I believe you should have put the rear of the front plate over top of the front edge of the rear plate. If you were to hit something with the front edge of the rear plate, it's possible the bolts could be sheared off or other damage to the rear plate could occur. It would also make taking the front plate off for an oil change easier.
On my 4x4 there is a shield that comes from the factory for the electronic front diff. Same as in the video. If you install it that way it interferes. Could remove it but then the connector is exposed to the elements. For 2wd I think it would work as you would like to install
With the plastic oil pan on the F150s even if you just do light off roading I think you have to get skid plates in my opinion. Take that for what it’s worth. I bumped and I do mean bumped the oil pan on a log and it flexed enough to cause it to seep oil.
do you think the install of these skid plates woold hinder adding a FRONT 2 " receiver hitch like from draw-tite? It attaches to the frame. I have yet to see someone install BOTH the skid plates and a hitch- what do you think?
@@Oxman_Garage really?? Thank you!. To be honest, this is completely unacceptable for a 60k truck. I can’t believe Ford doesn’t at a freeking splash shield. I barely have 12k miles on it and I just noticed it.
I just installed this on a 2024 Powerboost F150. Per the instructions, it says to remove the air dam. I called RCI and asked them if I can put it back on afterwards. They said if you have a 2022 to 2024 (2024 is the latest model as of this date), you can replace the active air dam which I was able to do successfully. Not sure how many years before 2022 you cannot re-install the air dam.
Thank you. This was exactly what I needed to install my RCI skid plate on my particular model of F-150.

Good stuff, thanks!

Im not sure, but this skid plate covers the air dam and front frame section. You would have to eye ball it and see if it will work.
@@Oxman_Garage Got it Thanks
Should you apply locktight to these bolts?
No, you need to drop the front skid to get to the oil filter
I have a brand new 23 f150 xlt and I noticed that the engine splash cover is not there… is this normal??? I can see the pulleys and belts…
That is unfortunately normal. You need to buy a RCI skid plate or something similar.

Agreed, it's ridiculous. They should have had something like the RCI skid or Tremor.
How did this affect gas mileage?
No effect
Does this also cover the transmission filter area as well?
No, it doesn't. They do sell that though
How u change your oil
Drop the front skid half way by loosening the bolts. Room to drain and remove the filter.
Step one... Get rid of air dam then proceed with this video.
