@@void_ems5884 it is though, this combat system has more thought put into it than anything on steam involving creature sims. Only thing that matches and or surpasses it is wolf quest.

its so refreshing to see a survival/hunting game that actually gives the prey a fighting chance. i remember when i played "i predator" as a kid and how fucked you were if you got tossed onto the prey team, unless you happen to get lucky with the predators missing. really interested to see how this develops further!!
I mean I recall that the Lion vs Buffalo the Buffalo had a decent shot at combating against them, that said yeah I do agree with your statement.
Regardless, I kind of miss the “I Predator” games.
nahh the buffalo vs lions buffalo was almost always on top, i remember hating being on the lion team bc the buffalo's would easily win just by forming a line around the waterhole and could kill lions easy
Uh, since when have animal survival games not given prey the advantage? In pretty much every multiplayer animal survival game, the larger prey animals are always stronger.
You have clearly never played The Isle (Both Legacy branch and Evrima). The apex herbivores are literally the strongest dinos in-game and can easily match the Apex carnivores. The Isle amongst other games of course

@@duduz3450I feel like roblox games are better when behind a play wall even if just a small one. I used to play WCUE back when it was in early access and costed robux and now whenever I go back it's filled with people who ignore other players and try and be overpowered and it kinda sucks

the fact that this mechanic is gonna force players to behave realistically makes so happy 😭 so tired of hunting and the entire herd keeps bothering you, even after you make the kill.
I’m so glad that there’s an actual incentive for prey to ACTUALLY RUN AWAY FROM PREDATORS. In most survival games prey just piledrives you into the earth nonstop until you die because there’s no paramaters against mobbing.
Facts, I really hope that herbivores won’t be able to attack while other herbivores are around but I am just happy with the systems we already have since it seems like both flee and spook mode force you to run but I could be wrong.
@@nojorooney i do think some herbivores shouldnt be forced to run or get spooked like a dont think an adult male bison would get spooked by 2 wolves but i atleeast think it should have the choice to run or face the predator and then there are some animals who probalby be unspookable (mammoths)
@@mnkash2007 a bison would definitely get spooked by a surprise attack from any amount of wolves, even one gray wolf can definitely do damage to a bison if they get their jaws around it let alone a dire wolf which is about 25% bigger and most likely hunted bison a lot more often than gray wolves, plus I feel like that still just gives the bison an incentive to just charge and dog pile the dire wolves which definitely isn’t very realistic for bison which prefer to stand their ground or run
@@nojorooney attacked yea the bison can flee as far as it wants but if it sees the wolf before it attacks thats what i mean

i appreciate being able to see cinematics AND gameplay from the player's perspective, including the perspective of the herbivore and carnivore player. i also like that the actual simulated parts (alert sounds, scent systems, hunting, etc) are an actual part of the gameplay and not something you heavily push onto the players to simulate themselves
Same! It's so nice to see, as in the current game tracking is almost impossible to do atm since tracks fade so fast and you can only walk/trot to try and reach them not knowing how knew the track was. Plus, i noticed it said "healthy" im wondering if they will be like sickness/health stuff so you can figure out which ones at the best target!
The howling at the end gave me some nostalgia from the beta version of Cenozoic survival. The Dire wolves would howl while in the most recent version they'd kind of just wail. Now it's kind of a mix of the two which I adore.
Man, finally an animal survival game that doesnt try to hide its lack of mechanics with stunning graphics!
Just a small detail i want to point out horses when galloping their ears go backwards to avoid air going inside their ears but overall the game looks fantastic

At last a survival game that gives both sides a fighting chance. And on top, its such a smart system. People will be playing realistically as part of the game mechanics, without trying to be realistic on purpose. Its a pretty smart way to coax players to behave naturally with high stakes. Definitely interested to see how you'll handle some of the major issues of survival games: mixpacking and kosing. With this hunting system, kosing will be a lot more challenging.

It's absolutely crazy to have been playing ALL the way back in 2005 when they only had basic block characters, they had Admin t-shirts and the currency Tix was a thing. It's so neat to see just how far Roblox has come since being a kid. It almost looks like it could be an independent game on its own. I'm loving all the new, almost life-like style it has grown into over the years. Go ahead and reply to this comment if you'd like to share your own Roblox experiences growing up.
And the best animal models were those made by doomcrow.
Comparing Roblox then to Roblox now is insane.

Fact that they added actual howls to dire wolves, I still remember they said howl barking is most accurate for dire wolves in cenozoic survival

this game is giving me lots of hope the more videos they make on its features. most animal survival games nowadays will just go the "tailride" type combat, but this is absolutely wonderful and im glad ecos is going to be such a well made game
oh my goodness this is goig to be SOOO fun for realism sessions with lots of people. Hell! even just plaing in a good public server as a lone wolf will be fun! I am genuinely SO excited for this game!
Sad that they won't have babies and other growth things like cenozoic survival but I'll enjoy it anyway

@@jellylemonade1655you're right but if i think about it, having babies would make the game more fun, like imagine you have some babies at some cave that you have to feed, its make the game more challenging and fun tbh but yeah having all of the animals adult only is not really a problem either.

This new Mechanics Trailer looks so so good! I’m even more hyped and excited for Ecos: La Brea to come out now!
I honestly doubt that the Ecos Team is going to make another game, right after Ecos: La Brea publicly releases, but I think it would be so cool if the next game, that the Ecos Team releases will be another Animal Survival game like Cenozoic Survival and Ecos: La Brea but instead of playing as a Prehistoric animal like you do in these two games, you play as a Dragon (and when I mean Dragon I’m referring to Dragons that you see in popular Media like House of the Dragon and Game of Thrones) instead.
I apologise for any bad Grammar or English/Spelling.
The Ecos team did amazing with this video! The camera angles and editing are something out of a short film. The players also did a great job illustrating the hunting mechanics and the narration is easy to follow without being slow.
Super excited for this game to come out :)
Imagine being able to roll in dung to get a temporary green scent (if predator) to cover your tracks. That'd be cool I think!

The fact this is apparently a roblox game is phenomenal to me, I am so used to even the best looking models being composed of shapes to be able to move like wcue, but these are full blown models to an actual realized game, it’s amazing and I would have never thought it would be related to roblox if it weren’t for tiny details like the buttons and fur texture

With each video, the game becomes more and more interesting, especially now. I'm looking forward to its release! I have a question about this game: how many attacks does a horse have in total? and how many attacks does the bison have in total?
Regardless of the graphic quality of the modles etc, the mechanics that this game has is honestly probably the best I've seen in a rolblox survival game like this.

Noticed at one point the white text telling you what wind direction you are realtove to was impossible to see against the clouds, maybe they could add a border around the text so people can see it more easily?
Many survival game (out of roblox) have less mecanics and are literaly just combat games whit animals, it's so cool to see how we have developers that love their game that much...plus 👀 i saw a tiny bee in the plants, +500 points for gryffindor XD
It looks nice but one thing can you make like the dire wolf run while biting on the back leg and the herb will get like a bit of a decrease in it speed edit: even tho it 4 likes ty

Would be interesting if they added a red - green color blind mode to the prey animals like real life deer and horses have. They see red as green so it would be more dynamic if your screen as an herbivore was red green colorblind.
Just and idea as I saw a cool documentary the other day. Probably too hard to implement anyway. This looks awesome either way
Not hard to implement a filter to a roblox game. Laggy, maybe.
It's an interesting idea that's for sure, but I don't see many people enjoying being forced into limited colour vision, unless it is taken as an optional challenge with in-game money or an achievement as an incentive. Basically a 'hard mode' for survival.

It was said that the Smilodon will be the last animal showcased. Since, you known, it's the most iconic and hyped out of the bunch

Exactly they need to add babies that was their biggest mistake
@@kkk-gf6sj Removing babies and growth actually helps the devs team by reducing the amount of extra work they would need to do( making new models, new textures, new animations, new script). Meaning that, the game will come out faster

A cool thing to add to the game to make hunting more interesting is to add twigs or branches of some sort so when you are hunting prey if you step on a twig then it has a chance of snapping, warning the prey.

Its so cool that theres just those tiny additons, like scent travelling, and being able to point out predators effectively that will make it more realistic. Usually alarm calls would be spammed, but now you have an effective system. Can't wait!
If this game has birds and animals and reptiles, i will maybe play that game forever!
I am excited to finally try this game out! I do have 3 3 questions; 1) Would a new player have to play as a herbivore or can they jump straight into being a carnivore? 2) Are there going to be locked animals that players have to unlock through XP? 3) How would players gain the XP?
In the trailer, the devs said that the XP is going to be gotten by completing misions that are going to be gived in-game!

I think you will get xp by doing Quests. The quests are based off what an animal would do in real life

for 2, i recall the devs saying in the qna video that the majority of animals that would need unlocking can be done so using missions, and if there would be any that cost robux, they can be grinded for with the in-game currency as well.

I love this system, it adds so much realism! The only problem I have with Roblox survival games is that players never really care about realistic survival aspects, hopefully these kinds of mechanics will encourage people to play more realistically and attract people who already prefer this kind of playstyle!

While I LOVE this preview of hunting & tracking, I'm very disappointed in the fact we don't get to see how the sabers will hunt, and how the bison will defend. It seems to be the La Brea's team's currently problem of only promoting the ancient horses and dire wolves, and not giving us a chance to see the other species and how they'll work.
It’s very possible that these are their designated testing animals, and that these represent an “average” of all four species. Once they have the saber and bison prepared, we’ll likely see them both getting their own unique hunting/defense videos that show off how these basic systems apply to each species.
Stay tuned and have trust when you are tempted to lose it!

based on what i noticed from the videos.. mind the direction the wind streaks are going in.
-upwind means the wind is in front of you, which gives you a whiff of the animal you're stalking. this is good.
-downwind means it's behind you, which gives the animal you're stalking a whiff of you. this is bad.
-and crosswind means it's either to your left or right, which probably means neither of you have an easier time getting a whiff of each other.
