The manual. The manufacture of the seals instructions. The dozen or so I have replaced. There is not really any other way to do it. Also to answer your question it does not leak and wont for a long time.
@@brycebuildsit So did you "crosshatch" the crank where the seal rides per the TCM SB? I would like to share my experiences of performing that job working with an engine overhauler for 11 years. Makes it easier, quicker, and I have never had one leak yet (over 30 performed). Do NOT do the above mentioned SB for starters.
I didn't cross hatch because the crank has less than two 2hrs on it from the prop strike IRAN. The previous cross hatches were still there, but it looked like the old seal had a small cut in it from when it was installed.
Wy didn't you just put it in boiling water ? Put a strong plastic bag over crank flange coated in oil. No BAPB required.
they make a crankshaft seal tool so you dont have to use an apb
