*PLEASE READ FOR ANYONE WHO HAS LEGITIMATE CONCERNS ABOUT T-SLUR VOICE* I don't want to entertain any criticisms from K*lvin, but I know a lot about the voice because I'm a trained singer and have worked with several vocal coaches. The t-slur voice has literally nothing to do with your hormone levels or the second puberty development of a persons voice. The t-slur voice is caused by a person whose vocal chords have thickened quickly and that person has not changed what part of the head their voice is resonating from. People who are AFAB and have been conditioned to "speak like women" tend to produce sound with their larynx higher, soft pallet lower, and the voice resonating towards the middle of the mouth. When someone who speaks this way has their vocal cords thicken (an effect of T) but do not lower their larynx and raise their soft pallet, and "pull their voice back", the sound they produce will be a little higher in pitch, sharper in tone, and more nasally than how you might imagine a typical cis man to speak. That's literally it. It's not "just the way your voice is because you were given hormones incorrectly". It is something you CAN change, but you don't have if you don't want to to because if that's how you speak and you like it that's cool and anyone who mistreats you for that is a shitty person! I hope this helps you to understand that Kalvin is just full of shit. In the best case scenario Kalvin is lying about his endocrinologist saying that, in the worst case scenario, Kalvin's endocrinologist who has worked with over a thousand trans people actually has no idea what they're talking about when it comes to the vocal chords... Either way, not a good look.

The way he described it, it seems as though he uses the term because he tends to feel more comfortable in a masculine identity and has taken masculinizing hormones. For him it's an easier way of summarizing his identity.

It was one of the first of his I'd seen, and one of the first things he said was that non binary people weren't real. It made me feel terrible and it made me insecure about my identity for a while

Being pre t watching you do make up and self care has made me feel more comfortable trying more feminine things with out feeling as bad.

There is a video by a UA-camr named korviday in which he explains this exact experience. The way he described it, it seems as though he uses the term because he tends to feel more comfortable in a masculine identity and has taken masculinizing hormones. For him it's an easier way of summarizing his identity.

I think a patreon would be super cool! as a fellow college student i am not currently in a place to be able to support you personally, but I would love to see you get some backing in your passion, as I get how draining school can be and i would hate for this thing which you clearly love to slip out of priority for you because of diminished returns. I'm so glad I found ur k*lvin video! I used to watch u all the time when I was first figuring out my gender but I didn't subscribe so sorta 4got abt this channel rip. As someone who was exposed to transmedicalism v early on, hearing ppl like u talk about how garbage it is has helped me yknow,, not think I'm a degenerate piece of trash. Its nice to come back after a year and see how much I've become like the cool trans UA-camr I used to idolise!! Like Ik it was ME who got thru all that but seeing someone who was unapologetically trans, nonbinary, autistic, punk/goth/alt, using stim toys, anarchist ect. helped me feel like who I am is an ok thing to be :)

I remember when I was first coming to terms with being non binary, one of Kalvin's videos were recommended to me. It was one of the first of his I'd seen, and one of the first things he said was that non binary people weren't real. It made me feel terrible and it made me insecure about my identity for a while
i found your channel from your deathhawk video earlier this year. i never ended up giving myself a deathhawk (not yet at least) but i love your style and i definitely wanna make earrings out of my T bottles at some point.
also i used to identify as transmasc nonbinary, and later as a binary trans man (mostly because of internalized transphobia lmao) but i was still really conflicted about my identity. i remember watching some of your videos about gender and relating to basically everything you said and that really helped me get past a lot of that and accept myself more. bi nonbinary trans man solidarity 😎
