So I and my buddy did a gig, we split the gear load-in. I brought my RCF HD 12" tops and he came with his powered JBL SRX815P. we had a guest DJ that played super loud into distortion. At the end of the night, the JBL tweeters blew while my HD12 with their 1400 watts were perfectly fine. Also, the RCF sound is audiophile-like. Def buying the new ART 932's to go with my 2 QSC KS118
Hi so im looking to upgrade my two midtops and im looking at these 935s but i want a very Bass heavy sound aka warm thump down to say 45hz would these suffice or not at all? i'm basically running the equivalent to JBL EON 515s or lower at the moment just for reference.
@@erikbritz8095 If you want tops with some bass 15” work well but best sound is achieved via using a subwoofer + a 10” or 12” Top. This way the tops don’t have to deal with those low frequencies keeping the Mids and highs clear all night. My 2 cents as a 18yr vet in the business . RCF tops are the only thing I use now. They use their Pro Amps even in these DJ / Live band tops.
@@erikbritz8095 mate i can tell you this, you will be blown away by the sound that comes out of these 935's, personally i don't have them but i originally had HD32-A mk4's and sold them and bought myself a pair of the ART932-A and boy do they reproduce a fantastic deep but warm bass, also the highs are crystal clear. I'd say you should definitely buy those 935's cause you are not gonna regret it.
Great video! I am in the market for a pair of 910A as stand alone pair for smaller gigs. I’ve been using my QSC K12 for years would this be similar in sound or possibly better?
There is a noticeable difference in throw distance. The 935 throws much farther. The lower crossover frequency of the 935 also makes it sound cleaner in our opinion. It does also seam to help with controlling vocal spill with the majority of the vocal range being directed by a horn.
I have the chance to snag one of these for $800 less for a 230V version. How hard would it be to swap to 110V? RCF manual says the service center would swap a fuse to convert to 110V. Seems simple, could I do it?
Which one would be better for DJing… RCF ART 935-A , RCF ART 945-A Or EV ETX 15P? Which one would you chose/ go for if it were you? …I’m torn between these picks as I’m about to get the RCF 935’s (a pair) but I’ve always kindda been an EV guy so I was saving to get the highest end on their line which are the ETX line and I have the budget to do it now BUT, RCFs have been my dream speakers/ sound too for a while… so I don’t know… what do you recommend!? Please 🙏 … I see that a high frequency/ volume the RCF Art 935s are going hard and clean and still giving a good punch/ low end/ frequency which is what I want and need for my DJ music (I’m a open format DJ - All genres) but the EV ETXs are good too at a high volume and RMS (continuous) …and I want to avoid carrying/ having to bring Subs as much as can…for more portability, efficiency and faster set up and break down… and I also heard that the ART 935s compared to the ART 945s are better for the punch low end/ frequency because the ART 945 tweeter/ driver is bigger than the ART 935 thus giving you a more sharp/ flat less Bassy sound… your thoughts/ input on this one please? I’ll greatly appreciate it 🙏
Great question and I’m wondering the exact same thing and want a speaker that works best with no sub. I was interested in the 935 vs 945 and have only heard the 945 in person. Def agree that the tweeter is loud and almost overpowering in the 945 so that’s why I thought the 935 may be a better fit for DJ and for the price. Have you heard the 935 in person? Did you end up buying a speaker?
Sorry for the late reply. It is hard to go wrong with the 935 or 945. They are both great speakers. The 945 for travel and without a sub would be best for DJ work. They are incredible speakers.
I heave heard the 945 at the DJ expo. They sound Incredible. Much better than EV ETX. The only thing I would say is that those 945s have a lot of throw. They are meant for BIG ballrooms and festivals. If you DJ 150 person or less weddings and parties, the 945 is overkill imo. For these events I would recommend RCF ART 912 or Art 915 as a more rounded speaker for the typical events. That 4" tweeter in the 945 is meant for big events.
have you heard the 945? is it worth going for the 945 over 935 in terms of clarity and vocals? A lot of people liked the 745s most out of the 7 line for vocals due tot he 4" voice coil on top.
Hey guys isn't there also a 945-A coming out? What's the difference in the 2? I just bought the HDM 45's last year. How does that compare to this new 9 series?
Yes, there is also a 945-A, it upgrades the main driver to a Neodymium Woofer (shaving a little over 4.5 pounds off of the overall weight of the 945-A compared to the 935-A) with a 1/2" larger voice coil, upgraded the compression driver to a 4" voice coil over the 3" voice coil found on the 3" 935-A. The compression driver crossover point drops down to 650hz compared to the 800hz crossover point found on the 935-A. the 945-A is capable of 135db output compared to the 133db output of the 935-A.
MrNightro nailed it below on the 945. Your HDM 45’s are still in a different league. We really enjoy our 945’s they do more than we could have ever expected out of them.
@@sweettreeproductions2149 My understanding is that 12" is usually better with subs because the driver is faster so it will give more kick/punch and give better representation of mid freqs while the extra bottom end of a 15" is filtered out anyways. Please share your thoughts on this.
I compared both side by side and the rcf produced a way cleaner sound than the jbl srx, both produced a lot of volume but in my opinion rcf always sounds cleaner no matter what volume you put through.
turn it down if you start smelling the speaker, do this for maybe a single song then go back at it or turn down gains as in bass-mid-highs. no need to drive any of those too high with mid tops.
Electrical conversions depend on watts, voltage, amos, ohms. Speakers are not driven at 120v. D class amps are extremely efficient so little power is required to drive a lot of clean power to the drivers.
Definitely a game changer for RCF. Looking forward to hearing one in person !
Le 915 est déjà super

I like the new design.. wasn't a fan of the old design like the 735.. can't wait to pick up a few when its available..

912a vs 932a next :P
Hopefully soon.
I don’t understand why RCF use a ceramic magnet rather than a Neo on the low frequency driver. Surely a 3kg weight reduction would be worth it?
They do on their top tier speakers. We agree it would definitely save some weight.
Would x2 945s as mains and x2 935s for sides work? Would there be a noticable different in sound?
They would be very close, but with the slightly different crossover frequencies and high frequency drivers there would be a small difference.
With added subwoofers, Is it better the 932 vs 935?
Realistically, 932 for live music and 935 for DJ if you have subs for. Orb.
