I’ll probably end up with the build that has a 90 driving layup - or a more balanced finishing build (the version with 80 layup and driving dunk) for those who are curious on which my build the preference is!
I don't understand at all the thought process the devs took for Driving Layups considering the skill and floor scanning ability required to make it justified even at something like 80, which is still low if you like to play on Normal or High Risk. Driving Dunk, at the contrary, is incredibly cheap and it actually doesn't ask you that much because you can still finish through contact and somewhat late help defense contests even with an 80. Add to it the fact that having a 97 Layup doesn't still bail you out from having to really think how to take contact at the rim. It doesn't really give you an ability to "speed up" a layup if defenders are approaching, and even with the Legend badges, although helpful, you need quite a lot of skill to make those, which would be understandable if only others aspect of the game required you to break the same skill-ceiling. In a way, I'm not so much asking 2K to make it easier, but not to water down other aspects of the game like steal spamming and make layups so weird even with high ratings.
This is 100 percent the kind of well thought out feedback I enjoy reading and all I can say is that I agree, but my latest tutorials on layups somewhat give you an idea of how they designed layups in this game. But great post man!
@koppurbro i think the way layups were so good last year definitely impacted thr design of layups this year. Scoops and floaters are basically the riskiest layups in the game, a huge turn around for how they were last year
also had a similar 6'6" pg build.. but the difference is i opted out for physical finisher + lay up mix master in tandem for strong handles rather than posterizer.. and when you released your unstoppable lay up video i realized how cheesy is that build.. lol.. though i respect the posterizer badge.. make the build more similar to anthony simmons.. and btw would love to see you make a blazer playnow online gameplay.. simmons + sharpe combo is fun to play with dunking on people's heads..
I’m more likely going for a similar setup after labbing the build in MyNBA a bit! Going for that 90 plus layup just because it’s so good man lol. Will focus on MyCareer for now then back to the PNO streets!
What they said! It’s basically a risk, so I will not guarantee that 84 swb is the threshold but based on past 2Ks and ani requirements, its the method that works in giving us an idea what attributes to shoot for in getting certain animations
No, I'm leaning towards a version that gets the elite layups instead. I just think with the discoveries I made to layups, it's gonna be really good when I start applying that pressure in the paint!
I’ve been in the lab doing the same thing I made so many variants of this build and each time I just feel like even after the first set of cap breakers I really do need that extra 5 but I don’t have time to be playing/grinding this game like that
You don’t have to play rec online in order to get xp for your myplayer. You can just play starting five with your my players and still get season and my player xp so you can get your cap breakers faster. Also you can test different animations out
I really like passing, was thinking about taking the 3 point rating down to an 83 for bronze limitless and pass acc up to 90 (and then +5ing that). You think that's gonna be too low of a threeball? Middy will stay the same as yours
@@tjf.994that’s basically the message of the video, there’s enough options to customize this build for your playstyle. Even one with high driving layup
I tried to make one of these in anticipation for this video and I couldn't get anything I liked. The 2 Way Point 4 build is still my favorite to play with. Excited to see what you came up with. Regardless I'm definitely making one of these though, I need to escape MyTeam 🤣
Build looks good. If i were gonna change anything to raise some other areas id say i would lower 3pt and mid range and use some cap breakers on it. I think since you will be taller than most people guarding you that you dont need such high shooting to make shots. I would also lower agility to like 76/77 because i have been able to defend with those numbers. I dont really go for steals like that so i would just shoot for 60. I think booker dribble style is great so i would just try to get 80 swb. Doing so i would hope to raise layup to a higher level. I just do not like how limited they made large guards this year. I really enjoyed being a 6’8 pg last year. Now its near impossible to make a good one. Put one category into 90+ and you are basically done.
Man I would love to, but I've just been too far off from current gen to even consider this. If this post gets like I don't know, 200 likes then let's do it. I just don't know that there's enough interest for current gen right now especially with PC being next gen. I do have much respect for the current gen community because for the longest time as a kid, this is how I played sports games too. Stuck out with current gen til we were able to get the next gen console way down the line.
Thats fine if you want kobe sigs, we’re not gonna be dribbling much and just need basic dribble moves for the playstyle edit: Oh I get it, I said in the video it was 87. Good looks bro!
66 layup is a waste. Need minimum of 70 for strong finisher badge but 80 is where you really want to be. 70 vertical is nice too for Malik Monk dunk package. Booker, Monk and quick drops are fire with 80 dunking
I make this exact point in one of the build variants. If you can get to 80 layup - you get silver physical finisher and austin reaves layup which imo is way better than 80 dunk.
I’ll probably end up with the build that has a 90 driving layup - or a more balanced finishing build (the version with 80 layup and driving dunk) for those who are curious on which my build the preference is!
@@KevinCruz016 on the 90 layups one you don’t have high flying denier so is it worth to keep blocks at 68?

man, I’m with you . well said . they make layups waaay more complicated than they need to be . and dunk is free af 😂
100% agree. The fact I can’t get a layup off before the help defense gets to me is so ass
@@sehrlangsam98 the devs must have hated how good layups were last year. They basically killed finishing this year.

How do you know that sga dribble style is 84swb if it isn't out yet?
You find it when editing SGA or players in MyNBA
Talked about it in a previous video. I think he tried making myplayers and equip the db on it and 84 was the threshold

None yet man, but I’m on Twitter and a discord is something I might consider in the future!
is SGA better than Zion for 6'5+ guards?
100 percent man! Might be the best dribble style in the game!
damn, it's not out yet, is it?
Not yet, in my MyNBA roster test, 84 is the threshold but not confirmed yet so if you want to be super safe wait on the swb requirement til then!
