i was 4. Since then i would help feed, or muck her stall, or whatever. That mare has been the #1 constant in my life, outside of my parents and sis. I have been feeding all the horses since i was 6. Nothing teaches you responsibility like having your best friend depend on you for her breakfast. I skipped my birthday, woke up at 3 am, just to take her upstate for hurricane Irma. When you hate on this girl, you are hating on me. And most horse girls. If you didn't get a horse as a kid, hating on those that did, that will not give you a horse. This girl clearly has experience, her mom worked the pony for 2 months. There is no bond as deep as the horse you grew up with. No matter what horses come after, who comes after, their back is the only place you will feel like a kid again. They can turn your day around, they know when to run from the halter, and when you need them to just be there. 2017 has seen all my grandparents in the hospital, that mare is one of very few reasons i have made it. When your parents have horses, you are taught what to do. How to spot colic. When feet need trimmed. Body language. Her farm is good, nothing fancy, not the type of place that would buy a horse on a 6 year olds whim. Mom clearly put lots of thought into finding the pony and making sure it was safe.
    There. End of rant. Point: little girls can take care of horses, so stop hating on them.
    Edit: anyone saying this was a phase, look at the newer videos of these two.

      Valid points, but you grew up with horses. This girl, although very lucky, could be going through a pony phase. Yes, of course she's capable of taking care of one, it's about if she WANTS to take care of him.

      Pegasister054 they have a barn on property, there are other horses in the barn, and mom knows how to train a pony. I think she grew up with horses too. And clearly she did take care of him, shes turned into quite a little rider if you watch a newer video.

    • @danielle4201
      @danielle4201 6 років тому +2

      Jealousy isnt the reason. Its basically becayse lots of kids go through a pony phase at young ages and eventually end up being tired of riding. The people “attacking” are most likely experienced riders who know what im talking about. She could have leased or something first? Unless the family and has experience and wants to care for it.

    WOW I can't get over some of the comments on here. Such jealousy on here for Sadie. For those who say they have been riding yet don't have their own horse, be happy that your parents put you into riding. Is it not what YOU asked for? Are YOU paying for it or your parents? And for those saying she is to young, no she isn't to young. For those saying does she even know how to ride, yes she does and I highly doubt she would have gotten one if she didn't. Don't assume what you don't know.
    I am a mother and grandmother. My daughter truly appreciated the riding lessons she had when she was younger and never bitched about not getting her own horse. She has her own horses now and a pony. My 3 and 4 year old granddaughters are getting use to being on the pony. The younger the better.
    So here is my suggestion to the whiners. Just appreciate that you are riding.

    I've been riding a horse named Versus at my barn for 3 years, and my parents can buy him, and we have room. I show him, and he is basically my own horse. When you look on youtube, and you see these girls and boys who can't even LEAD properly, I get so mad, because they honestly are spoiled. Horses are a HUGE responsibility, and you should know how to ride and take care of a horse properly before buying your child one.
