Zannah's 10th Birthday Surprise

- (08/01/11)FYI, Idols tail is LONG, I know! It is long because he's a Saddlebred & rides in shows. It is braided & tied up 99% of the time so he doesn't drag it around stepping on it.
For our niece Zannah's 10th birthday her parents surprised her with a Saddlebred HORSE! Amazing! Isn't that every little girls dream? She is blessed! See her & Idol's new video where they won 2 first place ribbons!
This brought me to tears. It reminded me of when my Mother surprised me with my first horse Reno. Even before Reno was mine, everyone knew we had a bond that could not be broken! I miss him dearly!!!
I wish the best for Zannah and Idol.
I've loved horses since I was 3 (I'm 13 now) and I've actually gotten to the point of depression because it feels like there's something missing in my life. It's not that want that every girl gets as a kid, but it's like I need horses in my life as much as the air I breathe. I had a friend who had horses, and watching the two girls using the sweat scraper brings back those awful memories when she had all the love and the special riding boots, and I had a dream with a pair of sketchers.....

You're right. This was her first ride with this saddle & they were not adjusted properly yet.

He is big but Zannah has grown A LOT in the past 2 years so she's catching up with him.

honestly, not to be mean or anything, but I think 10 years old is a little young to get your own horse because you can never tell if it's just gonna be a phase and they're gonna grow out of it. Congrats anyway though! :)
You go girl! I try to encourage people never to lose sight of their goals even if their parents can't or won't get them a horse. You are proof that hard work & dedication is the key. You are a great example for others! Thanks for posting!

That clip brought a tear to my eye as I strolled down memeory lane. My parents bought me a chestnut arab mare called Whisper for Christmas when I was 9 years old (24 years ago) and it was a TOTAL suprise. Whisper and I had many happy years together as I'm without doubt that Zanna and Idol will too!. What a beautiful looking horse Idol is!.

I was 10 years old when my parent's bought my Morgan gelding for me for Christmas=] Best gift anyone could ever recieve! A bond of a lifetime is going to form more than she will ever imagine. And I love his tail! I kept my Morgan's tail super long because it looked better that way as it does on all Morgans and Saddlebreds.

she is so lucky -- i got a horse of my own for christmas this year and it was the happiest day of my life...although the only thing i would change about was the fact that for 9 years i had worked towards getting him and it was more relief than a surprise...sounds so spoilt i know but it would have made it so special to have had him as a surprise like this. either way i love him to pieces and im so grateful to my parents for finally giving in

Thank you! I'm Zannah's aunt & growing up we didn't get things like this. I think her mom just wants her to have all the things she never had when she was a kid. Believe me, they make sacrifices in other areas so their kids can enjoy their childhoods. Kids grow up so fast so they are doing all they can to make great memories with & for them. I am sorry it makes so many people jealous & inspires so many hateful comments.
Very lucky girl. I've been riding for ages and still never owned a horse since I can't afford a long term ownership. She's living my dream :)
