Just installed this on my 2021 XLT - The last snowstorm ripped off the OEM diaper. Easy peasy. Your video was my deciding factor. Very informative. Nice job.
Just installed mine. Took some maneuvering but I was able to fit the factory skid plate through the cutout opening without much difficulty. No need to modify or bend the factory skid plate, for anyone else watching this. I love the look. I recommend installing the front first to fit the factory through the cut out and then installing the back under the transfer skid plate. Took about 90 minutes by myself.
Great verbal instructions and video. Made installation easy. Taking front OEM skid plate off made it easy for me to fit it into the new RCI plate. Then you install the whole combined unit. Need another pair of hands though.
You don't have to bend/modify the factory engine skidplate. The rear tab of the engine skidplate fits up into the elongated knockout at the front of the RCI skidplate.
I wondered the same thing. I will probably just install a Fumoto drain valve (used them many times) because they have options with a nipple and drain tube. I feel like every time I've removed the plug that it shot out pretty far.
The FX4 comes with the engine and the transfer case skid shown in the video. The RCI offering is much heavier and stronger. I replaced my factory skids with RCI last weekend. HTH. Take care.
My splash guard ripped in the same corner. That thing is garbage. I've been looking into the RCI plate. I will also install a Fumoto oil drain valve with nipple, so I can run a drain tube out of the RCI access door during oil changes.

Great to hear!

Front skid plate is going to be installed in December
How does the oil drain door work out for oil changes?
Taking OEM front skid plate all the way off makes it easy to maneuver it into the the new RCI plate.

I wish that was the case but It did not work for us
Good stuff, thanks!
Does the oil drain door allow enough room to easily change the oil?

What's the name of the part that your taking off?
Transmission skid plate
I thought the fx4 came with factory skid plates?

Does this require full removal for oil changes?
Realistically, yes, especially if you want to drop the pan to replace the oil filter
@@92813justin thank you for information and the prompt reply.
@@usawcraig1 not a problem, let me know if you have any questions.
Do you have the part number from RCI
I don’t have that off hand but see the link in the description for the exact one
