Pedro is just awesome. He knows his stuff and gives great info about it.
He's so good at explaining it as well. Which is extra impressive because of the language barrier. I don't know shit about pitching. But whenever I watch one of these videos I understand everything he's saying.

He fixed Luis Severino with a similar problem and added a changeup to his arsenal. Severino looked lost and had two predictable pitches despite throwing 100 mph and wasn't hiding his arm before Pedro helped him.
@@KTF0 Same with what he did with Eovaldi last season, he helped him get command consistency because his front foot was landing on his heel and rolling a little putting him off balance causing pitch location to be off. He also helped with Eduardo ROdriguez this year.
Maybe it's something he's not interested in doing. Smoltz is a commentator. Maybe at this point in their careers they'd rather just enjoy life and talk baseball.
Probably because he makes 20 million a year on mlb network and brand deals and promotions

I'm awed at the knowledge these two have. Sometimes, just simple things that add up. So enjoyable to watch.

2 points that HAVE to be made:
1: Why is John Smoltz's glove as big as his own torso; More importantly, thus leading me to my second point;
2: WHY TF IS ROBERT FLORES' UPPER BODY IN THAT SUIT LARGER THAN A ROIDED BARRY BONDS.

Smoltz needs to get his suit tailored. Very 90's with that baggy look. Pedro looks like a high end security guard with his color combination.
When you are as good as Smoltz was, he could be discussing anything pitching related in overalls and I still wouldnt care lol

Archer was not keeping ball low on those hits. Watch how well he pitches in bull pen. A big difference in location.

That's a big tweak for a guy like him. That's pretty good insights to notice that but he was still piping those pitches and mainly behind in the count. Hard to beat hitters that way.
You're right. Big adjustment to change that motion, but he's going to have to figure a way not to open so quickly.
Looks like Archer did not take their advice. 2016 9 wins 19 loses. 4.19 ERA. 2017 10 wins 12 loses 4.07. 2018 6 wins 8 loses. 4.31 ERA.2019 3 wins 9 loses.5.19 ERA. He was out of 2020 and 2021 because he had surgery. I guess he is so smart and does not need to try 2 HOF pitcher's suggestions.

here's Pedro, with acclaim, and accolades getting it wrong again. watching Archer, you can assume the following: he throws hard. if he's being hit, its because his pitches are right over the center; the back catcher and him haven't been aiming at the corners during practice. and when he aims for the edges, he's missing. that is it.

Those pitches seem to be up and middle, and don’t seem to have much right to left or up to down movement.
