Ashton, maybe you could do a “do all trans people think the same” video with some other trans people via zoom? You could cast a more diverse group, and it would be really interesting to watch!

7:43 when Xavier starts to describe how gender roles are hurtful overall but were somewhat helpful for him in figuring out his gender identity (which is a totally valid experience) it kind of reminded me of how sometimes people will say that they are "pro life" for themselves because they personally would never get an abortion but not for other people because it's their bodies. In that case, the person is actually pro choice they've just misunderstood what the terms really mean. @@deadboy5678 Yeah!! Like for a UA-cam bird channel I watch they have bird whose sex they don't know and they keep referring to the bird as he/she... like just use they, or honestly if they fight against that just chose a pronoun-- the bird doesn't care! I hope this isn't weird or anything, but your style is something I aspire to have and your relationship with gender identity is super admirable and something I resonate strongly with and!! just.. thank you for existing, you and your content make me feel so much more confident in my identity and gender expression
I'm only like 30 seconds in but gosh your gnc presentation (if that's the right word to use since what the fuck does "gnc" even mean when ur nonbinary) gives me such euphoria. I know you're just out here doing ur thing and being you, so I hope me praising you for it doesn't come off as weird/condescending. "Do i think the same as other trans people" The answer's for me a given on that one. I am trans person who both agrees and disagrees with other trans people. And i have to say i agree on your views and some kids do develop gd much later due to disorders, disabilities and brain chemistry AND hormonal imbalance. And i have to say great vid btw.
I hate gender roles!!! In my household my husband does more cooking!! I love doing yard work. We don’t fit into the typical gender role!!! I love that about us!! I hate most traditional stuff in general!!!
Love your thoughts as always! I watch those Jubilee videos a lot too for groups I’m a part of, and the Spectrum ones are usually pretty good. The Middle Ground ones however..... big Enlightened Centrist vibes. Especially with the one called “trans vs traditional gender™️”. Ew. Would you ever react to the do all autistics think the same one? I liked it, but thought it could be a lot more diverse. I’d say as an autistic leftist and neurodiversity advocate, I’m a lot more radical than some of them, and I found it annoying how the one nonspeaking autistic participant was kind of infantilized by the others. Curious to see what you think about it as someone who seems on a similar wavelength.
YES I saw the trans vs traditional gender one and like... what even is a ‘traditional gender’?? u mean a binary European gender?? why i’ve been asked abt the autistic one a couple times now, I’ll def consider it! you’re definitely right abt the nonspeaking person in the video was infantilized.
this was interesting to see. i think we tend to have similar thoughts on these sorts of things. and yeah, one thing that has always bothered me about channels like this is that they only share people's pronouns when the ones in a specific video are trans. i hate the implication that you'll know everyone else's just by looking at them :/ it feels very othering and just reinforces cisnormativity. the "spectrum" type of video, and the other kinds jubilee do, are definitely concepts i like but tbh with how i am, i tend to be bothered by the time they're done- because when i'm in a certain group of people and i don't see a point of view that was similar to mine,, it's just frustrating. i also think they could find a better, well-balanced variety of people in their videos. perhaps i'm misremembering? but i believe i have seen people who were in the videos say entire parts of conversation were cut out and that it changes the context. obviously they condense it for a shorter, more easily consumed video, but if that is true, it feels weird and inauthentic.
a lot of the ones where they have more conservative ppl on, they'll edit a lot of what they say out and stuff and it's weird to me. If it's a debate, let ppl speak and be heard, not just one group. idk, I think overall they're doing good. Hearing viewpoints other that yours is typically a great thing I think! Only being surrounded by those with your viewpoint just keeps you in a bubble. Good to understand the other side as well, and actually can help you form better arguments against them, lol.
In addition to the group they chose being mostly trans women - I also noticed that all the women were white i think? While both the trans man and the nonbinary person they cast were black. That seemed kind of odd to me.
I relate to Gina except I’m FTM I went through a period of time where I tried to be super feminine and although I do like some “feminine” things I always knew that it wasn’t me. I did those things to repress who I really am.
Hey Ashton, where did you get that sword earring?? I’m obsessed with it, I’ve been looking for an earring like that. Also I agree with every point you made in this video and I really appreciate your perspective. :)
I saw one on Michelle moe’s shop, Alien Moe (you can order it on big cartel.) I also saw them on Etsy from a shop called EarsbyEmilyShop, they’re called cool dagger knife!
Uhm, so I kinda love this. There are not enough Enbys on the internet that I have found and even less with such a freaking RAD sense of style. Definitely hitting that subscribe.
Gina's overcompensation is super relatable to be but on the flip side, and that was the first thing my therapist called me out on - trying SO hard to be incredibly feminine to stop out all the trans feels.
It can also depend on the kid's education level in that regard, doesn't matter how mature they are if they've never heard the word 'transgender' cause they won't have the language to accurately describe themselves.
wow, that one point towards the end about Jubilee not including pronouns in their other videos really surprised me! i'm a pretty consistent viewer of their channel and I have never noticed, so thanks for pointing that out!
could u maybe do a video on educating baby punks that hate getting their info from tiktok? like a video on how to start being punk safely and/or describing what some important punk political ideologies mean in simple definitions? THANKS LOVE UR CHANNEL VERY HELPFUL!
I loved every point you made, plus your positivity! I’m glad most of these people had such different perspectives and I’d love to see more videos like this
I my child tells me they're a girl now and not a boy anymore, I'll let them explore their gender. If they later on decide that that's actually not really what they are, then that's fine for me. The most important thing is, that they can explore themselves, in my opinion. And if that involves several gender changes, until they feel comfortable in their skin, then I'll support them. Gender is a spectrum after all, and figuring out what gender I am, was for me one of the hardest things. Also, there's so many factors going into why someone might at first be open about their gender, but then subconsciously closet themselves again.
AND you're so intelligent, compassionate and well-spoken too. AHHH 😙👌 you're easily one of my favorite youtubers out there and I just discovered you this summer. Keep being your amazing self!
I think it's really interesting that Gina said somewhat agree for medical transition stuff even though it sounded like she actually had the same thoughts as the others. Her concern is more about trans people having access to medical transition, and I could see how an older person who had a harder time accessing hormones might fear that saying you disagree could lead to people saying, "oh well I guess insurance doesn't need to cover it."
Hi Ashton!! I really appreciate seeing how out and confident you are about your identities. You’re not afraid to be open about who you are and bold with your appearance. I’m not trans, but still it’s super inspiring!
I dunno man, good for anyone who is happy being trans but this has severely derailed my life. I would never have done unhealthy sex work if I weren't trans, I wouldn't have almost died of anorexia if I weren't trans, I probably wouldn't self-harm if I weren't trans, I could have used my teens and twenties more effectively dating, etc etc. Yes a lot of those are behavioral, but I don't feel that I really had a choice bc I had to have SOME coping mechanism and nothing better was or is available to me (I'm on HRT now and not very physically dysphoric). Like I have a positive attitude irl and try to get on with things, but realistically I would never ever ever choose to experience that kind of life-destroying dysphoria for 25 years. It's very similar to chronic pain in that you have to constantly refocus your attention on whatever else, swimming against the current almost 24/7 (in my case chronic pain is somewhat "worse" bc it affects me in my sleep while physical dysphoria doesn't... but I would rather feel my chronic pain that physical dysphoria. Chronic pain wears me down and messes up my functioning, but it doesn't make me instantly red alert s**cidal).
I love how things that are literally being taught in universities and supported by evidence to be true are still debated as non-existent by some people...it's so frustrating. Also this is my first video of yours, it popped up in my recommended, and you look familiar I feel like it was a tiktok I saw, maybe someone who just looks similar to you lol
As a pan cis guy i have a friends with asexual benefits with a trans man.. we cuddle mostly and flirty play fight.. Sadly I'm the only person use his pronouns or his name he goes by, I see and respect him as a man.. other people he hang with and cuddle still sees him his bio gender.. he hasn't been able to do hormones yet.. He had a guy try to fight him over his pronouns ..i had some tell me off for being protective over him trying to say I treat him as a female.. But in reality I have feeling for him and he knows no have feelings and I respect him as being trans and isnt comfy with his chest.. I accidently touched his chest and didn't stop apologizing for like 2 minutes..
that gender roles question was ambivalent in intent because "are gender roles important to you personally" seemed to be how the one "partially agree" person took it. Others took it as "should gender roles be upheld as they are" and said no. Seems like everyone was in agreement that enforcing them on people is oppressive, but getting rid of role identification gets rid of a way some people manifest and experience their gender identity. Two different takes on the same question.
I don't think Jo got to talk nearly enough. If they did get to talk, then Jubilee made some HEAVY cuts and I as someone under the nonbinary umbrella really wish Jo got the chance to voice their opinions more.
I was confused about the risk question, in a different way. I wasn't sure what kind of risk they meant. Socially? Acceptance, rate of hate crimes against trans people, and such things. Or Medically speaking. Increased risk of cancer, like trans women having a higher risk of breast cancer and so on.
I really love/appreciate your content Ashton. I just realized I haven’t commented in a while so I just wanted to point out I think you’re rad as hell! I also would’ve really appreciated more diversity in the Jubilee video especially as a non-binary person. I’m actually trying to diversified the people I watch and follow especially for LGBTQ+ content so if anyone has any suggestions I’m very open.
When I was younger i was kinda “man I wish I was a boy” but that was mainly cause gender stereotypes and I wanted to play baseball, but it felt weird. (Not my parents but just people in general and just felt out of place) Still questioning my gender but mostly just annoyed that people force gender roles on people
When I was younger I thought to myself I have a wierd gender it isn't a boy or a girl odd. Now I know that I'm frostcatgender (A gender that can be described as a cat who lives in a cold environment). No matter how long it takes I'm sure you will find your gender if you haven't found it yet
I’m really pleasantly surprised about the lack of trans people with bad takes in the video Ashton reacted to. I had expected that they haven’t sought out truscum, or generally pro-gatekeeping, enbyphobic, ect trans people, which many videos like this unfortunately do which gives a platform to hateful stuff and makes right wingers say “look, even some trans people are on our side and think [transphobic thing]!!”, and also makes them seem more prevalent than they actually are. I agree that it’s really, really unfortunate that there was such a lack of enbies and trans guys. I wish they had shown a more even split. Studies have shown that among the people who identify as trans, about a third are women, a third are men, and a third are nonbinary (I’m not sure which study this was that i found and I’m pretty sure it was about trans people in Germany so it might have been linked on a website of some german trans organizations website, not sure) so it would be really nice to have this represented and give trans men and nonbinary people visibility. This is unrelated but the trans guy, I think Xavier was his name, has exactly my clothing style!! Black, cargo pants and badass boots, I love this!! He also has a cool looking hairstyle and while mine is very different (I have a pretty standard sidecut) it too is a hairstyle which is partially long and partially shaved and I love that sort of hairstyle!! Generally he seems really cool. Also I’d love to meet so many people in that video they all seem so cool!! Also Ashton themselves obviously lol
i love your channel and you are such a comforting personality to watch. i’m sad you had to make a video on *He Who Shall Not Be Named* but that’s how i found you and your videos. thank you for affirming my identity. (also what eyeliner do you use... it looks SO good) :-)
Dhsbsndndkdk your style is so amazing I absolutely love it - your makeup is immaculate and your eyebrows??? Adorable!!!!!!! Your confidence makes me so happy and hopeful to see- please keep putting positive energy into the world ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
I'm a cis girl and honestly I didn't disagree w anything mostly because I'm not the one to talk about that(? like,, I don't experience the same stuff trans peeps do yk? I also like that some of them mentioned the intersections between minorities, idk that shit matters but yeah like, I can't speak for y'all and I think it's basic human decency to just want everyone be loved and respected and love who they are just for existing yk?? Also I'm a lesbian so i understand the whole "not hating who I am but I wish things were easier" 100%
Also some people don't have access to surgery for a multitude of reasons so you shouldn't assume just because someone's not getting surgery that they love their own body. It took me far longer than most to qualify for top surgery and even then I had to pay for it (where I am people generally have free healthcare. Including me but it's complicated re:top surgery). Some people are cool not having any surgery, some people want some surgery, some people want all the surgery, and sometimes it doesn't matter what you want because the system is fucked. Just don't assume a transperson is happy with their body unless they literally say they are. Not that you should be commenting on random peoples' bodies anyway.
i love this video!! just found your account and im so happy about it:). i’m autistic & NB too. thank you so much for creating content, you’re very introspective, well spoken, & INTERESTING!!! i really feel like we’d be friends IRL. you are so cool. thanks!

perhaps i'm misremembering? but i believe i have seen people who were in the videos say entire parts of conversation were cut out and that it changes the context. obviously they condense it for a shorter, more easily consumed video, but if that is true, it feels weird and inauthentic.
a lot of the ones where they have more conservative ppl on, they'll edit a lot of what they say out and stuff and it's weird to me. If it's a debate, let ppl speak and be heard, not just one group. idk, I think overall they're doing good. Hearing viewpoints other that yours is typically a great thing I think! Only being surrounded by those with your viewpoint just keeps you in a bubble. Good to understand the other side as well, and actually can help you form better arguments against them, lol.
your videos give me ✨serotonin ✨
Ashton I love your energy in this video. Thank you for the content warning. The way you talk about how you love yourself is wonderful.
i got it secondhand actually!! keep an eye on depop or etsy, I’m sure there are similar ones :)
@@graveyardpansy Ooh thanks!!
I saw one on Michelle moe’s shop, Alien Moe (you can order it on big cartel.) I also saw them on Etsy from a shop called EarsbyEmilyShop, they’re called cool dagger knife!
@@avacaliente4698 awesome, thanks for the tip!!
@@gandalfthegrey3252 no problem!
Uhm, so I kinda love this. There are not enough Enbys on the internet that I have found and even less with such a freaking RAD sense of style. Definitely hitting that subscribe.
fart
You're so comely, I love your makeup and brow shape!
Edit: also, your hair! It's shape matches your face shape and matches your skin tone and eyes!!
Gina's overcompensation is super relatable to be but on the flip side, and that was the first thing my therapist called me out on - trying SO hard to be incredibly feminine to stop out all the trans feels.
I just rewatched that jubilee video then the day after you popped up in my recommended and you've stuck ever since. So nows the time to watch it!
I feel like it depends on a child's self esteem and their maturaty wheather they put two and two together and figure out their trans
I first found this channel through your kalvin video and now I'm obsessed. Your style is just so on point
could u maybe do a video on educating baby punks that hate getting their info from tiktok? like a video on how to start being punk safely and/or describing what some important punk political ideologies mean in simple definitions? THANKS LOVE UR CHANNEL VERY HELPFUL!
bruh wtf r u on about
I loved every point you made, plus your positivity! I’m glad most of these people had such different perspectives and I’d love to see more videos like this
I really appreciate the warning, I've never seen other UA-camrs do that. Thank you!
Also, there's so many factors going into why someone might at first be open about their gender, but then subconsciously closet themselves again.
this is such a great video dude! love the look too!!
Ashton your style and aesthetic is so freaking cool!!!!!
Her concern is more about trans people having access to medical transition, and I could see how an older person who had a harder time accessing hormones might fear that saying you disagree could lead to people saying, "oh well I guess insurance doesn't need to cover it."
i just found ur channel and i’m obsessed w the vibes!! i feel ✨safe✨
Hell yeah, name drop of Evie Lupine!
Hi Ashton!! I really appreciate seeing how out and confident you are about your identities. You’re not afraid to be open about who you are and bold with your appearance. I’m not trans, but still it’s super inspiring!
WELL WATCHING THIS VIDEO MY BINDER CAME I DIDN'T THINK IT WAS COMING YET! WHAT ARE THE ODDS!!!
YESSSSS IM SO GLAD AHHSHWHWHS
@@samuel-zb4qn just to have an update, it looks GREAT it fits well i think. and im wearing it to school monday! :)
@@OscarBoscar889 yay!!
I just found your channel today I love your voice and this is my first notification from you 😍
Brooo your makeup looks rad.
i really love the way you speak on all these topics! you always sound very educated & respectful, which is simply wonderful
Your voice is so calming!! Idk if this makes sense but it reminds me of the voice of someone who talks on some super expensive audiobook or smth
your aesthetic is... whole goals. like seriously you look amazing
Chronic pain wears me down and messes up my functioning, but it doesn't make me instantly red alert s**cidal).
you look SO GOOD in this video i love ur hair and makeup
I love the way that you explain your perspectives. As a cis gal, I really enjoyed watching and learning from you :)
Your hair looks so good oh my god
I wish I was friends with all these people they're all so lovely and wholesome
that gender roles question was ambivalent in intent because "are gender roles important to you personally" seemed to be how the one "partially agree" person took it. Others took it as "should gender roles be upheld as they are" and said no. Seems like everyone was in agreement that enforcing them on people is oppressive, but getting rid of role identification gets rid of a way some people manifest and experience their gender identity. Two different takes on the same question.
Thank you so much for the content warning!!
I love ur style sm but I also wanna just reach into the screen to ask permission redo your liner in a way that suits your eyes nicer😂❤️
jubilee videos stress me out so much but i always want to watch them. thank you for reacting to it so i can watch it with someone else lol
I am way too much of a weenie to watch any Jubilee videos on my own lol thanks for this
I have shaved the tails of my eyebrows off and I’m glad there’s another person with those eyebrows.
ok this is off topic but u look so cool in this video
your look is *chef's kiss*
I really love/appreciate your content Ashton. I just realized I haven’t commented in a while so I just wanted to point out I think you’re rad as hell! I also would’ve really appreciated more diversity in the Jubilee video especially as a non-binary person. I’m actually trying to diversified the people I watch and follow especially for LGBTQ+ content so if anyone has any suggestions I’m very open.
Sam Collins is one of my faves
can we talk abt how pretty they are in this video???????
i don’t think there were any black trans women ??? broo :(
They could do another one. Could have been not very many people signed up to do it. Though i would prefer some black trans women on here as well
your makeup and hair in this video is perfect jejdjsjsjssjejw i love your look sm!!!!
When I was younger i was kinda “man I wish I was a boy” but that was mainly cause gender stereotypes and I wanted to play baseball, but it felt weird. (Not my parents but just people in general and just felt out of place)
Still questioning my gender but mostly just annoyed that people force gender roles on people
When I was younger I thought to myself I have a wierd gender it isn't a boy or a girl odd. Now I know that I'm frostcatgender (A gender that can be described as a cat who lives in a cold environment). No matter how long it takes I'm sure you will find your gender if you haven't found it yet
@@tsurugikinjojoinmycult2100 thanks dude!! yeah honestly im more of an enby now. i kinda feel more masc, i wanna look and be masc, but also hey skirts
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!✨
Really excited to see your takes on things
(also what eyeliner do you use... it looks SO good) :-)
Looking back at your video from. 3 years ago you have come so far!!!!

i just wanted to say thank you and that your videos helped me a lot
Gina is very cool gives off poggers vibes I would like to be brought up by her
I was watching mettaton cosplay videos and somehow ended up here. Thank you.
8:44 uh did anyone else see that,,
pls i wish ur vids were around when i was 10-11
You're really cute with and without makeup!
interesting video, also you look so good Ashton!!
This is completely off topic I guess but I'm just wanting to know for myself... Is being Asexual considered LGBTQ+?
yup :)
Absolutely.
Of course :) 💛
ye
Of course
i love this video!! just found your account and im so happy about it:). i’m autistic & NB too. thank you so much for creating content, you’re very introspective, well spoken, & INTERESTING!!! i really feel like we’d be friends IRL. you are so cool. thanks!
