    Two points I took away and will follow:
    1) Track down expenses at each month's end.
    2) Ask myself if I can wait for the object for 30 days, and then ask if I still need it.
    Thanks for the video 😊🙏🏻

    Well said Ankur. I too am on this journey of FM since past 12 years and at age of 62 I feel liberated . Deep gratitude to my family , my advisors and the bitter experiences (my best teachers) which let this happen. You just put words in the mouth of my opinion on this subject. I dont bother being called names as long as I am on this path of Financial minimalism . So ,a big shout of Thank you .

    Your point of waiting for 30 days before buying something reminds me of the time when I asked my father to buy me a new gear cycle even though I had a normal cycle. He didn't refuse but asked me to wait for 2 months so that he could arrange money. And the same thing happened after almost 2 months when he said tomorrow we would go and buy your new cycle. I simply said no I don't need that now. I am used to this old cycle.
    I can say my father is a Financial minimalist. 🙂🙂
    Thank you for mentioning this point.

    Loved the video...
    Many of my colleagues ask me to get a car... according to them I'm having a stable income then why not buy a car...a car is a necessity right ? Well the simple answer is I don't really need it now... increasing the liability as soon as my income increases is a big no for me too...
    Lesson learned: I'm almost investing from 2 years now and still do not have term cover or health cover... instead of a car EMi I'm going for both immediately...
    Another thing I'm sure many users want to clarify is that while investing should we rely on a single app or use different apps to diversify portfolio...(as there are many apps available now) I am using a single app till now...how much investment can we do in a single app and for how long...this is something someone needs to explain to me very clearly.

    The best part was " whenever u wanna buy something, wait for 30 days and u will see that u wont want it anymore." Although 30 days are too much of a wait but following this strategy will actually eliminate anything and everything that doesnt come under needs. I am 34 and till date didnt have a bike, not even a bicycle and this was not because i couldnt afford it (motorbike) but never felt like spending there untill last month when i finally bought a motor cycle all in cash cause i never wanted to buy it on a loan or down payment. Infact, i wss going for Scooty just to spend lesser but my sister suggested bike as it has more utility. I have taken 1 loan in my life and trust me, i regret till date not because i cant afford paying that loan but just because of not being a bit financially smarter. Even though am earning around 80K. Its just that by the time we get some understanding, we already loose many years of our life. On every video, we see people talking about starting in 20s but who does cause that is the age most of us are not finance savy and by the time we get savy, we see that we are in 30s 😅

    • @desireworld-5421
      @desireworld-5421 Рік тому

      Term plan secures family when covered person dies. Its premium are much less in compared to traditional endowment plans because it does not give return at maturity. Three things a young person should do in finance is.
      1. Take medical insurance
      2. Take term insurance
      3. Do SIP regularly as per requirements ( if can't fulfill as per required goals then whatever amount one can do at the start, slowly increase as per income)
      Atleast these need to be done to secure finance and after this there are lot more instruments to invest in

    I didn't understand what's the difference between wants and delayed gratification bcz i have been following your content and everytime I hear this the only thought is if that's what comes under our want then should we also think that in terms of delayed gratification and if so then what's meaning of saving the money for your wants

    • @taashi6709
      @taashi6709 Рік тому

      Ma'am, if I may say something then actually this want thing is very tricky. Your want may look waste to me and mine may look avoidable to you. So actually it's all depending what your needs are as want is a trap and the society we live in, your wants are getting decided in society you live, just think about it. May be i saw a jacket on my friends body and suddenly it became my want. May be if I didn't see it or had that desire to look good like others, that jacket wouldn't have become a want. So it's very tricky, hence I always try to keep my desires in control unless I m like ankur warikoo sir or someone similar like him who is earning really really good.
