That sims settlements mod is pretty awesome. It adds a whole new "DLC" on its own and it is pretty good. A whole queatline with side quest and everything that coincides with the vanilla story of the game. The settlements are awesome if you get into tinkering with them. To start the simms settlement mod, there's supposed to be a magazine on the workshop at sanctuary that you need to pick up. But i didnt see it as you were playing. Youll need to go and collect junk to grind up the gears to produce sime turrets. That will help with the Sturgis quest stuff.
@@appalachiansapper12b64 I’m having fun just tinkering with the mod and figuring it out. Right now I’m trying to figure out how the mod assigns npcs. I have it’s a feeling it has something to do with beds. Thanks for the tips!
Loving this!! Definitely NOT bored but you are moving wayyyy toooo fast. I know you are recording for the masses but I know I would personally like you to take your time and EXPERIENCE the game and see your raw reactions to first time play. Not like Skyrim where you've played it enough you know where everything is, what's useful, and the lore so it's not such a big deal if you rush through certain things. This can be a very long game if you do all the side quests, look for lore, random encounters, hidden locations etc. Most of your lore is in terminals and on holotapes so you need to be searching. Map: You were at the Museum of Freedom in Concord and didn't even know where you were at, it did pop up in the first episode but you were busy fighting which can happen quite often not to mention you are taking everything in for the first time. You can check your Map to see where you are if you missed the location discovery pop-up. There are a few places in game that actually exist in real life, although they have been altered to fit in the FO4 universe. Hacking: You've already figured out the likeness aspect but there is more to it that can help you, if you haven't found it yet and would like a hint let me know. Scrapping: Just go nuts scrapping, especially in Sanctuary, everything you scrap goes into the workbench anyhow so it won't weigh you down. Sanctuary should have everything in it you need to finish the tasks Sturgis gives you, you just have to find it. Assigning Settlers: Not sure how much Sim Settlements changes this, if at all, I have plans for future SS2 playthrough but haven't done one yet. If you are in build mode and you go up to a settler you will see more options. Settlers will auto-assign themselves to some jobs but as you play and learn you may want to re-assign. I believe you can still do this with Sim Settlements as well to make sure all the basic needs are met and to finish the quests like the one for Sturgis while the Mod goes to work and you venture through the stages/quests for it.
OMG It didn't occur to me to go to settlers with build mode on! Thank you! And you are right! I've been rushing, I've taken this to heart and hopefully you'll see this in the next episode! Concerning hacking, I'll probably only be able to hack the basic terminals because of the direction of chosen with progression. BUT I would love some tips concerning hacking! You're awesome! Thank you!
@@jtsgaminghijinx Awesome, I'm glad your are slowing down. There is a lot to take in and figure out. The game holds your hand some but not every single thing is spelled out for you (which I love), like knowing how to assign a settler. For the terminals there are hacks within the hack. You'll be looking for strings of gibberish inside of the various types of brackets. The start and end bracket will match, so square with square, greater than and less than symbol, etc. When you scroll across one it will highlight the whole hack. Once you click on it like you would to choose a word it will either remove an incorrect word from your options or reset your picks. There isn't a rhyme or reason to which one does which so don't spend time trying to figure out if one will always reset your picks because it won't (Or at least I've never been able to figure it out, I did try at first, lol). I usually pick my word choices first until I have one pick left then look for brackets so I don't waste my tries reset. Sometimes there won't be a reset, you'll just get the word removal. Sometimes there is a second hack inside the first one. The minimum length of these is 3 characters so one character inside of a set of matching brackets. Can't wait to get off work and watch the next episode!
@@Reese-Dancer cool, now I’m looking forward to my next to see if I can figure it out! Sounds like they put in some thought behind the hacking other than try to guess the right words. Thanks for the guidance!
Hokay I know nothing about your Sim settlement mod so i cannot advise. Otherwise when setting up settlements they need several things to thrive. Food, Water, Beds in a sheltered spot, as in under a roof, and defences. To build anything of course you need resources. In your settlements you can scrap alot of things, and get alot of what you need. You can also use your pipboy to highlight select specific junk you are looking for. You can examine stuff you pick up to see what resources they give you. Just about EVERYTHING is useful in some way. General note, you are moving too fast and are missing ALOT. You missed the concord speakeasy and a work house plus a couple of safes in those houses you wandered thru. Also under concord, is a cvic acess tunnel with some interesting stuff. The death claw came out of hiding there. Check the backyards in Sanctuary you will find a root celler with some neat stuff. WRT perk points, Ammo Scrounger is a must have. It increases the amount of ammo you find in containers. In order to craft armor, you are going to need 3 points in Str. Having a low Int will trigger idiot Savant alot but you earn less XP when your intel is low. You will also not get some cool perks in the Int tree. Such as Science, Chemist, Scrapper hacker and such. Last point, for today Food, each settler consumes one food and can produce 6 food a day if farming. You must scavange to find crops to plant. Once you start growing food, your workshop will auto store excess food you can use to either plant more, OR use to make food for yourself. eating food restores HP which saves You stimpacks.
@@tedzaleschook I had a feeling I was moving too fast. I’m trying to balance playing for myself and playing for viewers. I’ll go back to these places and go through them better. Thanks for the additional tips! Good stuff. Thanks!
@@jtsgaminghijinx Well encumberance is a thing. Power armor gives you a lot of extra carry weight, and with science you can mod the armor to allow you to carry a staggering 420 pounds of stuff. You can also sew pockets and then deep pockets on yer regular armor, so as to increase carry capacity. You can also spend perk points on things like lone wanderer and strong back, but I consider those a bit of a waste, unless you do not want to travel with companions a few of which are really useful. Again you will need to put points into the various specials if you are gonna access some of these perks.
