This is really a simple living homestead, I see many videos in this genre but nothing compares to this, this is the authentic real deal. This is how this family has lived for generations, amazing!

You can see these maya people are very connected to this environment, they are integrated, its simple but beautiful. I would love to sleep under the thatch roof when it rains.

I love that the whole family is involved in producing and gathering food. Love seeing the kids digging, climbing trees, etc.

I am so grateful for this video showing the way that the traditional Maya have lived for thousands of years. I am so inspired and happy to know she and her community are thriving on their land! My favorite scene is when Adalia shows what she is planting in the kitchen garden. I am a gardener myself and am intensely curious about her way of planting and cultivating her traditional foods: ginger, cilantro, callaloo, and green onion!! I can imagine the wonderful soups she is making in her home.

I think this is very realistic. Some channels show that you only need a few hours a week to feed yourself after putting in your sustainable garden. But this makes it very clear living in an offered manner is not effortless, and requires dedication. Very informative!

I found it interesting that the smoke from her "oven" maintains the roof and keeps animals away, probably like monkeys and insects as well.

This is the right way to live. Thank you for this. Many years ago I visited a place like this in Belize. It was marvelous.

With the inflation and increasing gas prices, we might have to go back to that way of living.

Interesting how Belize accents can sound more Caribbean than like other latin american countries it's surrounded by.
