I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
The problem with Kid Icarus is that a lot of its appeal is tied to its characters & the performances behind them, and Nintendo has gotten *MUCH* cheaper about English voice acting since the release of Uprising.
Mario did play the first Kid Icarus game in the Super Mario Bros movie which was such a great reference to Mario’s team up with Pit in Super Smash Bros Brawl.

So about ARMS being a poor choice for a name: I've long thought a better name for the IP would've been "Two Arms", a nice little wordplay on "to arms" and the fact that, well, you have two arms. Might have made it trickier to name a sequel though.
The fact Nintendo didn’t get Shin’en in to make either a new F-Zero or Starfox (or ideally both). They’re so ridiculously talented I’d actually acquire them.
Shin'en is an extremely small studio. I love their games, they can punch above their weight, but they absolutely don't have the capacity to make a proper successor to F-Zero GX or a new Star Fox with a large scope
@@orangeslash1667 Probably also why they shot down Vitei's pitch for a new F-Zero. They were small enough that when they rebranded as Chuhai Labs, they started emphasizing themselves as indie
@@PikaPhantomVG Fun Fact: the reason why F-zero was made is because Kazunobu Shimizu wanted to localize Hot 3d Rally, but Nintendo of America thought it wasn't cool enough to do well in the West. So Kazunobu Shimizu took inspiration from Tim Burtons Batman to make the racing Nintendo wanted. Little did Nintendo knew that F-zero sales would decline due to Mario Kart.
"I don't know if parents are going to be buying their little ones Ridley or Mother Brain dolls" - You _say_ that, but Xenomorph action figures were a thing, marketed at 8-year-olds, when I was a lad. With a button for the mouth to do the... Thing... (And also the action figure and I think the doll market has kind of collapsed meaning that if you're selling plastic toys representing a creature or person you're selling 'collectable figurines' to adults. Or minis to TTRPG nerds and/or people who just enjoy modelling) Merchandise for Miis - Mr Potato Head style toys in a range of skin tones.
DK feels like they’re pushing him more as of late. Between the theme park, his appearance in the movie, the recent games with both DKC Returns HD and Mario vs Donkey Kong, the fact the last wave of Mario Kart’s DLC featured mostly Donkey Kong related characters… he may not necessarily be fully separate from Mario, but I think he has his own offshoot of Mario’s pillar. And Luigi definitely has that option to do the same, with how strong the Luigi’s Mansion IP is for theming and Luigi’s character. Peach probably needs a few more games of her own to have that same Star power, in my eyes. Otherwise, her merch potential feels more closely tied to Mario than DK and Luigi.
Yeah, my bet is definitely more on a surprise breakout from a completely new franchise than “cult classic” ones that have yet to surge despite multiple games well loved by fans. And I am a fan of some of these *secretly* less popular franchises. :X
1. Bring back Wario (not just micro games). The weird but still bright world could do well if marketed right. 2. Bring back F-Zero and actually make a Captain Falcon story mode. 3. Star Fox and get back to the cute puppet art style, which would be good as merchendise. 4. DK doesn't need to be decoupled from Mario to make merch. 5. Metroid had some cute characters, which can be reintroduced, such as the friendly fauna characters
Arms is tough. I think it is in a similar position to F-Zero, where it is sufficiently different from Mario Kart to be certain, but it is also a second racing game. Arms has to compete with Smash Brothers, and you can say they are different enough, but fact is that the fighting game community is relatively niche, and does not lend itself to coexisting with other games (like having multiple platformers, RPGs etc)
As the biggest ARMS Fan there is, I've been saying that the name is probably the worst possible thing they could've come up with, you'll never top the results over the actual limbs or the firearms industry 😭. The merchandising thing is also why I theorized ARMS didn't get a smash character initially as "How are they gonna make an amiibo of these designs" was a genuine thought of mine. I believe a lot in this IP, it's made by THE system seller team, sold pretty well like you said, and a Smash rep has always been a good sign 👀. Honestly tho, this game would've 100% sold better later on on the switch's life, just look at Ring Fit
There's a dark horse missing from your consideration. A series that is completely different in both tone and scope from and of the other Nine Kings (as I call them). That has female lead, a distinct art style, and named directors at Nintendo not just nebulous comments from business executives, but the boots on the ground directors saying they WILL continue the series, A series that has the unique prospect that no other Nintendo series has of possibly being able to steal fans of PlayStations recent output away from Sony, but importantly of all, is already the sixth series to get merchandise exclusive to the Nintendo stores. Even before Metroid, it's big sister - Famicom Detective Club
@@zeeborsloweffortchannel3889 I know people like to joke Sony games are just movies, but they’re really not the same as visual novels. While I think fire emblem is far away from being as big as Mario and Zelda I think it is absolutely still worth some consideration, fire emblem heroes is their best performing mobile game by a wide margin Imo Fire emblem is clearly their biggest “anime-esque” franchise and it does certainly have a lot of appeal, and there’s definitely some great possibilities for adaptations into other media and even merchandise I think the biggest roadblock is that Fire Emblem isn’t super “nintnedo-y”, I mean it is their franchise they’ve owned for a long time but I think everyone gets what I mean Regardless I think it is something they could possibly push as a more teen focused franchise, similar to Metroid
Another roadblock I've seen a while back is that people kept saying Fire Emblem is way too niche to be worth any attention, despite how many games it has gotten in recent years. At least, that's what I'm getting out of it.
I’d personally love for Warner Bros to get it together and work with Nintendo to make an adaptation of Three Houses akin to Invincible, and with Nintendo being on the production line, they wouldn’t screw it up like they did with Ninja Kamui and Uzumaki
@@aegisleague4053 Right now the the best selling Strategy RPG franchise is Super Robot Wars, with Fire Emblem coming very close. Meaning strategy games are usually a hard selling in the west.
I think this analysis gives a bit to much credit to the diversity argument in the character. The people most complaining about a lack of diversity are not the ones you can get into video games, the diversity in game atmosphere is the only kind of diversity that matters. That is why peach Showtime works nicely, because she gets to be a princess, but also have other jobs to make it even more interesting. Its the atmosphere that counts.
You had already written off Xenoblade Chronicles for admittedly good reason, but it would be a dream come true for that series to get a massive boost in marketing at some point. Granted, It's already grown rapidly enough this console generation to earn a spot on Nintendo's B-List franchises alongside Metroid and Kirby, which is a miracle considering how rough the series' start was. Either way, to see people start to recognize Xenoblade Chronicles as Nintendo's Premiere JRPG franchise the past few years, sent to the market to contest with the likes of Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest, has admittedly stirred my heart with a little bit of pride.
If anything, I’d say that Kirby & DK are B-Tier while Metroid/Pikmin/Xenoblade/ARMS/Fire Emblem are C-Tier. Though Pikmin & Fire Emblem have the potential to break into B. Likewise, MonolithSoft does have some ownership over the Xenoblade franchise (hence the studio being mentioned in the copyrights) despite being a subsidiary studio. So that may limit things in terms of potential merchandising.
4:38 I do have to disagree with you here. Although Donkey Kong is connected to Mario, I don't really think it's the same as Luigi's Mansion or Wario Ware. Firstly because Donkey Kong has a much bigger catalog of game and has had his own universe of characters for quite a while now. Also, his games are really famous, as is the character as a whole. The Donkey Kong arcade machine saved Nintendo in the early 80s (being their first international hit) and Donkey Kong Country was a turning point for the SNES in the 90s (being the console's 3rd best selling game). Finally, I would like to add that, besides Mario, I see Donkey Kong as the Nintendo character with the most potential in terms of merchandising and other media. Right now we're seeing them go all out on a massive Donkey Kong Country area in their theme park. Not Zelda, not Splatoon, not Luigi's Mansion. Donkey Kong Country. That tells a lot. The only problem with DK right now is that they're lacking a studio to keep making games on him for them consistently.
He does want Pikmin to become Nintendo’s next Mario after all. As for Zelda, I don’t know exactly, but Star Fox is my first guess considering what he said about Star Fox & Pikmin during his interview on Super Mario Run.
Other game devs should take note of this strategy by Nintendo: creating amd building a brand slowly to gain user base and not making a high budget propaganda with quick returns, then blame the gamers for their failure.
There's a problem. Publishers aren't interested in thinking long term and growing. Economy doesn't allow long term growth and everyone needs to make big money right now.
I'm in Japan right now, and there us Pikmin stuff everywhere. A little game Tokyo Train TV, snacks at 7-Eleven (bought these cute little macarons with Pikmin on them), I've even seen a store with way more Pikmin merch than Animal Crossing
Even if it’s not seen as a “household” name to Nintendo, Kirby is my goat. Realistically it’s due to them not fully owning it, but then again, Pokemon is mentioned. Maybe that’s just due to how massive Pokémon is.
As with Kirby, the co-ownership situation may make them slightly less incentivised to prioritise it. The rotating cast might be trickier from a merchandising pov as well. Then again Heroes is doing very well indeed as I understand.
I see more potential in some of the franchises that Nintendo doesn't fully own than some of the ones it does own. For example, Kirby could be *huge* if they really went all out in promoting it. And Fire Emblem is already a super successful gacha game so it has a lot of potential for merchandising and other media.
I really want Nintendo to renew their efforts with Miis and Amiibo. They both have a lot of potential. Beyond that I agree that Arms is a good IP and I want them to take another stab at it, but I can also understand if they don't. It's a hard consept to nail. Beyond that I feel like they're sleeping on Astral Chain. Astral Chain bearly had any marketing beyond a mention in a Direct and it still sold over a million in 6 months. I really think that shows how much appeal the IP has. Of course even if the IP is wholy owned by Nintendo it's complicated by being a Platinum Games developed game
I feel that Donkey Kong should be the one because he’s the OG and the jungle aesthetic would is unique also Mario originates from the DK series not the other way around,so the comparison to Luigi and Peach doesn’t really work
If anything, Donkey Kong has more of a claim to being a pillar than Pikmin. But I guess the latter is huge in Japan & has Miyamoto nepotism pushing it forward. As for ARMS, 2.7 million for a new fighting game franchise is pretty good considering the glaring flaws the original game had. So there’s definitely room for growth with a sequel. Maybe not heavy hitter growth, but perhaps around 3-5 million. Although they’ll probably need to double down on Min Min, Twintelle (in the West), & Ninjara (in Japan) as the faces of the franchise since they resonated more with audiences than Spring Man or Ribbon Girl did (hence Min Min in Smash).
the thing against DK is that Nintendo has push it a lot with Mario these last decades to the point a lot of people unconsciously think of it as a Mario series more than its own thing
@@KevZ7.Because it IS a Mario series. It had a claim to be separate during the Rare era where it took on a completely separate tone and feel but after they left its integrated itself into the Mario series. Even Retro's games have felt more Mario then Rare DK
Kirby is a little different from the rest of those partner franchises, Nintendo has complete confidence in Kirby, Kirby games consistently sell at least 1 million copies and Kirby and the Forgotten has grown the series considerably. Hal Laboratory releases at least 1 games every 1 or 2 years, whether it's a new main series game, a spin-off, a collection, or a remake or remaster, there is always something for Kirby fans to enjoy. And when it comes to Kirby merchandise it is also very big, of course Kirby is Nintendo's cutest franchises, so merchandise always sells well. And Smash Bros is basically a free commercial for Kirby, enough to give Kirby and two spin-off platform fighters
I feel like the next big Nintendo series is Metroid given how much they put into it in the last few years. Plus Samus's Power Suits are get for selling as Status or Action figures. As much as I want Star Fox to be the next big thing on the list of big Nintendo IPs since the characters are perfect for making merch out of, Their vehicles are perfect for model kit building and seemly liked more than the actual games they come from minus 64. I feel like Nintendo isn't big on doing another big marketing push for it after years of middling sales, and with its biggest champion mostly focused on Pikmin and making movies at this point, it's hard to say if Nintendo sees it as an ideal option for IP expending at this point.
Ya but I didn't like how he tried to push the hole Metroid should be for a Female audience only, it's not the first time I've heard that from people, I mean have we learned nothing from the Star Wars Franchise? When Disney bought Star Wars they tried to make it a Girl brand and look what happened, Metroid may star a Female Protagonist but it is not a Girls brand Series, Metroid has always been at it's core a Male dominant Franchise, and for the record I'm not trying to sound Sexist there are Girls who play Metroid but if you asked them this question they most likely would not want the Franchise to change just to appeal to them, and another reason why it's a bad idea is because Metroid is a lesser-known Series that doesn't sell well the moment they change Metroid and turn it into this the Franchise will go the way of the Dodo, you thought Other M almost killed Metroid you've seen nothing yet!
something tells me a remake of star fox adventures wouldn't sit too well with fans, best-case scenario they take what they can get, though it would probably come across as tone deaf considering all they really want is the classic gameplay (done well). perhaps either in the form of a remaster/remake of assault, or an extra fancy port of zero, more along the lines of the xenoblade definitive editions? if you polish that game up enough it might be worth something, at least as a warm-up before something bigger. that being said, the prospect of a new game feels far off, considering nintendo's lax approach towards finding developers for dormant series (albeit they are growing fast internally), and the potentially massive investment required to realize any ideas that would attract general audiences, relatively speaking. the potential it has to expand beyond games is too big to ignore though, like you said
We do need more Metroid murch ya we have the Figma and Jakks Pacific toys but those are just Action Figures of Samus which don't get me wrong there awesome I recently bought a Zero Suit Samus Figma best figure I own but I badly want an Action Figure of Ridley or Dark Samus, I want to see Metroid Lego sets, I want to see Metroid Halloween Costumes I mean come on Master Chief has a Halloween Costume it wouldn't be hard to make Samus one and no those Zero Suit costumes don't count as cool and hot as they are, but you get my point as a big die hard Metroid fan I want more Metroid murch!
I am not a marketing man so I wouldn't know who the next series should be pushed for sound "business decision"-reasons. If we're talking solely on terms of Nintendo-owned and succesful sales, I suppose I'd go with Ring Fit and other various "fitness"-based characters since I feel like that'd satisfy Nintendo's desire to also be making devices and so on, not just software. But personally? I want it to be Donkey Kong. I grew up with the Country games, and I can't help but want to see him grow into something that stands beside Mario himself- a franchise that lets us have more than just the one big bold platforming game per console generation... but yeah, they don't know if it's better to incorporate him into Mario rather than spin him off into his own thing, and that's where I'm afraid things will stay...
I’ve always found Donkey Kong, and the _Donkey Kong Country_ franchise in particular, to be much more compelling than Mario… accounting for both gameplay, and as a character, and even in terms of advertising and merchandising. I wish he could have a bigger presence, with more games, or course… and then he could still cross over with Mario for the appropriate games and movies 🤷🏻♂️
Arms really did get the short end. A decent enough game that brought to mind the fan favorite Wii Sports - Boxing, but hampered by poor branding and little support after the game's release window and a Smash cameo. I really do hope we see some update in the future, even if the IP gets folded into something else. A Punch-Out ARMS game could be an interesting take.
I'm starting the video now and say that Nintendo probably could really step into the MMO genre and create a big juggernaut. They obviously need to put a lot of effort into this and mustn't use existing IPs, so create a new one. And NO the plasytest (as we know what it is) is not the budget I'm talking about. It needs to be WoW or FF14 like of budget.
Too bad about Star Fox & Fossil Fighters, at least expand Super Nintendo World with a Star Fox themed space adventure & a Fossil Fighters themed dinosaur park.
It's not game music; it's from UA-cam's audio library. It was the first video I made (for Patreon) after deciding to move away from game music. On balance though, I think the videos work without music so I'll probably stick with that.
Give it another 5 years, Xenoblade will become more mainstream eventually. I think though it'll have to be done through games like X though. As they have more major appeal to the western audience
With how aggressively certain Chinese firms have been buying up Japanese developers, are you concerned any of Nintendo's partner studios could be bought?
I think Nintendo's learned from what happened with Rare. They bought Next Level Games because their owners were looking to sell, and Nintendo wasn't going to risk losing a longtime partner. (They seemingly split with Monster Games after Xenoblade 3D - I saw claims that it was due to some internal leak, but could never find more substantial evidence to back that up - so that's why they didn't save them from iRacing.) Nintendo's also in a healthy enough position where they could acquire basically any partner except for the huge ones (Bandai Namco, Koei Tecmo, Square Enix, SEGA). I bet that if anyone is looking to scoop up PlatinumGames, or Grezzo, or Good-Feel, Nintendo will counter their offer - possibly even if they don't believe a buyout could prevent them from collaborating again. They do work closely with both Eighting and Mages, despite them being owned by a company named Colopl that they won a lawsuit against several years ago, so it does seem like they're kinda flexible
It's possible but there were reports a few weeks ago that Netease, Tencent etc were rethinking this strategy so I don't know how long it will continue.
8:16 please do not push the hole Metroid should be for a Female audience only Star Wars tried to do the same thing and look what happened, Metroid has always been at it's core a Male audience Franchise, you so help me God try to appeal it for a Broader Audience I already know what they're gonna do, they would make Samus ugly and unattractive, they would take away the Zero Suit, they would make Samus a Marry Sue Girl Boss Jack Ass, they would ruin the Franchise and this is a lesser-known Series that doesn't sell well the moment they change Metroid and turn it into this the Franchise would go the way of the Dodo you thought Other M almost killed this Series you've seen nothing yet!
But you're probably gonna say oh but it's stars a Female as therefore it should appeal to the Female audience, have you people forgotten who Samus was based on? Elon Ripley from Alien, a Female Protagonist done right, Samus is not a Girly Girl Princess, She's not a Ray Palpatine from Star Wars thank God, Samus is my favorite type of Woman a Tomboy.
On Mii, I have to disagree. Its pretty clear Nintendo us in the process of dumping them. Miitopia's remake was trying to test the waters on them, but clearly it didn't do well enough. Nintendo Switch Sports features new characters over the Miis.
The Sportsmates were not created in less than a year because Miitopia underperformed lol I think it's also worth mentioning that Mario Golf: Super Rush came out after Miitopia and made Miis central to the campaign. There's definitely still some interest in doing things with them, and I wouldn't be surprised if we see Nintendo leverage them more on the Switch successor. Especially because the Sportsmates weren't received well
@ It doesn’t take that long to make a character especially when most of the game is the sports. The Miis are there already so they pretty much just pushed those characters to the side and put the Sportsmates in their place (which it wouldn’t be hard to do) Nintendo also didn’t make Super Rush. Miis are dead.
@@smashmonkey6304 Nintendo is on record as saying that from the very beginning, they were considering new characters for Nintendo Switch Sports, including more outlandish designs like college kids and robots. And that was before they rebooted development, which eventually led them to the Sportsmates. Also, weird to say Miis are dead because Super Rush wasn't made in-house when Miitopia originally was
@@smashmonkey6304the most likely reason why they took on sportsmates for switch sports over miis is (imo) probably because they want to try and build Nintendo Sports out to be its own IP and have it break away from all of the wii series games. not because one or two past games featuring them “flopped”

I would love it if Metroid prime 4 really elevates the series to new heights.
Or minis to TTRPG nerds and/or people who just enjoy modelling)
Merchandise for Miis - Mr Potato Head style toys in a range of skin tones.
Pikmin isn’t my kind of game, but I’m very happy for the fans of the series.
As someone who grew up loving scifi like Star Wars and Star Trek I would love if Nintendo pushed Metroid and Star Fox more
Good morning Nintendo Forecast!
In August I saw pikmin on the train a lot.
Donkey Kong Country! That is bigger than Pikmin and next year, I wouldn’t be surprised if we get a new one that is multiplatform, Switch 1+2.
10:33 yes indeed, there is no such metroid game with chibi charracters released in 2016. :^)
And you know what happened to that Metroid Game?
Let's just say as someone who played it I think it makes Other M look really good.
I thought Kirby and Donkey Kong were higher up
Yeah, my bet is definitely more on a surprise breakout from a completely new franchise than “cult classic” ones that have yet to surge despite multiple games well loved by fans.
16:39 So close, it’s not Star Fox Adventures that usually gets mentioned in your comments. It’s Star Fox ASSAULT 😭
STAR FOX IN THE THUMBNAIL! STAR FOX IN THE THUMBNAIL! STAR FOX IN THE THUMBNAIL!
I'd argue matt from wii sports, the default male & female miis or nikki from swapnote are the most iconic miis, I'd love little figurines of them
As the biggest ARMS Fan there is, I've been saying that the name is probably the worst possible thing they could've come up with, you'll never top the results over the actual limbs or the firearms industry 😭.
Honestly tho, this game would've 100% sold better later on on the switch's life, just look at Ring Fit
oh hi goat
@olimar_09 👋
Even before Metroid, it's big sister -
Famicom Detective Club
@@zeeborsloweffortchannel3889 Sadly that’s now in the same boat as the morher series now as Sakamoto recentlt said he’s done with the series now
I don’t think FDC has a big chance of going big, considering it’s a visual novel, and those are inherently very niche.
@@steveqi9309 So is The Last of Us and Fate, but Sony's entire gaming (and music) divisions are based around those.
@@zeeborsloweffortchannel3889 I know people like to joke Sony games are just movies, but they’re really not the same as visual novels. Although they are story focused, they still have gameplay, and they have realistic graphics, mocap cut scenes with voice acting, and often big spectacle fight scenes. They just have significantly wider appeal than visual novels, which are almost all using an anime art style, and often times isn’t voice acted so reading is required.

While I think fire emblem is far away from being as big as Mario and Zelda I think it is absolutely still worth some consideration, fire emblem heroes is their best performing mobile game by a wide margin
Imo Fire emblem is clearly their biggest “anime-esque” franchise and it does certainly have a lot of appeal, and there’s definitely some great possibilities for adaptations into other media and even merchandise
I think the biggest roadblock is that Fire Emblem isn’t super “nintnedo-y”, I mean it is their franchise they’ve owned for a long time but I think everyone gets what I mean
Regardless I think it is something they could possibly push as a more teen focused franchise, similar to Metroid
Nintendo doesn’t have full control over Fire Emblem, so that’s off the table.
FE can’t really get much bigger than it is right now. It’s pretty much at the JRPG ceiling saleswise along with things like persona and final fantasy.
@@aegisleague4053 Right now the the best selling Strategy RPG franchise is Super Robot Wars, with Fire Emblem coming very close. Meaning strategy games are usually a hard selling in the west.
The Pikmin sandwich must be conflicting for vegans 😅
Just ignore them. No, not the Pikmin. The attention seeking herbivores.
@DontKnowDontCare6.9 lol those are probably a bit disproportionately represented online tbh
@@DontKnowDontCare6.9 you do realise evermill was making a joke right
You do not want to know what I'd sacrifice to make it Star Fox
I think the Nintendo Music keyart is also a nice reference point for what Nintendo considers to be their flagship (in-house) franchises
Star Fox is a fat RIP atm, but hopefully it gets another chance...
I would not be surprised if Miyamoto has something to do with Pikmin being pushed this hard
EA alone has this mentality of acquiring game devs, then killing their franchises. Like SimCity.
I'm in Japan right now, and there us Pikmin stuff everywhere. A little game Tokyo Train TV, snacks at 7-Eleven (bought these cute little macarons with Pikmin on them), I've even seen a store with way more Pikmin merch than Animal Crossing
I think it’s gonna be Nintendragons
I mean…obviously.
Even if it’s not seen as a “household” name to Nintendo, Kirby is my goat.
Realistically it’s due to them not fully owning it, but then again, Pokemon is mentioned. Maybe that’s just due to how massive Pokémon is.
Kirby is literally the most popular Nintendo character in Japan, too bad his populatiry is not like that in the west
Japan usually likes cute characters more than the West.
What are your thoughts on Fire Emblem? Is there any hints of Nintendo having a vision for that franchise?
Platinum Games is currently workin on a new IP.
Pokemon: Are you challenging me? 😮
@@KevZ7. The problem is that Retro Studio's is too busy with Metroid.
It's like Nintendo feels only Retro can make DKC.
When Disney bought Star Wars they tried to make it a Girl brand and look what happened, Metroid may star a Female Protagonist but it is not a Girls brand Series, Metroid has always been at it's core a Male dominant Franchise, and for the record I'm not trying to sound Sexist there are Girls who play Metroid but if you asked them this question they most likely would not want the Franchise to change just to appeal to them, and another reason why it's a bad idea is because Metroid is a lesser-known Series that doesn't sell well the moment they change Metroid and turn it into this the Franchise will go the way of the Dodo, you thought Other M almost killed Metroid you've seen nothing yet!
something tells me a remake of star fox adventures wouldn't sit too well with fans, best-case scenario they take what they can get, though it would probably come across as tone deaf considering all they really want is the classic gameplay (done well). perhaps either in the form of a remaster/remake of assault, or an extra fancy port of zero, more along the lines of the xenoblade definitive editions? if you polish that game up enough it might be worth something, at least as a warm-up before something bigger. that being said, the prospect of a new game feels far off, considering nintendo's lax approach towards finding developers for dormant series (albeit they are growing fast internally), and the potentially massive investment required to realize any ideas that would attract general audiences, relatively speaking. the potential it has to expand beyond games is too big to ignore though, like you said
I think nintendo has it's eyes on star fox because they had tried to make a starfox along side a ,zelda show in 2015
We do need more Metroid murch ya we have the Figma and Jakks Pacific toys but those are just Action Figures of Samus which don't get me wrong there awesome I recently bought a Zero Suit Samus Figma best figure I own but I badly want an Action Figure of Ridley or Dark Samus, I want to see Metroid Lego sets, I want to see Metroid Halloween Costumes I mean come on Master Chief has a Halloween Costume it wouldn't be hard to make Samus one and no those Zero Suit costumes don't count as cool and hot as they are, but you get my point as a big die hard Metroid fan I want more Metroid murch!
It's Fire Emblem.
StarTropics is ready for its time in the sun.
I grew up with the Country games, and I can't help but want to see him grow into something that stands beside Mario himself- a franchise that lets us have more than just the one big bold platforming game per console generation... but yeah, they don't know if it's better to incorporate him into Mario rather than spin him off into his own thing, and that's where I'm afraid things will stay...
honestly
they need to put more foxus on monolithsoft and xenoblade as a whole
It's F-Zero btw get ready for it.
Too bad about Star Fox & Fossil Fighters, at least expand Super Nintendo World with a Star Fox themed space adventure & a Fossil Fighters themed dinosaur park.
J was watching the video for over 2 minutes and then UA-cam gave me a notification for the new video. We'll done…
Bring back Dragalia lost. Also Pokémon, Kirby, Metroid, Fire Emblem and Xenoblade don’t count
What's the music you use in this video?
It's not game music; it's from UA-cam's audio library. It was the first video I made (for Patreon) after deciding to move away from game music. On balance though, I think the videos work without music so I'll probably stick with that.
Give me a Mama Shoka amiibo!
Give it another 5 years, Xenoblade will become more mainstream eventually.
I think though it'll have to be done through games like X though. As they have more major appeal to the western audience
All I hope to see is more Xenoblade merch. Maybe one day as much as Persona or even Fire Emblem lol
Persona is owed by Sega, not Nintendo.
man new leaf the wii u and 3ds miles better than new nintendo stuff its rushed and bland and lifeless!!!
Make a video on yoshiaki koizumi
Sorry this video is complete nonsense
A new Starfox Adventure is coming, we will see it between february and april

On Mii, I have to disagree. Its pretty clear Nintendo us in the process of dumping them. Miitopia's remake was trying to test the waters on them, but clearly it didn't do well enough. Nintendo Switch Sports features new characters over the Miis.
The Sportsmates were not created in less than a year because Miitopia underperformed lol
I think it's also worth mentioning that Mario Golf: Super Rush came out after Miitopia and made Miis central to the campaign. There's definitely still some interest in doing things with them, and I wouldn't be surprised if we see Nintendo leverage them more on the Switch successor. Especially because the Sportsmates weren't received well
@ It doesn’t take that long to make a character especially when most of the game is the sports. The Miis are there already so they pretty much just pushed those characters to the side and put the Sportsmates in their place (which it wouldn’t be hard to do)
Nintendo also didn’t make Super Rush.
