Already all petrol bunks have 10% ethanol. We are using that for our daily commute.. Now the government has increased to 20%. Automobile industries have to upgrade their engine to support flex engines.. after that only the government would have introduced e20 petrol..

India is food surplus country. Even for rice. And no govt will let the food security to fail. Because in election the party will lose. And USA and other countries are also 20% ethanol using. They are all doing fine. Only valid point I see is the ground water issue. But how much ever I personally want to advocate for the nature, India cannot drastically care because it is in a rapid developing phase on competing with China. It's now or never opportunity for us. So nature unfortunately will be put to risk.
