Thanks once again. Curious if you have heard Rosetta Stoned from 10,000 Days? Great reaction as usual. Stewart Copeland is in my top 3 - 5. Steve Gadd in the conversation as well
I do not believe I have... so I will add that one to list. I agree, Stewart Copeland is awesome! not sure who Steve Gadd is but I will have to look him up.
I love watching people react to tool. They think they’re just listening to more music, over, analyze the musical part of it then watching them transcend to the point of letting go and realizing it is on a higher plane, just let them do their job and let go to what you thought music could be
This song has three different beats at once: the drums go with one, the bass with another, and the guitar with the vocals, the third. They meet at the end of each line and separate again. It's the best alternative metal song I've ever heard. Greetings from Argentina!
As for the time signature, I feel it primarily in 9, but with shifting subdivisions (sometimes 2+2+2+3 and others 3+3+3 and a lot of times both laid on top of each other) with a big 4/4 section at the breakdown/solo
It's about the birth of his son Devo H Keenan and how it changed him. (That's a hint for another song as well) It's NOT about his mom. There are enough songs about that already. EDIT: YES! DO a compilation. Gotta see all the drops!
My first reaction would be without counting and lyrics pulled up. You still want to hear and enjoy the sound of the song in its entirety first. You want to capture that Tool first experience sound.
Thank you for the reaction! Very well done and I don’t mind the pausing. Tool army knows the songs well enough that we’re here to watch how you react. It sounds like you’re ready for wings part one and two.
I enjoyed your reaction. All members contribute so many tasteful ingredients to come up with the "cocktail" of the finished song. Adam Jones (guitar) actually sought input from Joe Walsh (The Eagles) for dialing in the talk box on this track. In my mind that illustrates how he was trying to fine tune the seasoning like you'd turn to a master chef for inspiration. They don't do gimmicky stuff. That would betray their commitment to their craft and product. My view anyway. All the best to you. Edit: typo
Great perspective. I was actually going to reference a talk box and Joe Walsh but doubted my instincts and didn't want to look stupid if I were wrong. 😅 Appreciate the confirmation. Yes, I would compare this band to Rush although they are two completely different beasts. Both have musical genius in every member.
It's kinda like how only the "real good smokers know the crack is hidden in the filter" in the same way that us real good TOOL fans know what you're in store for. (For us old enough to know, that was a reference to Dennis Leary's "No cure for cancer" CD. Dennis might have ripped that line off of Bill Hicks as he did many others.
Gret reaction! More on Jambi -- that riff reminded them of, "Mek-a-lek-a-hi..." Close!😄 Try "Eulogy" if you haven't heard it. It's got everything a Tool song needs. And I'm going to add Jimmy Chamberlain to your top drummers list. Without him, The Smashing Pumpkins are nothing to me. 😄
I haven't heard the song. It's been one of the many I've been trying to avoid so I could react to it. 😅 Consider it added, thank you. You just gave me an idea for a live stream sometime. I should explore drummers I'm not familiar with. 🔎👀🥁
Great REAL reactionist. I’m so over the fake reactors who oooo and ahhhh to a lot of artists stuff and it’s very evident that they are only doing it for the likes and subs. I see how true to your reactions are towards the songs and artists. My request would be for you to do a lyrical reactionary to Tools “Right In Two”. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much. Being genuine and not overdoing it is something I am conscious of and stress about. It's a delicate balance in learning to vocalize feelings the music is giving me... I don't normally do that when I hear a song for the first time. I've added Right in Two to my list. Thank you again!
@ by all means, reacting strongly to a song that evokes the emotion that is natural is what fans love to see. You have already established yourself to be genuine and reacting to music that makes you feel a Certain way can be recognised as being genuine simply because we as fans of Tool already know in advance how it should be perceived and when a reactor is being over the top energetic about it when we know the content of it is more serious or deep then it’s a giveaway. Keep spiraling out!!
So sorry for your loss. 💜 My life can now be divided in two since losing my dad this year. My life with my dad - and life without him. Markedly different. Music has definitely been helping me cope, so I get it.

Good call on the talk box. Sorry about your father's passing. Great reaction. More Tool, please.

Actually, "I heard some drum stuff" 100% accurate! 😄
I think Danny's doing flams on triplets on the outro.
haha - my partner is a drummer and the drums are something that has always stood out to me - but Danny, man... magic on every.single.song! 😅😅

Invocation of the Army... Good luck and have Fun.

Thank you so much. I did to Wings a few weeks ago. Check it out if you haven't already! ua-cam.com/video/3Ebh8pZKG0A/v-deo.htmlsi=HSPxzPZ1Y9MzBKue

I believe it’s about his son. I also suspect “sun” should be replaced with “son” as well.
It's great to have a Tool song that's not "The Pot". I mean, it's like reactors pass the same songs around like...well, you know. Great stuff.
See if you can find Danny doing "Indiscipline" by King Crimson in their Beat tour, with two members of King Crimson. It's another drumcam video.

As a Danny fan, I'd love to see you react to the pneuma drum cam video
I have seen that video already. Probably more than 100 times. One of my favs!
Tool Army is here

🤘🏻🌀
I guess I’m not considered a tool fan because I only like about 40% of their songs. But I know no one can touch them.
I agree. I don't believe one must love every song to truly recognize a groups talent. Thanks for saying this!
I lost my mom in Jan & if it wasn’t for music?
So sorry for your loss. 💜 My life can now be divided in two since losing my dad this year. My life with my dad - and life without him. Markedly different. Music has definitely been helping me cope, so I get it.
Have you listened to Pushit off their Ænima album? Amazing instrumentally and lyrically! (As is all Tool) 😂
I have not. I will add that to my list. Thank you!
For 'bobbing'... It's just a relatively slow 4/4. Just ignore all those intermediate beats & hits... ;)
That's a 'Wah-Wah"...
