Brilliant video here. Surprised it was this difficult to take out, I thought it would just slide out and would be connected in the four corners. What somebody needs to do is make a replacement piece that is clear acrylic with LEDs in them. Then you can run the power wire out the little slot in the back and plug it in for USB power.
That would be cool. Yeah it's a pain to get out bit scary. Microsoft could have made money on selling replacements for these weird they didn't

I really want to do this but I’m honestly scared to at the same time. Also what kind of paint do you recommend and how do you paint it? Do you use spray paint?
I know this is old but yes, you can
spray paint xbox stuff. I have it down really well now and my controllers look better than I hoped, they could pass as retail If you are still interested just reply and I'll detail the process, the sandpaper grits and which paints to use. I'm gonna try to pop this grill out tonight and match my box to the controller I just painted. Xbox design labs is cool but limited.

Wouldn't doing this void your xbox manufacture warranty? You have to remove the warranty stickers on it.

MAgnuson Moss Warranty act prevents them from invalidating your warranty just for opening your console. There is a US law about this. ; however, getting them to abide by it requires you to sometimes file lawsuits

The two on the side were easy, but the one in the middle (one that holds the fan in place) THAT ONE IS SO TIGHT. WD-40 n all, and still nothing. I’m going to have to go buy a wrench now. Smh!!!
