Those took a good beating! I'm very happy with my transmission cover from Talon's Garage. I got the aluminum one with the cat protecting wings. Mine is massively scratched but not bent (yet). It was a toss-up between RCI and Talon's. RCI makes the full suite of skids, which is nice. But like you said, I also have flattened several supports on the side steps and some minor pieces of the frame. But, when your breakover angle is so low compared to other off-road vehicles, you are GOING to drag your mid-section every now and then. I still don't know why the Tremor didn't come with at least a tranny skid plate. That area is the main contact point under the truck.... Someday I'll hopefully be able to visit Halo and drop my truck off for some goodies! Keep up the great work guys!
I use the fumoto oil drain valve and a piece of surgical tubing to route the oil flow to my bucket. I havent spilt one drop after a few oil changes now. Its tucked up under the rci skid
I did that as well. Got into some nasty mud on a trail late last year that bottomed out my truck. The hose didn't make it; .ripped off by the mud flow and clay I was shaving off the trail....lol.
Should have done steel the first time. You would just hammer it straight and repaint. The steel ones are not much heavier...90 lbs vs 60 lbs for front, engine, tranny, and transfer case.
People need to realize skid plates are a consumable to save the truck. Glad you were able to survive the Mohave and keep on truck'in.
Thanks! And 100%
Great video guys. I have a steel set with cat 🐱 guards on my rig
Appreciate it!

I found the steel RCI transmission Skid plate in perfect shape on Facebook marketplace for $70. I think it was my quickest purchase as of yet.
