Though written with the young band in mind, this exciting composition packs plenty of drama and intensity in less than 2 minutes! Featuring active percussion writing, powerful brass statements and woodwind flourishes, this is a perfect program opener for any occasion or festival.

My school band affectionately named this piece 'death to woodwinds'.
Bro I played this piece twice on flute my first time and oboe my second a literally it’s one of the easiest pieces I have ever played
I play flute but my band teacher gave me the oboe part but I have to switch to flute on the solo and I just want to die everytime I play this
Brass ;)
I'm an oboe and we called all the sixteenth-eighth notes doodlies and every time we took this song out we were like "OH NO NOT THE DOODLIES"
@@Julia-bc2ij iconic
sounds like the start of a news broadcast
"We are. Channel 5. *whole crew turns and looks at the camera and smile*"
I'm so glad I'm not the only one!! We're playing this at my school now, and no one else hears it!
Ya
Nooooooo! I never noticed that! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Cant unhear that!
:)
all dislikes are definitely from the clarinet section.
shoutout to all the clarinets who had to play this in band though. i feel your pain.
*Edit: ok flutes too
Repulsethemonkey when the band director tried to play this like twice as fast as it's supposed to be played i cried
Wyatt Inghrim were they successful?
Listen to Song and Dance!! First clarinet ;-; man kms
I don't know why but after 3 measures I die.
I have to play it on my flute. I HAVE TO PLAY THOSE THREE FREAKING NOTES OVER AND OVER AGAIN. They will haunt my dreams.
RIP Clarinets and Flute players
Billy Games and mallet percussion
@@box3229 Exactly, like where the love for us XD
and first mallets!!!
I can't even play the first part I hate memorizing rhythms
@@carlyensor3699 same
Play 1st clarinet, practicing the first few bars at 160, fails, cries
plays 2nd alto. Plays whole song perfectly then sneezes as the song ends. Hits mouthpiece in the back of the throat. Trys not to cry.

Everybody's talking about the woodwind part (which I'm sure is hard, I wouldn't know), but nobody's talking about the snare part. My arms practically turn to jelly after a good practice session.
Factsss the last half is impossible to keep up with lol
66 to end got me feelin like my arms are cut off
Thank you it’s actually tiring to keep up when playing at full speed
THANK YOU OML
On god
This makes me think of cloudtop cruise in Mariokart 8 for some reason. And trust me, that's a GOOD thing.
+Samurott Gaming Inc. yup
Honestly replace the current Cloud top Cruise theme for this
I'm having flashbacks.
its ya giRL

This reminds me so much of Super Mario Galaxy.
LVStellar2 it does…
Same, I love how Super Mario Galaxy was orchestra, we're playing Flight of the Thunderbird in Band which is also by the person who made this song (Richard Saucedo), and the name of this song even matches the theme of Super Mario Galaxy to!
Oh yeahhh
emulationStation me too!!
emulationStation ikr
I am playing this song on Xylophone / Marimba right now, and enjoy playing it during every rehearsal. The speed is the most difficult part of the song, but it is so much fun to play !
saaaaaaame!
Me too!
Woodwind:U are right
sanic speed flutes intensifies
*Speed clarinet eighth note A-B Alternation intensifies*
+Lunar Stray *fingers decintegrate*
*loses brains cells*
I AM PLAYING THIS AND IT IS HORRIBLE I PLAY CLARINET BTW
I'm playing this on oboe. You have to move your fingers REALLY fast
This reminds me so much of Super Mario Galaxy, it feels like a song for it, Super Mario Galaxy was orchestrated anyhoo
That little motif in the oboe at 0:48 is just so magical...
I'm actually an 8th grade alto sax myself, and I remember doing this in 7th grade 😂. The clarinets and flutes kept complaining during thus piece while the saxes and bass clarinets had to deal with them. At least, that's what we thought... Our teacher caught us talking to each other about it and made us play that part to try it. Much, much sympathy was felt for the clarinets and flutes 😫😂
Lucky I have to do it in 6th as a alto saxophone playy
Im 7th right now and im really excited to play this because the highschool that is close to my house invited our school band to watch them play at a football game and this was one of the pieces that they played
Same lol😂
I’m currently in highschool playing this. And my fingers and tounge and brain are working OVERTIME trying to do the doodlydoos 😭
All of us were suffering through this in like middle school: you got hella lucky to be doing it in high school.
Clarinets are dying
Flute oboe or clarinet? 😭
Every time my friend, aka fellow first clarinet, and I play the beginning and end of this, we look at each other, trying to see who can mess up the most. It's pretty even once we realize, every time, that we both look like buffoons with our faces red and cheeks puffed up😰😂
PikaGelly LITERALLY ME AND ALL THE CLARINETS DURING AREA BAND
Im a tuba player..this is hilarious to me. Watching all the clarinets with puffed up cheeks 😂😂
Ik its a bit late, but I played with my middle school's top band when I was a 6th grader. We played this piece. I could play maybe 5 Measures? Good times.
played 1st clarinet on this omg i wanted to die. It sounds nice but playing it is hell
roasted
Pbtrooper89 grade 2.5 isn't difficult, but the beginning of this piece especially becomes extremely difficult to play on first clarinet after about two measures. when we played this, all i can remember is how out of time the clarinets would get with one another
Pbtrooper89 It is when you're pressured to be 1st chair which is weird cuz you've only been playing for a couple month compared to everyone else who's had 5 years of experience yet they really suck
t YESSSS!!! We started playing this song and I'm first chair for clarinets... every time we get the song out, I always say, "Okay, first clarinets.... Are you ready to play the Death Song?"
I play flute on this but clarinet sounds hard
Playing this song in band... I have the flute solo!!! xD
Owrooh no you dont
@@Yoyobb409 how did u know he didn't ? Lol.
TacticalCat 041 😂
@@Yoyobb409 😂 Idk why I'm replying to a two yr old post lmao
there are 153 notes for measures 0-17 for flutes, it's so tiring, I felt like i died playing that...
Mjqlaughy Jackson yikes us trumpets have it easy
*Laughs in french horn lmaoooooo*
We got to speak with Richard Saucedo, it was so fun
Got the trombone solo... let’s get ittt
Pon Mobile Fortnite there’s no solo for trombone
Lmao
Omg love this song. playing it for our opener at our spring concert 👌
What instrument did you play?
this was the opener in the Wichita East high bands show Soaring 3 years ago
We won state!!!!!
Sometimes I hear a melody in my head and I stress so much when I can’t remember where it’s from. Into the clouds just popped into my mind and I found itttttt. Couldn’t remember the title for my life
My band director just called the clarinets and flutes the “doodle-doots”
3rd chair all district tuba here! Loved this song and played with some of the best players in the area!
Played this at all-region. It was awesome
I'm playing this but the marching version for my school's field show and I'm so glad I chose to do colorguard this year instead of clarinet for marching
Playing this on clarinet for Honor Band. I'm not used to this stuff XD
MonsterJamTV Nope.
Arendellian Skyfall You from Santa Ana?
Sightimex3 Nope.
Arendellian Skyfall Really? I'm playing this song for the Santa Ana honor band
Sightimex3 Vegas, baby.
As a trumpet, love this piece :D
I'm trumpet 2 and I love this
We were supposed to play this at my Christmas Concert, but we cut and now we’re playing it for my spring concert ★
What's the point of the piano if you can barely hear it?
It's the background noises that you can barely hear that really complete a piece of music
My band teacher had us play this song in under a minute and 40 seconds… and we had to turn our music stands around! I was the flute playing the solo and I was an absolute nervous wreck before the concert. It was all I practiced the week leading up to our concert 😅
As the only tenor person here i have to say...
I respect clarinets and flutes have my upmost respect now
**Tips hat**
and mallet percussion pls!!!
@@TheNueKid4 Oh ye bells- props to you
@@meowmeowmagic2528 thanks! :)
The Flute, Clarinet and Oboe Triplet at 0:33 made me cry....
Playing this for All County so excited!
This is one of the funnest songs I have ever played in band. I play it on 1st Trumpet.
If anyone is here we're playing this song but the whole band is stuck in quarantine 😂 but I play the tuba so I can't see the flute an clarinets suffer.
My band is playing this as an opener for MPA can't wait!!!!
celeste bell What state so you live in? I'm pretty sure all states have mpa but I just wanna know 😀😀😃
Played this in Ventura county honor band. It was one of my favorites :) I played xylophone
Never been so grateful to not be a high woodwind player or percussionist
Playing this for region band, best song ever
This piece really embodies the quintessential Saucedo sounds
Im in 10th grade now and I played this in 8th and this has been one of my favorite songs so far along with encanto and among the clouds. And go french horns
richard saucedo is coming to my school in the spring :0
Such a Joy to play :D
We were going to do this piece for all county last year but it was too difficult according to the teachers. I was kind of upset because this is such a cool little piece! Maybe I'll get to play it some day.
I love this piece
if y’all wanna hear this song in 7/8 time, look up “radiance”. it’s like the exact same thing
no i know it already
Were playing Choose Joy in my band this year (also part of the unBroken project) very great piece
I love the part on 66 for the bass clarinet. SO DAMN COOL!
The Low E♭
We were supposed to play this for District Fine Arts Festival but coronacation!!! Let’s go
高校最後の年の定演のオープニングの曲だ
懐かしすぎる
友達から聞いたけど、小学校でも演奏したみたいです。(パート全部ではない)
I have to place this for assessments. Sounds awesome
Am I seeing the bari sax part coming in on measure 46 playing E instead of the bass line D? That's interesting
I’m playing this for band lmao
I think this piece is beautiful!
We played it my 10th grade year for part of our show, the theme was flight. Everyone calls it the god show of wmhs
Awesome! I really want to play this piece. Hopefully my director allows us!
+john apanovitch I hope so to it'll be an awesome experience for you
Ooh! We played this at my 7th grade “Milk and Cookies” concert!
this helps me out alot because I have a spring concert coming up and I am alto saxphone 2 and this helps alot and my music teacher
+Lauren Smith it's probably the hard pice of music that we have right now
Great piece for marching band
We have to play this for our 7th grade concert!!! Where my Altos at
My school's Adv. Band has no oboes so me and this other French Hornist has to play the oboe part ;w;
**dies**
Me too! A 19 year old just joined us for the Norwegian Championships, he's really good, so we sound awesome
In the honor band where I played this, we had no oboes, so they gave the oboe part to some of the flutes
I think we gave it to the sopran saxophone
U don’t mean the doodle doo parts right?
does anyone else think of disneyland wen they hear this
Wolf 098 I do
I think of universal studios
No.
I think of pain and suffering
I think of power rangers
I remember playing this in middle school wooooaaaahhhh
richard L saucedo what were you smoking making the snare part because my arms are falling off
The the first song in our halftime show this year 💀💀💀

Great memories of high school
Great piece. But, in unrelated news, I remembered I had cloud to butt plus.
My band is playing at severance hall tomorrow and I play xylo and tambourine and I'm so freaking excited
Jacob Koch yeah im playing the xylo fr my band and it is freaking fast but i like the little percussion solo's
omg i play xylo and tambourine but for dif songs
dang this was seven years ago lmao
I PLAYED THIS IN THE NEVADA ALL STATE BAND WOO!!!
As a trombone, I can say I've gotten lost in my many measures of rest. I have this for 8th grade honor band. Gotta get up a 6am & go to school on a Saturday, yee haw
ello, also a trombone here. i just listen for the trumpets coming in at 37 and zone out for the rest of 17-40 lol. i feel ur pain
plays 2nd alto. Plays whole song perfectly then sneezes as the song ends. Hits mouthpiece in the back of the throat. Trys not to cry.
MY POOR LUNGS (I’m a flute player)
I like the snare drum and bass drum together at 1:14
what are you guys yapping about the clarinet part is so fun and joyus
i playing bell in this music at the korean high school it has good sounds!
The bells part was so fun for this song. Get brass Mallets for this song if you can, it will just make the song sound so much better :)
I am playing the bells too it is fun
Its funny how we played this music because we actually combined four total bands-1 high school band- 3 middle school band( i was in the top band for middle school)it was a really big concert
Whoa, same! But for us it was only two middle school bands and most people are in both anyway (like me!), so it was a lot smaller :P
Splashing Wave were doing the same thing accept im playing the mellophone this time (last time i played the french horn)
1:15 personal note
I have to play triangle on this for a concert.
We did so good one this piece that our band teacher made us stand up and we weren’t supposed to stand up
Got straight ones with song my Junior year. Played tuba so I had a lot of resting to do lol, but when it was our time to go we couldn't be a single beat off.
We played this in December, last non corona concert 😭
2nd trumpet. In concert band. Nice.
I had to play the snare drum part....was really hard the first few times but eventually i got it.
Donovan?
Even tho this is like a level 3 piece it’s hella hard
1:34 to the end gets me so hype
should i get part 1 or 2
I played this on clirsnet
Second chair all county! I’ve yet to play this song, but in a camp a few years back the band above mine played this, so I’m familiar. Shoutout to anyone in carteret county honors band. (Reeee I have second chair I’m nervous) Edit: also yes I get it death to the Woodwinds. You can stop now.
I have to learn how to play this on percussion in two weeks and I don’t even know how to play percussion I have the triangle and the crash thing
Had to learn this one in 4 hours (with 3 other songs)
Don’t you just love district honor band
- a rando, baritone tc
0:30
This is where I played part 5 of this song on baritone
Same! At my school there's 2 baritones and no piano so we get to play that part.
@@Cocoiii At my college there was a rebuilding process with the band program so I was the only baritone player at the time
I feel like this should be a grade 3 or 3.5
i play the snear part 👌
What's a bass line?
I'm an eighth grade 1st clarinet doing this for honors band...... I'm so screwed and I only have a month left to get this down. Any tips?
how'd it go?
@@Obama272 it actually went really well :) we learnt it all in one day and i loved that day. it was a great experience.
I played that at my concert
I'm so sorry for all the Mallet Percussion Players ALSO. My part I can bearly play and I'm percussion 2. :(
I do the baritone to this. Can't get through 66 to the end right
