ah you will, this was a very entertaining race for people that actually like racing. The brief rain also caused some issues because of not knowing whether slicks were needed or not. F1 runs into that issue too and there ends up being a lot of cautions and drivers running off the track too.
@GarbagePlateROC EXACTLY, it was a really good race and that rain threw a huge kink in everyone's plans. Luundgard stayed on the slicks, I believe Kirkwood did also and of course Dixon. I was so hoping Rossi could've got the lead and the win. Now even though Dixon is not my favorite at all, unless he was with a different team cause I can't stand Ganassi, he's a master and none of the other drivers know how to save like he does cause he's driven champ cars, the IRL NA cars and now back to turbocharged missiles. Everything is gonna really change up once the hybrid components are put in and the tired start degrading faster cause of the added weight.
Yep, IndyCar races are usually pretty crazy. Lots of aggressive pass attempts and slamming into other cars in the turns. Those cars are amazingly stout.
The start was actually cool to watch in a way. How these cars did not crash on the first lap is amazing. Also, there was a time when IndyCars didn’t have a reverse gear, and more often than not, they needed a push to get rolling because of the lack of low-end torque. Otherwise you would either stall the engine or you’d really have to rev em up to take off. Yeah, I still miss the tiny turbocharged V8’s of the 80’s and 90’s.
