    5:00 I mean, "closing the gap" so they couldn't merge doesn't seem like the smartest move either. Obviously not defending the black car, but if you don't try to intentionally block people at highway speeds maybe fewer of them will throw bottles at you.
    The smart move would have been to keep a safe distance from the dangerous driver.

      @@MonTueWedThu yepp, quite a few of the accidents and even near-misses could have been turned into a brake and short beep of the horn. But entitlement to what many believe to be 'their road' or 'their lane' often turns into honk fests instead of braking, then crashing.
      In some cases the cammers themselves were in the wrong or at least partially at fault.
      Pathetic.

      Braking doesn't show very well on video. It's almost impossible to tell when a pov cammer is braking without a speed display. It's very possible and even likely the cammer started braking right away and only once you hear the screeching did they floor the brake.

      @@Goldfish_Vender - Even with a speed display, those are typically GPS-derived and tend to have considerable lag. Dashcam manufacturers should look into tying into the G-force sensor most have and put a display on the screen that indicates rate of slowing/braking & acceleration.

      @@Goldfish_Vender Watching the rate of movement of various lane lines and markers can be used as an indicator for speed change.
      In doing so, it appears the cammer performed very little (if any) braking until reaching the intersection. There were approximately 3 seconds where it appears the cammer speed changes very little.

      @@Goldfish_Vender What? There is 0 nose dip at all, the line markers move at the same speed until they are no longer visible, and hell you can tell from the road noise there was no attempt. People do this all the time then blame others for what is easily avoidable. There's even a bit of target fixation as they started veering into the right lane.

    Some of you guys need to realize the horn is not the break and shouldn’t be your first reaction to a car being in front of you. Slow down and try not to hit it. Even if you have the right of way you should avoid accidents whenever possible. I’ve seen way too many clips of ppl speeding towards a car that dipped in front of them and instead of breaking them hit the horn and then get mad when they inevitably hit the other vehicle. The break is a response too!

    5:01 - when cammer noticed the black car speeding to pass them, they decided to speed up instead of just letting the lunatic go.

    4:40 the whole thing could have been avoided. It was obvious the guy wanted to merge but cammer made it his mission not to let the driver do so. Twice in a row and on purpose. Yes, the guy should have merged behind oncoming vehicles but seriously if you go out on your merry way to piss people off, don't be surprised when you succeed.

      so i am the owner to explain more into depth the white bmw was stopped closest exit to the light out of my view and the black suv was stopped to let him out an i see him leaving the lot so i go a bit more left in my lane because i am thinking he is going to the closest lane like he should be but nope goes across 2 lanes without looking hitting my vehicle

      I noticed the cammer changed lanes (crossed over a line visible at 8:29 that existed earlier [lane reflectors can still be seen] but was too faded to see) and I didn't hear a blinker activated. So they both called the other driver for not doing something they actually did, yet something they themselves later did not.
      I agree, still a bad move by the Honda, however.

    Left hand turn red light runners are becoming a problem everywhere. There are times I count up to 8 cars still going when it's green for the opposing traffic to go. They don't care, even cops do it here. If no one stops you and no tickets are issued... it just becomes part of people's driving habits. Like not stopping for Stop signs. All you can do is just assume everyone else is going to drive like absolute shit.

    3:07 I hope the cammer learned his lesson to check his right mirror before turning right, but something tells me that he did not. A friend of mine was recently turned away at the driving test for not checking the right side before turning. Because there's always a chance of a bicyclist being there.

    5:22 So you were camping the left lane, because others were? They aren't right to through debris on the roadways, but you should use the left lane to pass and promptly, when the opportunity arises, move right to allow faster traffic to pass you on the left. Creating traffic blocks like this is dangerous.

    6:14 Let me fix some of this for you: Tom was driving much too fast in the right lane past a line of stopped traffic in the left lane. Had Tom slowed down a bit, knowing that things can happen quite suddenly in this situation, he might have been able to stop without swerving into the utility pole.

      Correct. Between impatient drivers and unseen hazards it is always good to slow down when passing stopped traffic. That they were stopped on a green light of all things should have set off alarms.

      Tom was driving within a speed that was reasonable and prudent for the moment. I am sorry that this man had to go through this all, but I believe he did his best to steer away from the obstacle to minimize risk. To assume every drive should slow down when there is stopped traffic in a left lane is quite insane to me

      @@DDEATHBOMBB When I see stopped traffic on a street like this I assume they are stopped to let someone turn, or even worse there is a pedestrian crossing between cars (possibly some stupid kid), and I slow down until I can see that it is clear. That people are not aware of this is insane to me.

      @@DDEATHBOMBB - That "reasonable and prudent" speed appears to be faster than the posted speed limit of 35 mph. Also, if anyone has watched enough of these videos, they will have seen plenty of examples of why slowing down next to a stopped lane of traffic is prudent to reduce risk (by increasing the time available to react).

    6:22 see this type of accident often on this channel. A long line of cars stopped and oncoming turn lanes signal I need to slow down and be cautious for this very reason. It amazes how much faith people have in others, driving at or over the speed limit despite the obvious hazards.

    Did POSITIVEFREE actually ask why duallies are allowed? Have they never seen one before? In this case, the truck actually (usually) serves a purpose like a commercial truck would.
    Im all for small trucks, and believe most standard trucks are far too big for normal use, but a dually serves a purpose most standard trucks can't while also not being a dedicated big rig. At least that one isn't 9+ feet tall.

When talking about dually trucks, the vast majority are bought for the purpose they were designed for. If you had ever driven one, you would know that HD trucks are quite unpleasant to drive, especially without a load.

    The Pittsburgh incident at around the 5:00 minute mark: The driver of the car with the cam should let the aggressive driver merge in front of him. Defensive drivers always want problems in front of them so they can react accordingly. Don't continue a confrontation. Nobody's ego is worth their life.

    2:08 I used to be a resident of Burleson all my life until I moved to NC in 2020. Seeing this didn't surprise me one bit. That specific road from where the video was captured, and dragging all the way down to BHS is such a hazard for wrecks. So many idiot drivers there but so many poorly designed roads. Even when I went to visit family in April 2024, nothing changed, 3 accidents there in 1 day.

    2:06, the green light driver had the right of way, and the impact was so light the driver may have thought they just hit a bump in the road. It just peeled off the plastic bumper of the other car, it might not have been obvious that there was an impact.

      Not to justify it, but the Enlite dispensary in the background appears to be newly opened, and the P/U driver (assuming he was going there) signaled late cuz he didn't know exactly where it was. (Feel bad for that blue Ford just trying to leave the dispensary parking lot quietly, without incident or going viral thanks to somebody's dash cam.)
