A suggestion: Make the wolf do a agressive headshake once it grabs the prey, so it looks like hes mangling/finishing it, I just find the way the hare just teleports already dead in the mouth kinda... meh. But amazing work otherwise! Cant wait to play it!
Agreed! I also have a small suggestion, when you’re hunting as a saber you should be less detected by prey, since felines have low energy, they will have to sneak very close to the prey to catch it. Not sure if there’s already a mechanic for that thought lol.

This is awesome but I think the upwind/downwind needs fixed, it's very confusing! Upwind means the wind blows from you to the subject (in this case, prey), like being upriver. Downwind, like being downstream, means the wind blows from the subject towards you. You've got them swapped 😅
Defo! Omg I just noticed that
upwind/downwind refers to the direction you are facing relative to the wind direction. If you are facing upwind then the wind is blowing toward you, thus scent from farther away is carried to you.
I think it's a matter of the game needing to clarify if you are upwind from they prey or if the prey is upwind from you.
@@Angels_Ashes From the looks of it, it already does that, and even tells you which is good/bad. But it has the words swapped, saying "Upwind (Good)" when if you were upwind you would be noticed immediately by your smell
Edit: I actually realized that's not what you meant, you meant which the label refers to, and yeah, that would be good 😅 I think most people will default to thinking it refers to the player though tbh, like "yes my status is upwind"
@@mswolfy811 Correct, downwind should be preferable since the wind is blowing towards you, meaning that the scent of the prey goes to you instead of the scent of you going to the prey.

Cenozoic, (now ecos) has come so far from its early beta days. I genuinely cant wait for the release!! Ive personally played since Cenos beta, and to see all of the progress the devs have made makes me really happy. ^^

The fact that Cenezoic Survival and this game are free (most likely) is actually amazing! I personally am a fan of Cenezoic Survival, and I think it's a very well-made game, so I just wanna give a big fat thank you to Charley Goji and all the other ppl that are helping develop this game, because it's truly going to be a masterpiece, and if you can make 1 masterpiece which is Cenezoic Survival, why not make another one!
OMG, ITS SO COOL! I cant wait to play as a wolf or saberthoothed cat and catch AI Prey! I think loosing the baby animals has been rewarded with AI prey [in my opinion], Since its more cool & better for poor ppl servers who doenst have sufecent ppl to hunt! I hope the game realeases soon but Devs, take ur time to make the game out whenever you want! We are just really hype and happy :D

I will definitely take not starving as a wolf who can't find any people and hasn't learned the map yet over being a baby animal, huge improvement!!

For many players raising babies in game sort of brings a feeling of accomplishment, and a more permanent feeling to the world rather than “oh, got killed, time to reset into the same thing”, if that makes sense
@@user-fb4ny9oz5p Yeah, I get that. Raising a calf and watching it grow up or coming from a calf to a full grown elk is a great feeling, and is makes Cenozoic Survival so '"rewarding." However, I am glad that as a wolf, I we be able to play solo and not starve because I can't find a player to kill. You make a really good point, however!

I thought being downwind of something is good? Upwind would just alert the prey to the wolf, based on scent. Upwind pushes scent forward, downwind pushes it back, in a sense. So if a wolf was approaching something upwind, it would immediately smell it and flee.
The wind is in relation to where your looking, if your looking upwind then the wind would be blowing into your face giving you scent, not in relation to what your looking at.

@@Ecos_Roblox you have them swapped though. That's not how the terms are used irl. If you are down wind of somthing the wind is coming down to you from the animal, if you are upwind the wind is going up from you to the animal, -signed a hunter and one who studied animal behavior and biology. Using your own version of the terms is great ...but it just doesn't work in this instance because upwind and downwind are common knowledge.
The wind is also not based on where you are facing but how the wind is facing you relative to the animal, for example a rabbit , the wind is blow9ng from the rabbit down to you that woudl be downwind of the rabbit and the rabbit wouldn't smell you,
Another example, a coyote- you are upwind of a coyote in the woods and it scampers off because the wind is traveling up from you to the animal

I like the animation running of the dire Wolf. It looks pretty cool and very accurate.
Model is looking great! But one constructive comment I do have is that from the top perspective of the dog is that it barely has a stomache, for example in any normal animal from the top it has a noticable tummy. But it still is looking great!! animations are very smooth :)
OMG THIS IS 100% BETTER LOOKING THEN CENOZOIC SURVIVAL SECOND VERSION , but orginal cenozoic survival will always stay in heart as a nostalgic event

Actually, no, larger carnivores will still need to bring down large prey. The ai is just for snacks to keep your hunger at bay.

@@niahrahxx Yeah, since in Cenozoic Survival you are forced to always hunt big animals to fill your hunger if its at the medium, and if u didnt found an elk or quagga [and an kele or megalania doenst work since they are too dificult] ur practicaly dead if u dont find a carcass or that- so AI in Ecos is just like... a plan ''B''

this is super sick, i just hope that the ai is only small prey for when players are hunting alone, since it takes away from some fun and immersion if you're not hunting players

I love the AI chasing, it really puts the realism inside of the game, The chasing reminds me of those documentaries where Arctic Wolves chase down their prey, maneuvers, twist and turns.. all of that.. I can't wait for this game to be released ! 🐺
Everything looks so good! Watched this video multiple times now, and twice in slow mo. The movements of the dire wolf are amazing, and the rabbit looked pretty good too. The rabbit didn't seem to make much effort to escape, but whenever it tried to veer to the side there did seem to be something blocking it so I imagine that it would do a little more in the released game. Would be sick if the rabbit could attempt to speed up if the player ends up tail gaiting it for too long (since, from this short video, it seems a little too easy to nab it. might be different on release tho), but otherwise I'm pretty happy with this and I know that maybe some nit picks I have might already be in the game just not shown in the video (given how short it is). Nice work! I'm excited to see what else Ecos has to offer.

The devs said it was gonna realease in this year, and how we are seeing that they released alredy a video of AI hunting, we can say it will maybe release in 2 - 5 months, since it was a very big progress showing this alredy to the comunity, and yeah sometimes allot of games take like 4 or 5 years to take a game out TvT

This. Game. Is. Amazing. The animations, detail, and models it all has is just outstanding. The map look so realisitic, in fact, I feel like I could step into my screen and feel the mud and grass. Seriously, creators of this game, you have come SO far since the begginging of Cenozioic. Your progress is amazing, you can do anything! I am so excited for this game to be released!❤❤

What if when u catch the prey u have to press a random button to make sure u actually caught it and if u miss click you drop the prey and have to re-catch it (would be more realistic )

I noticed where the mini map is which is normally where the joystick or the touchpad controls in Cenozoic are will ecos not have crossplay?
And what's about Flat-headed Peccary? What kind of hunting system will he have?
Peccaries will roam around the map in herds. If you're a carnivore and approach a herd of them there may happen 2 scenarios:
If you're a wolf, they will warn you by Clacking their teeth( behavior used by Modern Peccaries to scare threats). If you get too close, the whole herd will charge at you
If you're Smilodon, the peccaries will just run from you( Although I'm not entirely sure if they will try to scare you first, or just run away)
@@duduz3450 runaway they do the same thing with jaguars and a smilo almost twice its size probs would
Peccary will utilize the same sneaking system, although depending on the size of your animal they may choose to attack instead of flee. They will be treated like larger animals in terms of actual combat.
@@mnkash2007 They do run away from Jaguars most of the time, but there are cases where the peccaries will gang on jaguars, making them a dangerous prey.

Just noticed the mini-map, very cool and awesome animations. Strangely, it appears that the leaves of what's supposed to be a coast live oak were actually taken from a different species possibly a black oak Quercus kelloggii. Upon closer examination, the bark as well looks to be from a different tree entirely, although at least has the grayish tone of Quercus agrifolia. Was there any trouble looking for the right pictures?

@@Pancake_Dragons It's really not. How would you like it if you played a game where orange trees were labeled apple trees. FYI I'm an amateur ecologist and a major interest of mine happens to be the health and restoration of native ecosystems - I live in California so I'm very familiar with our local flora and the problems it is facing. Most trees in video games are extremely poor in terms of physical condition due to the developers having no other point of reference other than a significantly degraded, disease-ridden landscape. But you know that stuff probably goes right over your head, you just want to play a game where you run around and kill things, I understand.
