2:28 "If you want a Prestige that's easier, don't play a Prestige." You spoke the truth! I currently use the 2021 Prestige Tour and simply love it, although it wasn't so the first few times I used it.
The MP-L is an excellent racquet. Sinead, who appears in this video at 7:39 as she was practicing in Marbella at the time Jonas as filming, just won the club tournament with her MP-L. I am a former college player myself and I absolutely love the MP-L, and play with the previous Prestige S myself.
Its cool that they released this with a release of the old prestige classic. Could be a cool thing to release some classic frames with the newer updates, thinking about the older radicals etc. Thanks as always!
One thing to note about the Prestige MP (18x19, 99sq") and Nikki's comments: Head did produce and Head Prestige Tour 660 in the 1990s that had these same specs. So it's not completely out of kilter with the Prestige heritage to produce a prestige with these specs, although the Prestige Tour 660 was circa 12oz in weight. By the way, Head Prestige Tour 660 was a gem of a frame.
I bought the prestige pro 2019 version based purely on looks. Not by the paint job, but by the shape of the racquet. The head to throat to grip ratio looked perfect to me. I've been using it ever since and absolutely love it.
Head has worked some magic with the Prestige cosmetic recently. I also see that there's been a re-release of the Prestige Classic in a 2.0 version, much like the Pro Tour. Looking forward to you review of that one.
I see TW listed it as a 93 sq inch but a side note hinting that Head decided to use the outside instead of the inside to measure again just like before. It's gonna be even more demanding than the Prince Phantom 93 18x20.
I used to play with a Liquidmetal Prestige MP, and I was really close to pulling the trigger on the 21 Prestige MP L. I ended up with a Speed Pro, and I've added some anti-vibration strips and weight at 3/9, 12 and in the butt cap. It's fantastic, but maybe just a touch on the heavy side. I'm tempted to try the MP L and add weight, just to see how it plays by comparison...
Which version would you recommend for a flatter swing style? Tennis Warehouse isn't offering the MP, oy the Tour, Pro & MPL. Is this possibly an indication that the MP version is being eliminated or in a more regional release?
Nice! I had been a LM Radical MP enthusiast, but looked for an adequate new racket (within Head family, similar specs) so I tried the Graphene 360+GRAVITY MP, the Graphene 360+ PRESTIGE S, finally grapped the Graphene Touch PRESTIGE S. (even Headsize 95;) Now I must say the GTouch Prestige S has lacked (for me personally) in generating power. As a 50+yrs guy I want to move on. similar specs but more pop, maybe easier to play (better comfort, bigger sweetspot) . the new 2023 PRESTIGE MPL might do the job. I try out first the Graphene Touch SPEED MP, good for me because specs wise,(even beam is 22mm thin, not 23 like newer versions) and construction a constant beam like the Radical (before Graphine lines) and like the Prestige. With this SPEED I might miss the buttery feel of the PRESTIGE but more power. You cannot have it all! We will see;)
Hey Jonas!Do you know that there ‘s a 1619 version for the pro spec?Have you tried it yet?Chinese market have already begun to sell it and it’s very interesting. Support as always
I use the 2001 i.prestige mid and I wish Head would make the Tour with 60 RA and 18x20 and unstrung weight at 330. Guess I’m gonna stick to my current guns…
I'd like the specs of the Pro in a Tour headsize. VSBabolat likes the 2021 Pro which is a high compliment. I like the Tour except for the stiffness. Very detailed video and it must have been a ton of work doing the shooting, interviews and editing.
How much weight did you add to the prestige Jonas? I know for a long time it was your racket of choice and you. I have tried the MP-L and weighted it up but personally still prefer the older IGMP series but am thinking of weighting the prestige mp 360+ up for a bit more power. The feel is excellent but looking forward trying this newer auxetic pro and tour 😊
I am looking for a racket that allows me to send the ball exactly where I want it. Since I have strong power, I am focusing solely on control. I aim to hit the ball hard and accurately, like Marat Safin or Sinner. Is the Prestige Pro the most suitable racket for me among the models currently on the market? Or prestige Tour? I am currently using the TF40 18x20
Watching this one again - the main point about the Prestige MP is the 18x19 string pattern. If you want a HEAD racquet with something between the uber controlled 18x20 and spinny 16x19, then there are not many options - if any? Re power level, it is rated CPI 400, which is the same as Radical MP, Gravity MP, Extreme Pro and Boom Pro my own personal experience is consistent with the rating. And it is much easier to swing than any of the Speed or Gravity racquets. This is a highly underrated racquet, so no I don't agree with Nikki 🙂
Hey Jonas, I'm playing with the Pro Staff RF97 Autograph but I would love to know if you guys think that this prestige tour is a good opoption I have a one handed backhand and I'm looking for a VERY stable racquet that can produce great power and plow through, I'm considering the gravity pro too, but I'm afraid that could be a bit sluggish.
Did you experience any difference between the 2021 and 2023 pro? The only difference seems to be the ra is 2 points less from 60 to 58. Overall, would you say they hit the same? I have the 2021 and I like it. I'm attracted to lower flex rackets, but 60 is pretty low. If you didn't feel really any change between them, I won't switch. Thanks!
Why oh why can they not make this frame again with a different string pattern? I can't be the only one who wants the new 'Pro' frame with a 16x19 pattern.
Hello nice video , can you compare this racket Head Prestige MPL with wilson Pro Staff 97L in terms os power, control , sweetpot and maniobravility? Manu thanks
Is there any noticeable difference between the 2021 vs 2023 Prestige Pro? If so, is it worth the difference in price? The 2021 models are on sale for $100+ less than the 2023 models...
Hi Jonas. Regarding Prestige MP-L comparing to Radical MP - some reviewers say, that MP-L has very small sweetspot (Radical MP seems to have larger) and that it's not very stable at the net. Can you confirm it? And which one (Radical MP or Prestige MP-L) would you recommend for aggressive all-court player who likes playing at the net?
Interesting no mention of Auxetic 2 (which is in the descrip. for these frames on TW). Any difference from Auxetic? The Tour specs are the only one that interests me & prolly worth a hit imo. Not a fan of the (Ron) Burgundy colorway on these frames so 👎to Head for continuing to stay with that which is not appealing imo. No comments on the Prestige Classic??? Thanks for the review.
Hey there Jonas, i've got a question about Head grip pallets: i noticed that L3 on Radical is thicker than same L3 size Speed/Extreme. Is it the same for this new Prestige Model? if not, what's with the Radical line, is it a different pallet? thank you so much and keep up the good work!
Hey, I haven't noticed that pallets should be the same size. Sometimes, they are sloppy with the application of the basegrip. Did you remove that and measure it? Thanks
@@Tennisnerd i did try to replace the grip with no luck, last time I went to my local store we measured a bunch of black edition speed MP, extreme tour and a radical MP for reference, radical seems to be more rounded and therefore bigger, thanks anyway for your suggestion!
Absolutely this. I moved to South America and tennis courts are mostly clay. Perfect for something like Babolat AeroPro Drive / Pure Aero where you can really hit a heavy ball with.
Wonder if the swingweight is finally dialed in? I had a few come in for the last model and they ranged between 320 and 364. Most were on the very heavy side.
I have avoided the terrible bright red Graphene 360+ Prestige line. That was the ugliest Prestige they ever released. I just switched from my old YouTek Prestige MID from 2010 to the 2021 Prestige Pro. It feels so similar to the original mid sized version, but it's much more forgiving. I'm glad they went back to the original color theme combnined the the matte black finish.
I wish the paintjob had just been black and red, none of this maroon/purple nonsense. I want the crimson/black to come back. Then again I can just get Nikki to paint it all black with crimson accents 😉
Currently play with the 21 tour version. New model over 400 aud. Crazy prices for very little changes.

wow the new paint is incredible!
I would like to see a comparison of Prestige MP L versus Gravity MP. (I love the Gravity with some weight added)
